Set in beautiful Kentish countryside, this quirky, beamed barn conversion makes an ideal holiday destination for families or friends. When the weather is good, take advantage of the spacious garden and enjoy a barbecue on the terrace or relax indoors in front of the large woodburner and sharpen up your pool skills in the games room. Situated in the Garden of England in the Sevenoaks Weald, this holiday home is ideally placed for visiting a plethora of National Trust properties and for exploring the Garden of England.
This property exceeded our expectations. The barn is much larger than the photos portray. The barn is well spread and consists of 4 double bedrooms (2 double & 2 twin) 1 single attic room (not suitable for anyone with any mobility issues as stairs are quite steep) and a huge playroom with two single beds that pull out into doubles.
We hire a house each year as a family and this has been our favourite so far, the lounge area which has comfortable seating and also a huge dining table meant it was a very sociable space. The huge log burner kept the area really warm.
There is a beautiful large garden that leads onto fields for walking.
All of the furnishings are of a high quality and it felt like a home not a holiday home.
The area is beautiful and there are lots of pubs/restaurants close by (not walking distance) The tea room in Chiddingstone looked gorgeous when we popped in but it was too busy for us to get in, we will try again next time.
We will be back for sure, all communication with Melanie was great, she responded really quickly with any questions.
We will return for sure. Thanks Melanie
We booked Priory Barn for our friends hen weekend and stayed for 3 nights mid February. There were nine of us altogether. Directions were very clear and we arrived at the barn without any problems. A few of us arrived a few hours earlier than the bride to be so that we could prepare a dinner and put up some decorations and when we went inside we were all blown away on how gorgeous and spacious the property is. A welcome basket with some lovely biscuits and a gorgeous bottle of wine was a lovely touch.
Attention to detail was fantastic and with a vast array of cutlery, glasses. plates etc in the kitchen we didn't need to worry about a thing. The bedrooms were all a great size and really comfortable and the bathrooms were lovely and clean and well presented with fresh towels for all of us.
The large living and dining area meant we could all eat and sit together which was one of the main reasons we loved the look of the barn.
The games room was amazing and although we did not spend a great deal of time in that room it would be fantastic for anyone staying that had children. We did however have a couple of games of pool and table football as it would have been rude not to.
The gardens looked beautiful and we all commented on how lovely it would be to go back in the summer months to get to enjoy it.
We visited Tunbridge Wells on the Saturday morning to visit one of the local spas and also in the evening to enjoy cocktail making and a bit of dancing which was only about a 20 minute drive away.
We would all without doubt recommend Priory Barn to all our families and friends, the only issue is we all want to move in permanently but we will have to settle on booking it again for another event. We will have to see if all of our better halves will let us have a hen do anniversary every year.
Thank you so much to the owners for allowing us to celebrate our friends hen weekend at your lovely home, we really have had an amazing time.
We had a wonderful time at Priory Barn. The barn was beautifully presented and very well equipped. Everything we needed and more. There was even a welcome gift! We will be definitely be staying again, we often rent out properties for birthday celebrations and this has by far been the best. Many thanks.
We recently stayed at Priory Barn for a family get together. It was amazing. The Barn was more than we could of ever expected. It is so well maintained and very clean. There were 11 of us staying there but the barn was so big we all had plenty of room. The children loved the games room whilst the adults could all congregate in the large well equipped kitchen or gather and in the large and cosy living room. Having somewhere so lovely to stay as one big family made the weekend. We will definitely be staying again very soon.
As a large party we liked the layout which allowed people their own space as well as the opportunity it sit together around the wood burning stove.
Kitchen was extremely well appointed and we wanted for nothing.
Whole place had a very cosy feel.
