Tim and Anne Parsons have been overseeing the building work at Ravenala which has taken the best part of three years. We have added an extra bedroom, a small cottage, three water tanks, the veranda and the swimming pool. It has been an unforgettable experience with many highs and lows, frustrating at times, but very rewarding, helped by all the builders and the many friends we have made in Bequia. We enjoyed it so much that we now remain at Ravenala in the caretakers cottage and are discreetly on hand to make sure that everything runs smoothly.
Let us know if you have any particular requirements, or need to organise a special occasion, or a boat trip and we can put things in motion.
Jal, our Assistant Manager has been with us from day 1 and holds the fort when we are away, he is also good with computers. Chiney and Kerry are in charge of housekeeping and Parties!
Anne Parsons purchased this villa in 2009
We first sailed to the island in 1999 and were captivated by the old world charm of Bequia and its open and friendly people, a rare find in this fast moving world.
We chose Ravenala mainly because of its stunning views and the fact that it is so well placed to see all the visiting ships and yachts in the harbour and the lights at night. Also the proximity of community life in the village at Lower Bay, and of course the marvellous beach and restaurants so close, a perfect spot.
The house when we bought it was a well loved home which had been thoughtfully and solidly built with many delightful details such as stained glass windows Kitchen cabinets carved with propellers and a beautiful garden in over 3 acres of woodland. Although then quite small we saw that with extension, more water tanks and a pool the views from the new verandah would be amazing across the beaches of Princess Margaret and Lower Bay to Port Elizabeth. It also had complete privacy, with only one other house on the road from the beach.

The Ravenala House is everything that my husband and I could have wanted in a vacation rental! This was our first stay in Bequia and Jal, the resident caretaker while the owners are out of town, looked after us wonderfully. We were shown around the island twice, given a phone for concierge-like service, received a delicious welcome meal, and offered trip planning during our stay. The views are amazing (even more beautiful than the pictures) and were absolutely our favorite part of the entire trip. The accommodations were extremely comfortable and more than sufficient for our needs. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook and eat while taking in the amazing views. I would not hesitate for a second to return to Bequia and would just have to stay again at the Ravenala House.
My family and I have had the most relaxing holiday at Ravenala. The house is gorgeous and even better than the photographs. We could stay on! It is hard to leave the house as the views are incredible and always changing. The children have loved seeing the boats coming and going. The pool has been lovely for adults and children as so close to the house. Anne and Tim have been great hosts , nothing has been too much trouble. Highly recommended, we will be back.
My husband and I just left Ravenala on our first trip to Bequia. The home sits on a hill overlooking the most breathtaking view you'll ever see. The infinity pool and outdoor space provide many sun-filled, fun-filled days of relaxing but there is plenty of shade to lounge. The home is well equipped and comfortable with a beautiful master suite and shower that overlooks the bay. Most important are the wonderful managers, Anne and Tim Parsons that take care of your every need.
Ravenala House is situated at the far end of Lower Bay in a secluded and private location set in woodland gardens. Panoramic views across the harbour to St Vincent with ships and yachts coming and going. We are just a few minutes walk to the beach with bars and restaurants close by. For such a small Island Bequia has many good Restaurants often with live music. The annual Music Festival is in January and the Regatta at Easter, both lively and fun. Visit the Tobago Cays to swim with turtles and sail to Mustique which is close by, take sailing and diving trips, visit the Volcano, waterfalls and hiking trails and botanical gardens of St Vincent.
