About Robert Myers
I am a lifetime member of the Wasatch Mountain Club (WMC) and participated in the formation of the WMC Foundation. Since 2010, this charitable 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization has owned and operated the Wasatch Mountain Lodge.
Robert Myers purchased this Lodge in 1929
Why Robert Myers chose Brighton Mountain Resort
If you are looking for a rustic stay in one of the very few original log structures built in the Brighton area, you have found it. The lodge was built in 1929, and its historic feel has been preserved. A few modern updates have been added over time, such as flushing toilets, hot showers, potable mountain water, a modern kitchen, and both hot water and forced-air heating systems.
What makes this Lodge unique
The Lodge is located right in the Brighton skiing terrain, a short 300 feet out of the Brighton parking lot, so you can ski in and out during the winter months. In the summer you will find abundant wildlife, since the Lodge is located above the base facilities in the trees. At the back of the Lodge you can enjoy dining in nature on a large patio and barbecue area with picnic tables. The Lodge is a short distance from the hiking trailheads, with easy access to cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, and mountain biking.

This place was perfect for my wedding reception. Plenty of space indoors and outdoors. Can’t beat the scenery!
Summer Solstice Celebration
Property was rustic and beautiful, very functional space that we used to host a wedding celebration. We had a band, all the tables set up with the bar out on the patio and had about 80 guests. Guests walked up the access road due to the late snow on the normal trail. The caretaker was available for questions via text which was helpful.
Great open cabin in the woods for a wedding or large event!
We loved having our wedding at this cabin. It worked great for our needs and we had 95 guests. The tables and chairs on site were available for our use which was very helpful. The kitchen was spacious to accommodate catering for our event. We found out last minute that we could have used a snowmobile which would have been extremely helpful at this time of year, but there were handcarts on site which were still helpful for us to use since we didn't have a snowmobile.
The Wasatch Mountain Club was great working with us planing a event there. They were easy to communicate with and the building is a beautiful historic site. I will be going back here for many more events.
Overall a good experience.
Unfortunate Parking Situation
5th time renting the space and we have thoroughly enjoyed our time there and our interactions with Todd. We find him very helpful and friendly.
However this year we were uninformed about the new parking conditions. This created a rather major headache for us throughout the evening as no one was prepared for it and we had to spend a lot of our time shuttling and figure out parking for our group. I understand this is an issue between the lodge and Brighton, but the bigger problem for us was we were not informed before arriving. We paid the same price as last year and expected to receive the same amenities.
Moving forward, please keep your renters well informed and in communication about issues.
