This West Point Grey tastefully furnished vacation accommodation is a custom designed, 4000 square foot home at the top of two hills with panoramic Vancouver views of the water, city and mountains, close to dozens of west side schools incuding the University of British Columbia.
The front entrance holds a grand piano, group seating in a leaded glass window seat, an alcove to hang coats and a 2 piece bathroom with a large opening window.
The dining, living rooms, and kitchen are 'open concept' with dark mahogany and leather complimenting the light that pours in through the walls of French windows and doors.
The designer gourmet kitchen has a 14 foot island that seats 6 with the sink and cooktop in the island so cooks can chat to guests and enjoy the view. There is a small gas fireplace in the kitchen above the wine fridge and next to the bar sink. In the island there is a full size dishwasher and a dish-drawer, a small oven and a toaster in a drawer.
Around the corner in the pantry there is 2nd fridge/freezer, a large oven and the star appliance of the house: a full size coffee machine that stores milk and makes hot chocolate, tea, cappuccino or a macchiato at the touch of a finger - 2 hoppers so decaf is always an option.
The comfortable chairs, sofa and ottomans in the living area face the wood burning fireplace, original artwork and views, there is storage for the wood beside the fireplace. There is heritage plank elm flooring through-out the house and rich carpeting in all the main areas. The house is immaculately clean, incredibly well equipped and extremely comfortable. It's the perfect house for a night home alone or a party; the hand built dining table which seats 6-8 comfortably has 6 leaves and can spread along the front room to seat 22. The leaves are stored inside the island so are out of the way and convenient at the same time.
The main floor has a back entrance from the car port off the lane into a combined mud room with plenty of hanging and storage space. There is an office with a large built in desk and filing cabinets with French doors out into the back yard and into the living area, again with the view in sight.
The doors from the dining area open onto the heated front porch with an al fresco dining area for 8 - 10 and a gas fireplace for ultimate comfort. From the kitchen the doors open to the fully fenced south facing landscaped back yard with a small lawn, dining area, herb garden and gas BBQ.
Downstairs has 2 bedrooms, one with French doors and patio (this room has a mountain view and can also be an office), a full bathroom with heated tiled floors, and washer/dryer, a large lounge with a huge flat screen TV, gas fireplace, comfortable couches and a regular size pool table that converts into a ping-pong table.
Upstairs is a bedroom with a small patio facing east, with Mt Baker, beautiful sunrises and city scape to help you greet the day. There is plenty of closet space and a bathroom across the hall.
The Master Bedroom and Bath were designed to take full advantage of the panoramic views using windows, mirrors and french doors to reflect the light. There is a large verandah shared by the upstairs den. Both rooms have gas fireplaces to enjoy while gazing out to the water.
The master bath has a walk in shower, double ended tub with a view, heated towel racks, private toilet and a small well organized walk in closet.
There are TV's with PVR's discreetly hidden in cabinets on the main floor and in the upstairs den, there is a large flat screen TV downstairs.

Our beautiful Vancouver home is located at the top of two hills and has spectacular water, city and mountain views. We are within walking distance of many award winning restaurants and within a 10 minute drive to UBC, 15 minutes downtown and you can be on a ferry or skiing within an hour. Vancouver offers something for everyone! There are several pools, gyms and community centres within minutes by car or bus. Jules Quesnel, Lord Bing, Kits High, West Point Grey Academy, OLPH, Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mary and the University of British Columbia are all in the area.
