Comfortable, cosy apartment
The flat was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. It is just a short walk from Haarlem station. We were met by Kiki’s daughter who was very friendly and showed us how the coffee machine worked and how to lock and unlock the bikes. Kiki was also very accommodating and gave us useful information about getting around the area. Overall a lovely place to stay, although the stairs are very steep!
Lovely Neighborhood Apartment!
This two-bedroom upper level apartment with fully-equipped kitchen is very clean and comfortable. Kiki met us at the apartment and showed us how everything works. Fresh tulips adorned the dining room table and a package of Stroop Wafels was a pleasant surprise. It is easy to fix a meal here should you tire of eating out. There is a grocery store within a 5 minute walk and a smaller deli just down the street. (The larger grocery store did not take Visa cards so make sure you have cash.) The big windows in front of the dining table offer a refreshing breeze if desired and we enjoyed the birds flying by and the view of a church steeple in the distance. The sofa in the living room is clean and comfortable. The bathroom seems large by European standards. Kiki supplied laundry detergent for the washing machine and there is a large clothes rack for drying. The steep stairs are do-able with handrails on both sides. We are a fit couple in our mid-60s and didn't have any trouble. If you like to feel like you are actually living in Haarlem as opposed to just being a tourist this is the place to stay!
Kiki was a wonderful host. The apartment was clean and well equipped with everything we needed.
What a marvelous apartment and so easy to get to Amsterdam city center in minutes! Kiki went out of her way to make us feel welcome with all the comforts of home. A very safe neighborhood stay with bikes, really great beds and coffee plus fresh roses on arrival. Felt like we were meeting an old friend in a new place. Thank you Kiki...we will be back!
Excellent apartment. Well appointed kitchen, most comfortable and quiet place to sleep!
I have read the reviews mentioning the stairs and yes, they are steep, but the owners will help with luggage, there are hand rails on both sides, and this senior citizen with two joint replacements had no problem. When you arrive at the top floor you will see that the trip up is worth it. A fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, a nice table for eating and playing games. A very comfortable living room, beautiful bathroom and two very nice bedrooms. The most quiet place I have ever stayed. Clean, comfortable, and convenient. With roses on the table to welcome us!
Charming, quiet, clean, convenient!
Loved it. Wanted to stay longer! Thanks Kiki!
A lovely place to stay with lots of features. To the beach or cycling through the dunes. Strolling through the city, which has been chosen to best shopping city of the Netherlands. A beautiful historic centre with the Market with the Bavo, Frans Hals museum, Teylers museum, canals etc. Not to mention many cosy terraces and dining options. Amsterdam is only 15 min by train. For years, Haarlem has been called ' klein Amsterdam ', but nowadays Amsterdam is called ' large Haarlem '
