Beautiful Log Cabin in a Stunning Location with Mountain and Loch Views

Bedrooms 3
Half Baths1
Space 1,022 sq. ft.
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 3 - 7 nights

About the property

Three bedrooms, two sitting rooms two toilets with wood burner

Ronaldsay is a recently refurbished log cabin sitting high in the private Seaview Grazings estate, Strontian, with stunning views down Loch Sunart. The area around Strontian is an outdoors-lovers paradise, with beautiful beaches and numerous walks. The cabin sits on a private site, with no other cabins overlooking it. The nearest pub and shop are a 5 min walk, with the village centre being another 5 min along the road.

Ronaldsay features extensive living space, with two sitting areas each with WiFi and large flat-screen TVs. Each TV has both Freesat installed and there are two Blu-Ray players each with internet capability for all standard catch-up services (BBC iPlayer etc). The main lounge has a wood burning stove with views over Loch Sunart to the mountains, while to the rear there is an open-plan kitchen/dining/living area. The rear living-room has views south through large french doors over the loch and mountains.

There are three bedrooms, with the south bedroom having a king-size bed and views south across the loch. The second bedroom has a double bed, with views to the west down Loch Sunart, and the smallest bedroom has a single bed.

The kitchen is well equipped, having a dishwasher and large fridge/freezer. There is also a separate utility room. There are two toilets - one of which includes a large shower cubicle. Hot water is provided through a thermal store, giving fantastic mains-pressure showers.

There are two decks, one each at the front and the rear.

The cabin has been refurbished to a high standard, both internally and externally. It has been fully insulated and re-clad externally, making it very cosy in the winter. It has also been re-roofed, again with good insulation levels, and two large roof windows have been installed, filling the rooms with plenty of natural light.

NOTE: Ronaldsay sits on an elevated site on a fairly steep hill. This means that there are risks around the garden for very young children, who would have to be kept closely supervised.

Beautiful cabin

  • 5 of 5

Perfect getaway stay, looks exactly as the pictures but better. We stayed at one of the coldest times in the UK, but it was clear and bright allowing us to explore the area coming back to a toasty warm cabin. The log burner was a comforting treat each evening. A good quality cabin, with everything you need to hand. Bob provided enough information to easily get to the cabin and use it quickly.

What a hidden gem!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved staying in this beautiful home. The views are stunning and the decor is very tasteful. The pictures really do not do this place justice as it has a lovely big lounge with a large log burner and then a large dining area too. The bedrooms are all a good size and all share the stunning view out over the loch. The location is great too, we especially enjoyed visiting Fort William, Ben Nevis, Glencoe Mountain range and Glenfinnan.

Bob was extremely helpful throughout the booking process and during our stay. Overall, I couldn’t recommend Ronaldsay more highly and can’t wait to return.

The cabin is lovely. Great location, very high standard of cleanliness and very well kitted out. Really is a wee gem. Would highly recommend it for getting away from it all to a peaceful and very relaxing part of the world.

A very nice well equipped property

  • 5 of 5

The property is very well equipped with stunning views over Loch Sunart.

Having visited the area for many years we know all the nice walks and places to visit. The coast line around Arisaig on the way to Malaig is stunning. Several sighting of stags made trips out in the Scots mist worthwhile.

A very relaxing place to visit.

Hopefully, we will be back.
