Why Mitzi chose Estes Park

Scenery and Serenity! Wildlife and wild flowers abound. If you want a get-a-way from the hustle and noise of the city you have just found the perfect place - I doesn't get better than this! We are only minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park, yet only minutes from downtown Estes and all the shops and restaurants.

What makes this cabin unique

We are a legally licensed vacation rental home in Estes Park. We are legally required to collect and pay sales tax to the state of Colorado. However, since our property is located just outside the city limits of Estes Park, we are not required to collect and pay the Estes Park city sales tax, only the for the state of Colorado. This will save you money for a meal at one of many restaurants.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We received this email on 9/9/15 from our guests who had just completed their stay with us at Moose Mountain Lodge:

Just wanted to say THANK YOU for an amazing place to stay for our family vacation in the Rocky Mountains. Everything was perfect! well except for the Aerial Tram ride during rain, wind and clouds....but it was still quite a view :) The sky opened up with sunshine for the rest of that day so we enjoyed another hike and drive thru the mountains. thank you for the hiking recommendations Mitzi ...bear lake was fun for all of us, I think it took 3 hours to get to Emerald Lake because we kept stopping to enjoy the sights and take pictures.

We all want to go back, so don't be surprised if you hear from us again about wanting to rent your beautiful, cozy, heavenly mountain home!

Wonderful Fall Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at Moose Mountain Lodge for a week of vacation. This wasn't our first time in Estes Park, but it was our first time at Moose Mountain. The windows in the family room were quite large and framed the mountain range beautifully. We had deer show up almost everyday and they even camped out under our trees during a light snowfall. We loved the location, close to everything but not part of the traffic issues common in Estes Park. The house had everything we needed, and the hot tub was a great bonus. Moose Mountain is a great choice.

Perfect mountain log home, with great mountain views.

  • 5 of 5

Stayed a week with my two sisters and brother in-law and we all went home wishing we didn't have to leave. I spent a fair amount of time on VRBO looking for a home in Estes Park with the right combination of beds/baths, luxury, views, location, and affordability. After staying their a week we were all wishing it was our home in the mountains. The back deck with hot tub was awsesome with deer within feet of us while sitting in hot tub and on deck and the view of mountains from their seemed more like a picture than reality. Having never gone the VRBO route I was a little uncertain how it would work, no worrys with these owners I could not ask for better, they are very helpful, easily accessible and quick to respond. Can't wait for our next trip back!

Great Mountain Escape

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at Moose Mountain Lodge multiple times and it never disappoints! The front and back porch have stunning mountain views and the neighborhood is great proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park and downtown Estes. The house is very well kept, comfortable, and spacious. We enjoyed winding down in the hot tub after hiking and walking around town. We saw deer and elk right in the neighborhood multiple times. A great mountain retreat!

Close to Everything

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at Moose Mountain Lodge. It is close to town yet you can access Rocky Mountain National Park without having to go through Estes Park, this is a big plus. We saw lots of wildlife - Deer and Elk were everyday sightings in the neighborhood. The home itself is as promised and is very well kept. Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful Week at the Moose Mountain Lodge

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful week at the Moose Mountain Lodge. It is by far one of the nicest VRBO rentals we have stayed in over the past 5 years. The cabin was clean, perfectly furnished and very close proximity to both downtown Estes and Rocky Mountain National Park. We loved soaking in the hot tub in the evenings after long days of hiking. The neighborhood was very peaceful and serene and the cabin had all the amenities we needed for preparing meals, doing laundry and enjoying all the comforts of home. I would definitely stay at the Moose Mountain Lodge again if we return to Estes Park someday.

The property was everything we expected and more!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I felt this house would be perfect for us, our 15 yr old son, my brother and sister in law and my mom. We were so right! It was perfect and our group enjoyed every minute of our stay. The views from both porches were spectacular! The home was cozy and we can't say enough good. The best place I've ever stayed in Colorado in all the years we've been going.
