About Anne & Chris Mandale
We found this lovely, welcoming place in 2011 and left the UK to make L'Oseraie our home and set about bringing this amazing Chateau back into full use with appropriate facilities for guest enjoyment, but always trying to respect and preserve its character which so attracted us in the first place. We regard ourselves as the temporary guardians of the property. It has stood since 1875 and will hopefully outlast us. Our job now is preserving and nurturing a very small slice of history for others to enjoy long after we are gone.

Exceeded expectations. Fabulous property and hosts
The chateau was as beautiful as the pictures, both inside and out, which made for a fabulous atmosphere and glamourous surrounding for a very special occasion.
It’s a great location for Le Mans or just relaxing while enjoying the chateau and the surroundings. We hired the property as a family and it allowed us to do both depending on the individual preferences.
Chris and Anne went out if their way to ensure our stay went well even organising wine tasting and local visits to places of interest. They also provide a wonderful celebration meal for our entire party with local food and matched wines.
Would thoroughly recommend and am already trying to think of another reason to hire it!
Thank you very much. We really appreciate you taking time to post a review. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay and we would be very pleased to welcome you back anytime we can be of help to you in the future. Kind regards , Chris and Anne
An oasis of calm
We arrived later than expected due to strikes on the ferry, but adjustments were immediately made so we did not miss out on our evening meal. We were in bedroom 6, which is large with dual aspect views, a comfy sofa, and a superb bathroom.
Food was superb throughout, as was the service, and as the weather improved we had breakfast on our last day on the terrace, overlooking the meadows to the rear of the chateau. The location of the chateau could not be quieter, and is ideal for 'getting away from it all'.
Chris and Anne were perfect hosts and I cannot recommend the chateau high enough , either for someone wishing for a peaceful break, of for an overnight stop, between the ferries of Northern France, and resorts further south.
Thank you so much for taking the time to send your review. We are delighted to know how much you enjoyed your stay, and very much hope we might have the opportunity to welcome you back ! With kind regards, Anne & Chris

Thank you so much for taking the time to post your kind review! We are delighted you enjoyed your stay. Thank you so much ! It was our pleasure to welcome such friendly , considerate and genuinely happy guests to our home. We greatly enjoyed hosting your group and we would be delighted to welcome some or all of your party back to l'Oseraie in the future.
Stunning!!! Fabulous place to stay.
We have just returned from a fantastic break to the Chateau de L'Oseraie. The most beautiful B&B/self contained gites we have ever stayed in, with the most stunning views across the fields towards the river from our room. The web site description was accurate and photos really didn't do it justice! Rooms were very clean and well restored, and decorated in keeping with this beautiful grand house, with lovely soft towels, comfortable beds and lovely hot water. The grounds are 'endless' and the weather we had made strolling in the grounds fabulous. The owners went out of their way to make our break comfortable - breakfast was varied, tea/coffee making facilities available freely, good internet access, information relating to activities/sightseeing and restaurants available. We didn't realise how much there was to visit in the local area, and thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Angers castle, Musee Jean-Lurcat (beautiful modern tapestries) and driving around the city on the 'petit train', visiting a local medieval fayre, walking around the old village of St Dennis (10 mins drive away), and the purchasing of wine at a 'cave' in Brissac. We ate lovely meals in Tierce and Chateauneuf which were recommended by the owners. We would definitely recommend the Chateau de L'Oseraie to friends and family and look forward to visiting again.
