The spacious 4400 sp ft of living space can easily accommodate groups of 16 + people.
The rental consists of the 3rd and 2nd floors of the home that are approximately 2200 sq ft each. Both have two bedrooms / two bathrooms, a full size furnished kitchen, large living room, and private lanai with beautiful ocean views. For larger groups each level has a comfortable queen size futon with a 'real' mattress, a queen size sofa sleeper, the 2nd floor has an additional queen size Murphy bed. We are located 300 feet (an easy walk down the driveway) from Kahaluu Beach! Undoubtedly one of the best snorkeling spots on the Big Island. Fed by a fresh water spring, up to 10 million gallons per day. These waters are almost always calm, with colorful corals, rock formations, and 100+ species of fish. Swim with huge schools of colorful fish and green sea turtles in these protected waters; don't forget your underwater camera!
The north end of the beach is where the waves break and is best for body boarding and surfing. The local surf instructors give lessons there on a regular basis. Kahaluu is well loved because of the calm, protected waters - perfect for families and kids as well as the adventurous wave seeker. Shady trees surround this beautiful sandy beach. Facilities include a pavilion, rest rooms, showers, a lifeguard tower. Concession stands, surf school and beach gear rental.

Awesome Views........Perfect Location
We had a great time at this large, comfortable, two-story home, which worked out perfectly for our family of five, plus two sets of grandparents. Plentiful and comfortable beds, lovely location (across the street from the wonderful snorkel beach at Kahaluu and just down the street from the little blue and white church on Ali'i Drive), and great convenience with the kitchens and large decks for outdoor dining with a view. Thanks to Steve, the owner, we were well-taken care of and really enjoyed our visit!
This house was perfect for our multi generational family of 8. Lots of room in this home with fantastic lanais on both floors to watch the snorkelers play in the lagoon at Kahulu'u Beach Park right across the street. We really appreciated all of the fins and snorkel gear as well as enough beach chairs for all of us that were there for our free use.
The owner, Steve was there in his own separate unit giving us fresh mangoes and figs daily and immediately felt like a member of the family!
This is a place we would come to again for sure.
I just want to echo some of the other comments. This place was terrific. There were 11 of us on the trip and we fit comfortably. Steve, the gentleman that lives in the first floor apartment, was a terrific host. He had lots of good tips for us plus snorkel equipment ready for us to borrow any time.
One of the best snorkeling beaches in the area is right at the end of the driveway. My son and I would get up early and go snorkeling for an hour before breakfast. It was a perfect way to start the day.
If you are looking for a great place to stay on the big island, this place is it.
We spent a week at this amazing little home away from home. The veiw was amazing, the gentleman who runs things has a generous assortment of scuba gear and boogie boards to chose from to borrow for the day.
I would like to share my one major discovery on this trip, BUY A RASH GUARD! I burned like crazy the first two days and found this long sleeve water shirt that works like spf/UV 50 and was totally great the rest of my trip.
House has open ceilings and no AC, I freaked out, but the breeze from the ocean kept the entire home at a perfect temp. After the first night I was perfectly at home.
Great location and home. Walk to a great beach and park. Great value.
The home was very open an airey and very clean. We booked all 3 levels with 21 of us. Plenty of room to spread out and move about. It was nice having a clothes washer and dryer. Clothes lines for fresh Hawaiian breeze air drying. Bob was available for any questions and very friendly. The Internet went down and he had it fixed within an hour. The home was situated 1/2 way between downtown and other area restaurants. My only 2 suggestions would be to maybe put in some ceiling fans and dishwashers. Overall, great visit.
Located 300 feet from Kahaluu Beach Park, a historic and premier snorkeling beach.
