In Gassin, this beautiful, 3 bedroom private chalet is set in a park boasting 15 hectares of woodland. It comprises of a fully equipped fitted kitchen, bathroom and large outside terrace complete with table, chairs, loungers & electric BBQ for those long summer nights. Parc Oasis itself is exclusive and very safe with gated barriers for security. It is also in an ideal location for getting all around, whether it's to the coast, up in to the hills or into the many towns nearby, including the Venice of the Cote d'Azur, Port Grimaud at 2km away or the glitz and glamour of St.Tropez at 5km away, which you can actually overlook at the top of the Parc. The chalet is in a cul-de-sac so is quiet & free from passing traffic, making it ideal for children and very quiet & private. Shaded by pine trees it is kept out of the midday sun but the terrace always receives the final rays of the day.
David and I met in the South of France over 20 years ago so it has always held very special memories for us. We got married 15 years ago and now have 3 beautiful children and a rather large dog! Life, like everyone else's is hectic, so the time we spend in our 'home in the sun' refreshes us all. It gives us an opportunity to sit down as a family; relax, talk, play games and laugh together. We really have had many, many wonderful holidays here and always look forward to finding new places we've never been before. The children have grown up here and they still love it, we adapt our holidays to suit them & that's the beauty of the South of France, there really is so much to do for all ages, everyone is kept happy.
We visit the chalet throughout the year and try to spend at least 3 weeks there during the school summer holidays.
Antonia & David Evans purchased this chalet in 2001
We wanted a holiday home we could use regularly as a family, somewhere not too far away but with sun, sea and sand. We love the buzz of the Cote d'Azur, the glamour and glitz of St.Tropez but also the stunning and picture perfect hilltop villages. We chose Parc Oasis primarily for its fantastic location, you are so close to all the major hot spots but it still provides a very tranquil base. You can walk to the boulangerie and a small supermarket, catch a boat to St. Tropez or drive to Cannes, Monte Carlo or Le Lavandou.
We have recently invested in having air conditioning installed making the house event more pleasurable.
Our actual position on the parc was very carefully thought through, we wanted a cul-de-sac for safety and privacy and also we wanted it to be within close proximity to the pool and restaurant without being on top of it. The security on the parc was also very important and that as well as the fabulous amenities make it a lovely, family holiday home.
We had a fabulous holiday in your beautiful property, the chilled bottle of wine was very welcome when we arrived and helped us unwind immediately. We did so much during our stay, walked up in the hills and took in some amazing views, frequented quite a few of the private beaches as well as just relaxed 'at home'. There were 6 in our party and we had plenty of space both inside and out and the electric BBQ meant we could relax on the terrace with a glass of rose during the evening.
With so many towns and villages nearby the choice of where to go was the biggest decision to make, we need to make a return trip to do the rest. The children also loved the Parc Azur funfair but I stayed clear of the crazily scary rides!
We really enjoyed our stay in the chalet. It was our first holiday abroad with our little one. The chalet had everything we needed. It was clean with lots of storage space. Found the location was great for exploring the amazing beaches in the area and the bars and restaurants around St Tropez. Would recommend!
We have stayed in this property 3 times and will definitely return again! The house is clean, spacious, well maintained and perfect for a family. The outside space is brilliant for entertaining and relaxing and the kitchen area has everything you could possibly need - a home from home! The location is beautiful and relaxing and local facilities are great. We thoroughly enjoyed the variety of beaches nearby - a different one every day if you wish! Picturesque Port Grimaud, only a 5 minute drive away, has a choice of restaurants and a gorgeous harbour. If you fancy seeing how the other half live, you must visit St Tropez harbour but make sure you wander away from the harbour, through the streets where you will find lots of great shops & restaurants. Great place for a family holiday in the south of France!
You are spoilt with the choice of beaches, the nearest being Port Cogolin which is in walking distance. It has a beautiful marina which hosts lots of friendly bars, restaurants and 'glaciers'. All along the coastal road is an abundance of little coves, varying in size but all with parking. La Croix Valmer, at 5 mins drive not only is a lovely little village but also has a beautiful, wide and sandy beach. It has parking, bars, restaurants and private areas where you can hire sun loungers.
There is a beautiful boulangerie, pizza and rotisserie chicken and little shop just outside of the park, within walking distance. A large and very convenient shopping centre including hypermarket is less than half a mile away. This has a pharmacy, dry cleaners as well as more bars, glaciers and eateries. There is also a petrol station, fast food outlets and an ATM machine. There are also many more boulangeries and patisseries near to the parc which are fantastic; directions can be found in the information file in the chalet but the nearest one being just outside the parc gates.
Parc Oasis is ideally situated for days out to places such as Italy, Monte Carlo, Cannes, Nice, Grasse and Antibes, the list is endless. On your doorstep you also have the beautiful villages of Port Grimaud, La Croix Valmer and up into the hills to visit the historic villages of Grimaud, Gassin and Ramatuelle. For star spotting St Tropez is a must at 5km away, a beautiful way to travel is by boat from Port Cogolin. You go past all the floating gin palaces and huge celebrity hide-aways!
Nice is the largest International airport at around 90km away, lots of low-cost airlines fly into here and also into Marseilles which is just a little further. Toulon is probably the nearest airport around 40 mins away. If you are flying we suggest hiring a car to maximise your opportunities, all the airports have lots of choice of rental companies. The ports of Cherbourg and Calais are about 12 hours drive whilst the Le Havre route takes about 10 hours.
There is so much to see and do during a holiday here...too much for one trip! Walks up into the hills and bays which you are surrounded by, lounge on a different beach every day, including the famous Club 55 which is only 20 minutes drive away. Visit the sailing club (Debarquament Plage) and enrol in a course, suitable for all ages and experience, our children have done these (with no French skills) and they had an amazing time, even seeing dolphins some days!
A day trip to Ile D'or is wonderful, the clearest and most turquoise sea we have ever seen away from the Caribbean and free from cars on the whole island so prepare to walk or hire bikes when you disembark.
Visit the local tourist office to find out when the polo matches are on, entry is free of charge with a large seating area and bar, you can even meet the teams and their horses.
You can either hire a small boat from Port Grimaud for the day without any boat license, bigger boats for hire can be found again in Port Grimaud, St.Tropez or Cavalier.
We have also had some incredibly memorable days on a large catamaran, it takes around 25 people and all food and drinks are provided (or you can take your own), they depart from Port Cogolin and relax whilst they sail you out to beautiful empty coves where they anchor and you get the opportunity to snorkel, paddle board, canoe or windsurf, everything is provided (if you don't have your own) and it gives you a little feel of what the millionaires get the chance to do from their yachts!
