On the top floor of the house with views to the church tower and accessed by a traditional stone staircase is a music and reading relaxation room with a large selection of books and CDs. For those who like to listen to music as it used to be, there is also a selection of Blues, Jazz, Country, Soul and the odd French classic by the likes of Serge Gainsbourg and Jacques Brel all on original vinyl.
A garage is available for off-street parking and in addition plenty of free parking is available near the house.
The house is beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you could want. The terrace is fantastic, gets the sun all day and is quite private. Only a few minutes walk to everything. Marseillan is a lovely village. We will definitely be back.
Marseillan is the perfect place for a holiday. It is lively without being crowded and has an abundance of great restaurants and bars plus one of the most unspoiled ports in France. It is also adjacent to some of the best beaches on the Mediterranean and close to many great cities and towns including Montpelier, Sète, Agde, Béziers and Pezenas. It appeals to lovers of good food & wine with several Caves in the town where you can buy high quality wine at very reasonable prices. It is also the base for the production of Noilly Prat, the essential ingredient in James Bond's martinis! It is perhaps most famous for the oysters and mussels which thrive in the adjacent lagoon and are served in a wide range of restaurants from the most chic to the more basic 'sheds' that line the lagoon. For lovers of water sports there is easy access to sailing, water skiing, diving, wind surfing and kite surfing. Plus, for any naturists out there, the nearby beach of Cap d'Agde is reputedly the largest nudist beach in Europe.
