Very clean property but lacking in charm

  • 4 of 5

Very clean and tidy home. The owner was there to greet us and could not have been nicer. I do think it is good for families to know that there is no main living space. The bottom floor consists of a kitchen and small table but there is no living room for a family to gather in. There is a couch in the upstairs bedroom with a lovely view. I suppose you could walk into Harpers Ferry but it would be a long walk! I would suggest to the owner that he add some charm to this home. While it is very clean and neat, there is nothing to reflect the history that is Harpers Ferry. Plain white walls with no pictures or memorabilia have all the charm of a boring hotel room. Certainly satisfactory but could be so much more interesting!. Had a great stay overall. Thanks for sharing your property with my family and me.

Clean & Unique Rental

  • 5 of 5

By far one of cleanest dog friendly stays we have ever had. Which was great because we were stuck inside over half our trip due to storms and bad weather.Glad we could enjoy the house. We did use the outside stairs to bring in the luggage and walk the dog as the spiral staircase was too difficult for her. The outside steps worked just fine though and we loved the little deck off the bedroom and so did our dog. For us it was an easy walk to down town Harpers Ferry. Yes, it is up hill on the way back. We really liked the wine store down town. Wished we could have gone to the parks but it was raining. The kitchen had everything we needed. It was quiet, clean, close to historical sights and places to eat. Property owners were easy to work with and again the cleanest rental you could ever ask for! We would rent here again if we are ever back in the area.

Lovely place near historic district

  • 4 of 5

Very bright, modern and clean house with a sprinkling of antiques. Short drive or 20 minute walk to the wonderful historic area of Harpers Ferry. Close to other activities such as zip lining centre. Owner was helpful and engaged before, during and after stay.

Great Place

  • 5 of 5

This was a great place to get away. Just a short drive from Baltimore area to this beautiful mountainside home. The owner was very friendly and provided everything you need for a comfortable stay in this rental. We enjoyed visiting the state park and hiking to the Old Town. We also went bike riding on the C&O Canal trail. The breakfast food and service was great at The Country Cafe which is just a short walk away.

Quite Charming

  • 5 of 5

The home owner, Erik, was such a pleasure to work with. The cozy and charming mountain house was much more than we had expected! The house was immaculant and fully stocked with everything that you would need to have a relaxing weekend in Harper's Ferry! (Clean bath towels, extra linens, toliet paper, paper towels, hand soap, dishwashing soap, laundry detergent...just wait until you see the labels in the linen closet!) Erik has really thought about his guest and truely believes in providing a clean comfortable organized home. The views from the top room and the deck are amazing! The spiral staircase might be a challenge for small children or some adults - definitely gave me a workout! It was a lovely walk down the street to the town of Harper's Ferry but after eating dinner and then frozen custard- it's a small hike uphill back to the house. The outdoor shower is awesome! Especially after a full day of tubing on the river. We would definitely rent this house again!
