There’s golf and Hilton view, ocean view and then there’s oceanfront and a world of difference in between. In reality there is only a very small percentage of rent-able properties that can claim oceanfront on the entire Kohala Coast. The moment you walk into our professionally designed, Hawaiian adorned Villa, you will unexpectedly look past the inviting furnishings and gaze upon the ocean. Irresistibly, you walk to the lanai, open the door, hear the waves crashing, smell the sea spray, perhaps glimpse a breaching whale and know you have chosen wisely. The lanai and grassed area adjoining it, is the most private of the oceanfront properties in Hali’i Kai. It is also the most convenient to the Ocean Club. How can that be? You have to see it to believe it, but our website and Youtube video can help. See website below.
We offer three beautifully adorned bedrooms with the master looking directly to the ocean. Open the window and sleep to the magic of rhythmic waves washing the shoreline. A large kitchen, with professional grade appliances and relaxing living area offers plenty of comfort for large families or friends, although the lanai and grass lawn is where you’ll probably spend most of your time. However, if you want even more space, walk next door to the clubhouse & restaurant..
What view are you looking for? Golf course and neighboring buildings or Maui and the ocean. From our lanai you gaze upon the ocean from the living area and be immersed in it from the Lanai and you won't have anyone sitting across from your lanai looking at you or you at them. You will marvel at the feeling that you have it all to yourself because it is a rare private setting. During the winter the whales are up close and entertaining. If you're looking for the best oceanfront Villa at one of the most recognized resorts in Hawaii, you've found it.
Blessed with a scant ten inches of rainfall annually, most days in Waikoloa are sun drenched and cooled by the ocean breezes. The activities are endless, but you may just want to lay in the shade and do absolutely nothing.
Our vacation home offers a California king-size bed, queen-size bed and two twin beds. Our home is a wonderful place to make lifelong memories with family or friends. Our home is restricted from pets and smoking. Welcome to paradise!
THE place to stay!
Felt like a private home right on the sea. The views are fantastic! You can see the ocean from the kitchen, dining, living and master suite, but we practically lived on the lanai--absolutely gorgeous!
The kitchen was first class-plus the grill at the clubhouse right next door was great for "happy hour", sunsets, and meeting other guests. Everyone raved about the place. We loved being right next to the clubhouse as we walked to the hot tub almost every night.
Master suite is special.
We'll Definitely be back!

Every morning, breakfasting on the lanai, we watched whales breaching 200-300 yards offshore. The home is literally 50 feet from a private club that serves great MaiTais's at sunset, and has a wonderful open air fitness center (also whale watching on the treadmill., an amenity we didn't realize was available when we booked). The outside BBQ and kitchen were well equipped and well used. Laundry unit , parking , access. The owners were responsive, and on site management very helpful. This location is on Kon's 'Gold coast" with the best weather , sun on almost all of Hawaii. Shopping, groceries (expensive) all nearby. Even a Costco and Walmart about 20 miles into downtown Kona. The drive to the top of Mauna Kea is only 90 minutes from the door. Watch the sunset, incredible MilkyWay stars, and we had snow to bring back and build a snowman on the beach.. You'll love this place.
A super condo! Very clean and in an excellent location. We had 5 adults, and could have had a couple more with no problem. I have been coming to all of the islands for many years as pat of my business. This was an opportunity to have the rest of my family join me on one of my favorite islands. During the week we did 5 dives, a helicopter ride over Mauna Lea, and sampled some outstanding restaurants. This condo served as a great location, and the accommodation itself could not have been better. Kirstie and Bill could not have been more responsive and cooperative during the booking process. Highest recommendation.
This is a top-notch unit in a great location.
The Waikoloa Beach area is virtually guaranteed to give you the driest and clearest weather on the island. Then, within the Waikoloa Beach area, there are only a few relatively "oceanfront" units, and this is one of them.
(I say "'relatively' oceanfront," because all of the oceanfront units in the area are situated quite a ways back from the water. This unit is probably 100 yards from the water, and the water directly in front of the unit is inaccessible, because the property is situated atop a 60'-ish lava cliff. You can get a good sense of this if you view the property on Google Earth.)
The unit is nicely / comfortably furnished and well stocked. We traveled with our two young children, and the unit suited us very well. The unit has a pack-n'-play and a high chair, so we didn't need to pack or rent those. Also, the unit is an end unit, and the two kids' rooms are on the side of the unit that does not share a wall with the adjacent unit; that was nice for us and probably for the neighbor.
The unit is also right next door to the beach club, which has a pool, restaurant, and bar. That was great for us, because our kids loved to use the pool, which is very shallow (1.5' - 4') and warm. We'd wondered how loud the noise would be from the beach club. But during our 9-day stay, we hardly heard anyone at all in the club. We could only faintly hear the very loudest "Marco! Polo!" screams from the pool and the very loudest groans and cheers from the folks who were watching sports at the bar. Notably, the resort automatically charges an additional $10/day plus tax for guests in the unit to use the beach club. For us, it was worth it. If you don't plan to use the beach club, I didn't get the sense that the fee was waivable.
Because the unit is an end unit, it is indeed relatively private. The only foot traffic that we saw was when people would traverse the historic trail that's directly in front of the unit a few times a day. The only relative downside to this being an end unit was that the beach club next door obstructs the view of the ocean, such that the unit only has about a 90-degree view of the ocean. This is barely noticeable from inside the unit, but is noticeable from the lanai.
We had a great experience with the owners, who were very responsive, friendly, and accommodating.
The three properties we occupied with family were fine. One had been smoked in and was not aware it was a smoking unit. One had a couple of maintence issues but were addressed quickly. My biggest probl is the low quality pf service at the restaurant and towel people. Poor attitudes Treated the owners they knew differently and it was obvious. Need two people to open the restaurant not one for lunch. Rules only apploed to certain people not for everyone. The kids were loud snorkeling in the hot tub and unattended by parents. Hated the attitudes
We have been to the islands of Hawaii about 20 times. This was our first time at this location. We found it comfortable and ideal for our three-generation party of 6. Being Christmas break, there were many other groups like ours so the grandkids (10, 10 and 11 ) quickly had playmates at the next door pool. The pool area has a great many lounge chairs, tables and out of the sun covered seating so even though this was busy time of the year, we had no problem getting places to sit and watch the sunset, eat snacks or dinner purchased from the bar area, or just hang out and sunbath. Happy hour from 2-5 pm was very popular. The staff and guests/owners were friendly. Use of the unit requires a $10 a day (resort fee) charged when you check in at the community desk when you arrive. But this fee gives use of towels at the pool which is worth this fee alone! Hapuna Beach Park is just a short drive up the road with lots of parking and only $5 a day-use fee. Showers, bathrooms, beach rental stuff, food/snacks. This is a definitely a great place to stay if you are planning a visit to the Big Island.
