Stylish Studio Apartment, with big terrace and stunning sea and sunset views

(Studio Apartment with 60 sq m. terrace):

This is a small house built in the traditional Santorinial way, on the top of an old winery (“Winery house”). Although connected to the winery's court via steep stone stairs, this house has an independent entrance from the pedestrian road.

In former times, this house was utilized for accommodation of the winery workers.

This “Watch-tower” 40 sq m. Studio with panoramic views over the Aegean Sea and the sunset from the terrace-balcony of 100 sq. m.

The main Domed chamber of the 'Sunset studio' has two entrances from the terrace-veranda. En suite sizable bathroom and small kitchen inside a tiny chamber.

This house is situated in the 'FINIKIA traditional settlement' which is a protected neighborhood of Oia. No cars are allowed inside Finikias narrow streets, and the village is peaceful and relaxing. Distance of the house from the bust station on the main road is 150 meters (walking), from the taverns of Finikia 200 meters, and from the center of Oia 500-800 meters. Nearest sandy beach (Baxedes) is 1500 m downhill, therefore it is advised to go there by bus or rented vehicle.

The house is ideal for 2 persons (one double bed)

This property is historical. It has been the last traditional winery of Finikia, operating until 72. There has been a very positive aura which attracted us to buy and restore this unique building complex.

Introduction to Santorini, Oia and Finikia.

Oia occupies the best part of the island, the north-western part, eleven kilometers away from Fira. The traditional village is also situated on the top of an impressive cliff and offers a spectacular view over the volcano of Palia and Nea Kameni and the island of Thirassia. The houses of Oia are dug in the volcanic lava, mainly two-store houses with a very particular character. This is the best choice for those who wish to enjoy their holidays far from very crowded places and experience the uniqueness of Santorini. If Fira is the fancy and glamorous side of the island, Oia is the elitist part.

Here you can surrender to the magic of nature that has created this little paradise on earth. Spectacular sea views, wonderful architecture, the world famous sunset of Oia with its magical purple colors are just some of the reasons that bring the most famous names of the international jet set to Oia. Must see are The Maritime Museum housed in a captain's house of the 19th century, Sigalas Winery, located on the plain of Oia (Baxedes region), and Oia Castle.

During the past centuries, Oia was the resident area, while the attached neighborhood of Finikia was the industrial, full of wineries.

Finikia:

is a small village, attached to Oia as its neighborhood. There were the wineries where the grapes from the wine field of Santorini, were processed to wine. Village is there since middle Ages. Most buildings were wineries with some accommodation for the workers. The economy of this small village was directly dependent from the wine. As there were not any wells in the area, fresh water was scarce and exclusively supplied by the rain, collected into the sizable underground cisterns of the houses. In our days, very few houses maintain their cisterns in operation and fresh water is provided by the sea, via a local desalination plant.

In our days, Finikia is characterized as a Traditional Settlement and therefore the local architecture is somewhat protected. No cars or motor vehicles of any kind are allowed into the narrow alleys of the village. Finikia is a very silent and romantic place away from the afternoon tourist crowds raiding Oia due to its famous sunset. There you can enjoy your wine in peace while sun falls….

Santorini Island Beaches

Almost all the eastern side of the island is full of beaches. Famous sandy beaches like Perissa, Kamari and Perivolas are the most crowded and trendy, full of restaurants and beach bars. However there are beaches like Kouloumbos, Vlychada, and Mesa Pigadia etc with very beautiful nature.

Simply named the Red beach is one of the most beautiful beaches to be found in the Aegean Sea. Close to Akrotiri in the south is a small bay nestled besides soaring red lava cliffs with terracotta colored sand that disappears into the crystal clear turquoise water. The short walk to the beach is a small effort for the reward of an amazing view

Santorini island is well serviced by both air and sea. There are three flights daily from Athens to Santorini with Aegean and Olympic Airlines. There is also a multitude of international charter flights during the summer season. Sky Express is a small airline that connects Santorini with Mykonos and Crete with daily flights during the high season.

The fastest boat to Santorini from Piraeus (the main port of Athens) is the High-Speed ferry which takes 4,5 hours. There are a number of other ferries that connect Santorini with Athens and the other islands.

Moving around Santorini with a rental car or motorbike is perfectly easy but it is of course busier in high season. Please do not hesitate to ask our concierge for assistance with your travel arrangements and vehicle rentals.

In order to reach the "Sunny Winehouse " you first have to arrive to Finikia.

We can arrange a taxi or mini van to pick you from the airport or harbor and drop you to Finikia.

In case you want to rent a car and drive yourselves, you have to drive direction Fira and then hit the road to Oia (11 Km from Fira). Just 1.5 Km before Oia you meet Finikia.

No matters how you arrive we will come to pick you up from the main road. The house is 200 meters walk from there threw the village, where no vehicles are allowed.
