Bedrooms 4
Property type house
Minimum Stay 5 nights

About the property

4 Bedroom, 4 bathroom, Beachfront, Amazing view and peacefulness

Across from the mainland of Attica, rests the uniquely beautiful island of Evia, famous for its natural splendor. From lush vegetation crawling down the hills, to the exceptionally long and curvy coastline full of countless sand, pebble, and rocky beaches; some in plain sight, and others hidden away from prying eyes. This extraordinary holiday home is located exactly here; Between two hills, in the middle of a hidden bay, right on the beach, overlooking the tranquil twinkling Mediterranean waters. One could not have painted a better location...

The two-story home itself was designed especially for appreciating this natural wonder of a location. Inside, large windows let the sun pour in, while when looking out of almost any room, you cannot help but be enchanted by the whole bay in full sight. Any of the four large bedrooms which you may choose from are a delight, each one with a special perk. Two of them have en-suite bathrooms, one has an adjoining patio, and the master bedroom boasts a gorgeous view of the sea while lying in bed. Both living rooms are spacious, incredibly welcoming and comfortable, while the sizeable main kitchen is very practical and more than fully equipped; set up to handle anything from a coffee, to a banquet prepared with authentic Greek ingredients.

The outside living areas are when this home's magical charm really shines through, and takes hold of you. Surrounding the home, a large private garden provides ample shade after play, and occasional fruits from the numerous indigenous trees. The ground floor front patio on the garden's edge, begs you to use it for relaxing after a day of fun on the beach while drying off in the setting sun's gentle warmth. On the western garden limit you will find two gates. One leads directly to the south side of the beach, which is covered in the smoothest pebbles in shallow waters, and the other leading to the golden sandy part of the same beach, precisely in the middle of the bay.

For the final treat, on the home's top floor, a purpose-built extra large veranda overlooks the entire bay area, providing a space that will make anything you are doing...better. Whether you just want to relax with a good book sipping ouzo in the sunset, or are enjoying a large feast with your family and friends, this veranda is the place to do it.

If what you seek is an activity-filled seaside vacation, or a peaceful escape bathed in natural coastal Mediterranean beauty, this truly blissful location, and amazing holiday home beckon you to tilt your head, and the Sound of the Sea.

A perfect retreat for location and comfort.

  • 5 of 5

The setting of this house on a beautiful bay and beach, is in itself unbeatable, but then add to that the fact that charming owners, Yiannis and Caterina have created a real home from home, which they do everything to ensure that you enjoy. Not over the top luxury, but wonderfully comfortable and accommodation that is in total harmony with the location. Perfect for lovers of sun, sea, and nature, yet fully equipped with all the comforts you would need for a truly relaxing holiday. Plus, nearby Porto Buffalo has provisions, a good restaurant, and freshly caught fish available from local fishermen. We shall definitely return.

Great house in a beautiful silent bay

  • 5 of 5

Yiannis and Caterina have been extremly friendly, it is their summer house where you stay. The house is huge, with a big sunny terrace and a very well equiped kitchen, everything is clean. We have spent a perfect week with 8 friends hardly leaving the property. (10 people would have been ok, too, then 2 had to sleep in a connecting room) There are only a few other people at the small beach, the water is crystal clear and for cooking you will find plenty of rosemary, sage and mint. It is perfect for relaxing and having a lazy summer vacation - we highly recommend!

A gem in Evia

  • 5 of 5

We were a party of 7 people staying in this beautiful house on the first week of July.

The house was clean, comfortable, beautiful furnitures and with very well equipped kitchen.

Eating on the veranda facing west, was memorable in the mornings as well as in the evenings watching the enchanting sunset.

The two bedrooms on the bottom floor (which is cooler than the ground floor) had ceiling fans, which made them very pleasant. The two bedrooms on the ground floor have air-condition, which was useful in some of the days.

The only place without climate control is the living room & kitchen, and to be honest, none was needed (except on the day we arrived when it was 41 degrees Celsius).

As we arrived on Sunday when most supermarkets are closed, Yiannis & Caterina bought for us food necessaries … and prepared for us homemade pie, sauce for pasta, olives from their trees, jam … what a perfect welcome !!!

The beach adjacent to the house, turns to be one of the best we ever saw in Greece. The clear, blue, calm waters, were irresistible … so we didn't resist.

The tavernas in Port Buffalo are mediocre, but if you ask Stella (the owner of AKROGIALI Taverna) in the morning to prepare the dishes you like, you will end up having a great food in the evening.

No words can describe how nice are Yiannis & Caterina, very hospitable and attentive to every question or request we had.

Thank you for a perfect holiday, we shall return !!!

Ad augusta per angusta

Superb house, very well decorated ,with all modern comfort &many books (in greek) and impressive collection of CD.Owners were there

to explain us the house & were very kind. In 10 minits we feel like in our own house!

BUT when you said "the last few meters are a dirty road" it will better to say "THE LAST 500meters ARE A VERY,VERY DIRTY ROAD):i had a little Toyota Aygon & my daugther a Nissan micra which are almost unable to go down and to climb this "road" Only my son who rented a PoloVW had no problem.

We arrived at 20hoo and there is no shop ,no mini market 20 km around: we had to run quickly to Nea Styra to buy something to eat (we were 10!)

I think that these 2 points are to be explain before...

All others is simply....fabulous!!!

Best regards

Owner's Response: Hello, and we are very happy that you had such a pleasant stay during your holiday. It was a pleasure for us to welcome you, and we thank you for your positive, as well as practical, review. It is certainly helpful to us as well as future guests. We hope to hear from you again when planning your next vacation. Kind regards, Alex PS. Works are to be made in the coming weeks to make the dirt road smoother, and as for the mini-markets, depending on the time of arrival, you can find some open close to the home. Otherwise you can find a super market at N.Styra when arriving via ferry boat.

Unique getaway

  • 5 of 5

Outstanding house in a unique location. Perfect for those who want to get away from it all, literally. It shares a picture-perfect bay with three (and a half) more houses, out of which only one appears to have permanent occupancy. This means that the beach is yours. We were often alone, and that is quite a feeling these days. Beach is excellent, water is crystal clear (haven't seen water so clear in years and we have traveled all over Greece) and there is plenty of natural shade. Beach itself and immediate entry into water are small pebbles, thereafter immediately powdery sand. The bay is facing westwards, so the sun sets around 8 pm, which means that late afternoons are wonderful. The only drawback to the beach was that, in previous years, we were spoiled by warm water at many beaches we visited in Greece. This was a bit colder (whether due to a bout of meltemi, underwater springs or currents, we do not know). Nevertheless, it was picture perfect and the cleanest water ever.

As for the house, it was outstanding. Unlike some properties that are rented with bare basics, this one is a living home, constructed, furnished and equipped with love and care (great library, sadly not with many English titles, excellent music collection). There is ample room for 8 (4 bathrooms means 4 couples can easily visit). We were a party of 6 (2 families of 2 adults and 1 kid each) and it was more than comfortable. Two fortes of the house are the kitchen (superbly equipped as the owners are into cooking) and the terrace - wonderful and peaceful views at all times. My favorite was the evening under the stars - we used house spotterscope a bit to the delight of the kids to look at the moon. While not a completely dark site, binoculars or travelscope are strongly encouraged to those who have them - great site for stargazing.

Being 'away from it all' does entail some compromises (to which we were prepared). Nearest taverna (an excellent one) is in Porto Buffalo, about 10 mins drive. You can order the food and they will prepare it for you to take it away. Fresh seafood is a bargain by island and mainland standards. Nearest big supermarket is around 30 kms away, nearest bakery and grocery around 20kms. We planned accordingly and it was no problem. Descent from the main road to the property initially looks steep, about 450m on the paved road. After you go down and up twice it is no problem at all. These are the trade-offs for having virtually your own beach.
