Spacious cottage in a small hamlet within easy walking distance of Huelgoat. Set in the Parc National D'Armorique, less than 1 hour from Roscoff. Recently renovated but retaining many original features, including exposed beams and a granite fireplace. A sunny garden with picnic table, bbq and our own huge granite boulder so typical of the area. Origionally a pair of cottages, now one detached dwelling with a bright modern kitchen equiped with dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier etc. Three bedrooms, double en-suite with shower, 2 twin bedrooms, family bathroom. The large lounge dining room has a DVD player stereo system with ipod dock and a piano for those who prefer their music live. There is also a toilet and wash basin on the ground floor.
Had a great week in this lovely spacious house which is in a quiet hamlet just outside Huelgoat.
The house has everything you need, including a piano, so no excuse so for not keeping up your practice (sorry neighbours). There's great communication from the owners about any query.
Perfect location in easy cycling or walking distance from the town, and with bike or walking routes in all directions straight from the house. We brought our own bikes but the owners have left some for guests to use, and there's a shed for safe storage.
We enjoyed exploring the various eating and drinking places around the central town square - the Brittany Pub is good for beer and basic food, the Hotel du Lac is a nice spot for drinking (rather expensive) beer looking over the lake, and it's well worth seeking out the Autre Rive in the woods up behind Huelgoat, a bar/cafe/bookshop in a beautiful forest setting.
Excellent facilities, and very handy for a stroll into town. We would all go there again. Clive, the owner, was very helpful and made space for our bikes in the shed. It was all so clean and tidy. A warning to cyclists - the final approach is very steep! We enjoyed Huelgoat and tried the Hotel du Lac for an evening meal. The Coreff beer in the Brittany Pub was very good, and served in real pint glasses. The walk around the lake and down through the grotto is worth doing. Ideally placed for a cycling base; less than 40 miles from the Roscoff ferry.
This place exceeded our expectations. A brilliant location for cycling and walking: the peaceful hamlet of Kerbizien is a 15 minute stroll from Huelgoat with its forest parc, shops, restaurants, markets and lake. The creperie in the town square was excellent and good value. The house was as described, well maintained and the owner was friendly and helpful. We particuarly enjoyed eating our morning croissants and baguettes sitting on top of the huge rock that is a feature of the secluded garden. Efficient central heating plus an open granite fireplace. We highly recommended.
This place exceeded our expectations. Tranquil location, warm clean house and everything provided, We could walk into Huelgoat withing fiften minutes and then sit on the huge rock in the secluded garden to eat our croissants and take in the views, Brilliant as a walking and cycling base; we shall definitely return.
