Overview

About the property

1 bedroom apartment with bathroom, kitchen, large lounge/dining room and terrace

LOCATION

Perfectly situated between the Trastevere and Testaccio areas of ancient Rome, this beautiful, clean, modern apartment is located on the 6th floor (with large lift) of a quiet, new (2011) building.

Trastevere is possibly the most beautiful and typically Roman area, famous for its narrow, cobbled streets, full of traditional restaurants, bars, pizzerias and small boutique shops open until late every night. From the apartment, you can take a leisurely stroll to this bustling and vibrant area or hop on and off the tram as you please, whilst still being just far enough away for a good night’s sleep!

Across the river, which can be seen from the apartment window, you will find Testaccio. Famous for its tasty trattorias and daily market. This area is popular with artists and writers and has become one of the most sought after areas to live in Rome.

If you love wandering around markets and want to experience ‘real’ Roman life and pick up a bargain at the same time, make sure you’re here on a Sunday morning, when you will find the famous Porta Portese market literally on your doorstep!

If you are looking for a park, you are not far from the amazing Villa Doria Pamphili – a seventeenth-century villa with what is today the largest landscaped public park in Rome. It is located in the Monteverde area and can easily be reached from the apartment. This park really comes alive at the weekend and, if you have a little extra time to spare, it is not to be missed. There is even a cute bistro where you can get an English breakfast!

TRANSPORT

The apartment is 250 metres from the No.8 tram stop which connects Piazza Venezia, in the historic centre, with the popular district of Trastevere. The tram also stops at Trastevere's railroad station, where commuter trains run to Fiumicino Airport and the cruise port of Civitavecchia. In addition, there is a bus stop in front of the main building. Using either of these methods, you will have easy access to all the major historical sites: Piazza Venezia, the Bocca della Verità, the Pantheon, Campo dei Fiori, and across the river to the Castel Sant’Angelo and the Vatican Museums.

Taking the tram, you will arrive in Trastevere in 4 stops (approximately 10 minutes) and the centre in 7 stops (approximately 15 minutes). The tram runs every 6 minutes.

From the end of the tram line, you can easily walk to the Trevi Fountain, the beautiful Spanish Steps and the shopping area of Via del Corso or for the big spender, the splendid Via dei Condotti, where you will find Gucci, Prada, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and other top designers.

AROUND THE APARTMENT

If you’re tired after a day of sightseeing, there are lots of trattorias, pizzerias, and small restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the apartment, where you can taste typical Roman cuisine. In fact there is even a restaurant, pizzeria, ice cream shop and cafe (serving excellent pastries and coffee for breakfast) on the ground floor of the building itself! For all essentials, or just to have a browse around, there is a well stocked supermarket literally next door.

Within walking distance you can find banks, local bakeries, clothes shops, tabacconists (where you can purchase travel tickets), doctors and dentists.

THE APARTMENT

The apartment consists of a large, spacious lounge with a fully equipped kitchen, a double bedroom and bathroom, and has all the amenities necessary to ensure you have a comfortable and hassle free stay.

The spacious bedroom has a large double/kingsize bed (154cm x 211cm) with a brand new, comfortable mattress. There is a wardrobe to hang your clothes, a table for your luggage, two bedside tables, each with reading light and ample storage space. The large french window opens out onto the terrace, so you can lie in bed and let the Rome sunshine in!

The brightly-lit living room has a large, comfortable, properly structured double sofa bed and a 32-inch high-resolution LCD TV. There is a DVD/Blu-ray player if you fancy a night in or have kids to entertain. A selection of DVD’s/books can be provided upon request (a list of available titles can be found in the welcome pack upon arrival). There is an extendable table and four chairs in the dining area of the lounge.

The kitchen, which forms an L-shape in the corner of the lounge, has everything you need including crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, a dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave and kettle.

High quality bed linen and towels are provided during your stay.

The bathroom has a toilet, bidet, large sink and shower. There is a hairdryer and a cabinet below the sink for storage.

The large terrace (25 square metres) looks over the open courtyard within the building, so you can relax peacefully during the day and night. With comfortable terrace furniture, you are able to while away the hours reading, drinking a glass of prosecco or even sunbathing during the warmer months.

All furnishings and fittings are new and of high quality. A washing machine, clothes stand, pegs and washing machine detergent are all provided for your use.

WiFi access, air conditioning in every room and independent central heating complete the features of the property.

CHILDREN: As a family, we understand the difficulties of travelling with children and we aim to help by providing, upon request, a cot bed and linen, toys, books, DVD’s, a steriliser, car seats and high chair. If you need anything else, please feel free to ask – we may be able to provide it!

About Adeline

I moved from the UK to Rome ten years ago and now live here with my husband and children. My husband was born and raised in Rome and indeed we live near to the apartment because we believe it to be the best area of the city!

Adeline purchased this apartment in 2011

Why Adeline chose Rome

This property is in a fantastic location for travellers. It's very close to a tram that takes you into the heart of the city and yet just far enough away from bars/pubs/restaurants to ensure you can sleep/relax when you want. It was built recently and therefore is clean and modern - we believe it's beautiful to visit ancient Rome during the day but when it comes to somewhere to stay, the priorities are that it's fully functioning, well maintained and clean. The apartment is big enough to allow you to set up a little home from home while you're here but not so big that you have to spend a fortune. Being between Trastevere and Testaccio allows you very easy access to great restaurants and cafes and ensures you live the 'real' Rome while you're here.

We have also realised over the years that travelling with children, whilst fun and great for the family, can be more of a chore than a holiday, so we started using holiday homes rather than hotels and b&b's. We found that way we could come and go as we pleased and be completely independent. We really hope that we can make your holiday as pleasant as possible in the beautiful eternal city by providing a clean, modern apartment with all the amenities you need (plus others - just ask, we might have them) and share our love for the city by offering advice/suggestions of where to go and what to see and most importantly where to eat and drink!

A delightful apartment in a safe and convenient location

  • 5 of 5

Our first trip to Rome was delightful and our accommodations were perfect. The apartment is located near the train station, shops, trams, restaurants, etc. It is close to the heart of Trastavere (you can walk or take the tram) and a short walk to the Tiber (where you can run or walk on a paved path) and Mercado Testaccio and the surrounding Testaccio neighborhood.

The #8 and #3 trams gave us easy access to Rome's many neighborhoods, the Metro and Rome's train stations. (You can take a 30-minute train ride from Trastavere to Fuimicino Airport for $8.)

The apartment is spacious, clean and quiet. Adeline and her husband made us feel welcome. Adeline was on hand to greet us and her husband quickly replaced a burned-out bathroom light bulb.

The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare breakfasts and the occasional light meal.

The balcony was a great place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or a glass of wine after a day of enjoying Rome. (There is also a washing machine and a drying rack.)

We ate mainly in the older part of Trastavere and elsewhere in Rome but also enjoyed a couple of meals in the eateries on the street level of the apartment building.

We got an unexpected treat on our last night when the annual St. Francis parade (band, clergy, candle-bearing youngsters and adults) stopped traffic on the main street for a half hour. The flea market that fills the neighborhood streets on some Sunday mornings was indeed massive.

Thanks, Adeline, for a wonderful place to stay.

Modern, spacious and immaculate.

  • 5 of 5

Adeline was very welcoming, she took us through the necessary workings of the apartment and took a genuine interest in us as travellers.

The apartment block is well positioned, and in a gated secure area. All of the amenities of the apartment are five star, and the modern kitchen, the bedroom , lounge and the large modern bathroom were exactly as advertised. We sat on the balcony at night and enjoyed the scene over a meal.

The supermarket nearby is quite large and has everything if you want to self- cater. If you want to experience a local market, cross the River Tiber and walk in the Mercato Testiccio area.

The Osteria Maruzella is a good place to eat , and is at street level in the complex.

All in all, this is an excellent apartment to stay. We were at the end of our travels and were to fly home, and our stay in Apartment Ventinove was a great end to relax before the flight home.

Adeline arranged for a taxi to take us to the airport at 5:45 am, and confirmed later that the taxi would arrive.

This is an excellent place to stay and we would like to thank Adeline for her assistance.

Even better than I had anticipated it would be!

  • 5 of 5

From the very moment I found this apartment and began exchanging emails with Adeline, I had nothing but good vibes about this apartment - and I was not wrong. We had been to Rome several times before, but Trastevere was a relatively unfamiliar area to us and we much preferred being just slightly away from the main tourist area. The apartment was perfect for our needs and was so clean! I had no hesitation about putting my clean clothes in the drawers and there wasn't a insect in sight.

What made it all so perfect for us was that the apartment was equipped with everything we needed (Including a washing machine), there was so much space and the balcony was massive - much bigger than I had anticipated. I Although we had come equipped, Adeline provided everything that we might need and I can't wait to return! I recommend the pasticceria downstairs as well as the excellent supermarket next door. To sum up; the apartment was perfect in every way and we felt that we were at home, which doesn't always happen in rented places.

Wonderful apartment in great location

  • 5 of 5

My boys(19 and 22) stayed here while in Rome and loved it! Apartment was clean and well-equipped. Balcony was great for afternoon naps. Washing machine and supplies were a plus to clean clothing before moving to next city. Apartment is very secure, quiet and conveniently located to tram stop. Restaurants in building at street level were nice and convenient. Adeline was absolutely great! Provided great information in a timely manner before trip and then was very helpful with answering questions when we arrived. A truly wonderful experience. JoAnn , Luke and Will - USA

Top notch apartment

  • 5 of 5

Perfect apartment in great location. Location: 5 min walk or 1 stop on number 3 or 8 tram from Trastevere station (25 min / 8 Euro to Fiumicino Airport, trains every 15 mins). Easy links to most places using the same tram services.

Modern, secure apartment....everything works!! Spacious apartment for 2 people. Our 21yr old daughter stayed with us on the sofa bed and consequently we tended to use the huge balcony as a communal/dining area.

The apartment is in a residential area away from the tourist hordes, lots of restaurants, cafes and supermarket within 100m.

English-born owner Adeline fantastic to deal with, great communications even after I screwed up the booking dates! Couldn't fault the place, superb.
