North Fork House Rental Photos and Description

House- 3 Bedrooms + Den, 2.5+ Baths-1 shower, 1 jacuzzi bath.(Sleeps 10-12)

Five-acre Lot Great views of back country sierras of Yosemite. Near Badger Pass and China Peak ski areas. Behind Mammoth and Base Lake, and North Fork. We have parking in a 4 car driveway/no garage access. Parking is limited to 4 outdoor vehicles.

Twenty-four-hundred square foot, three-bedroom, two bathroom, home, with upgraded granite stainless steel stove, very pretty kitchen for the ultimate cooking in a cabin experience. Property is at 2800 elevation. Hardwood maple floors , modest, nice, furnishings. A mountain home that you can also relax into. Jacuzzi bath tub and marble and travertine complete your bathing experience. Well laid out kitchen, stocked with all cooking utensils, and dishes and basic spices for at home comforts.

You will appreciate the privacy and view of mountains from the kitchen, den and living rooms interconnecting to one another. sink into relaxation sitting time on the wraparound deck and full star-gazing at night and -mountain views in the daytime.

Once Vacationers come to the Yosemite Scenic Loop they are amazed at all there is available. The rivers across our way, lakes, boating, swimming beaches even at the lake, with Angel Falls that slide right into the lake for family fun and inner tubing. We have access to amenities 1/2 mile to gas, grocery, Bass Lake ranger station, shops and restaurants, video store. You can fish and swim nearby as well as access full Yosemite park up 274 exit out our entrance.

Visit the Indian Mono Museum by our house and take a tour of the 40 mile loop trail of lakes, such as Redinger, Mammoth

Pools and back country best camping with no crowds! Even in summer we have back country access to Meadows, rivers, mountains and easy

access to elevations from 3000 to 7000 to be cool in summer or get to snow in winter. Don't miss the a pretty house instead of a common dusty cabin that is locked in with no views, we have a good feeling location on the hill looking out and no one looking in.

1/10 mi road to house from well maintained road 1/10 mile from turn off to bass lake and yosemite, (we are the scenic route, yosemite scenic by way, one mile to bass lake ranger station, north fork grocery store, a few eateries , and stores. gas station ) of which which there are none inside the park so folks stay in small towns often for good roads and local things to do.

WE have three local year round waterfalls in 7 to 10 miles of the house . Cascadel Falls, Angel falls at Bass Lake, and Whiskey Creek falls.

We are 26 minutes to the south entrance according to driving notes in my review from a tenant as well as our experience driving into south entrance which is the entrance that has the giant grizzly seqoias. The yosemite train is also outside the park on the way in from our house on hi way 41, before the south entrance.

Behind the house is a school yard, which you cannot see but can hike to the top of in 5 minutes and cross over, for a football field, baseball field. tennis court, playground etc and occasional adult yoga class by a previous neighbor gym teacher of mine. WE have yoga one mile in town as well in case you want a local activity as well as the Mono Indian museum is catty corner behind us in 1/10 mile.

We bought this property to Vacation and eventually retire in Yosemite / Bass Lake area.. In the meantime we share it with others for their retreats and vacations when we are at our other lovely vacation homes.

WE are professional Retreat Teachers in the Healing Arts and medical field, owning 6 peaceful retreat rentals at spots we love. Liza's private practice is in psychology counseling and Naturopathic Medicine/Nutrition and is also a Dental Hygienist. Mike is a world class Yoga teacher. Our passion is nature and homes, design and architecture. We love to make our homes available for others to enjoy and take very good care of them, with caretakers available to meet the needs of our homes and renters, as well as being hands on ourselves, at getting new furnishings, planting flowers in Yosemite or

Minutes from Bass Lake and the beauty of the Sierra Nevada leading into Yosemite National Park. One mile to town for gas, groceries, post office, coffee and shops yet in the mountains bordering nearby river and swimming, easy to get to. Three local waterfalls and three lakes, 2 miles, 5 miles and 12 miles from house.

What makes this house unique

Bass Lake nearby and just a short drive into Yosemite National Parks South gates, in 26 minutes posted by renters on our reviews and our experience also. Many amenities, stores, bar and grill, dining out, post office one mile from house.. Close to Badger Pass and China Peak ski areas. Three local waterfalls in 7 to 10 miles, Cascadel, Angel Falls and Whiskey falls offering local hiking and off the beaten road track no crowds or less as known more to locals who know the inside and outside of the Yosemite by way.

WE loved the house and the area. We are vacation rental maids in Los Angeles and needed a get away, we work so hard. Our kids loved it since they could walk to the ball parks and swing sets behind the property but is hidden and quiet. The views out were better than the other houses we stayed at in past years, which had none. The trees and rolling hills made a private spot yet just a few hundred feet to a perfect main road.We visited local falls, like cascadel of a friend of the owners and spent time at the river and drove into the park in 26 minutes, as well as we are only 5 miles to the bass lake dam where we walked our dogs and had a big sky , beauty, restaurants, hiking and more to do than even inside the park. This house was clean and had good vibes as well as not having to drive to everything inside the 90 square mile park which we found stunning but you have to drive inside to anything, this house we could play at the museum, rivers, lakes, domes and hike, the outside inside park, yosemite by way. We found the owners through VRBO and were impressed to find it clean, since I am a clean freak, and we visited this home many times. I told the owner she could post my notes as we dont get online that often, so busy cleaning other vacation rentals, and this one was CLEAN and beautiful with lots to do, great for kids and families to hang out without having to drive all day.

Beautiful Kitchen, Temperpedic King Bed, View

My husband and I love to cook, and get away to the montains without having to go out to eat all the time so we rented this house for the Kitchen and easy access from the city. The granite counters and views while cooking made it a great mountain experience for our family. The house had ceiling fans and AC although it was as yosemite is in our past experience hot in summer, we wanted to see the waterfalls before it would be fall and no waterfalls. We rented this for our kids to be close to swimming and a ball park which was a minute drive to where the Loggers Jamboree is held and we came after so we had the luxury of the swimming hole to ourselves. The owner lives next door to the owners and they have it available across the steet at the north fork community center sign, just ask the staff if you dont see it. We saw the lazy review and everything is so convenient here and the park itself is rugged with no place but very expensive hot hotels as its cooler here by far than inside the park. We heard about the trees and drought and from past trips camped outside but we heard it rained a lot this year so we wanted to take advantage of the blend of years of to dry but now huge waterfall activity. Also bass lake only 5 miles north to the dam is a favorite docking place for us to boat and only 7 miles to downtown bass lake dining at the grill on the water with the best prices and food around with water seating views. The small town this house is by has quick access to grocery store, and several restaurants and yoga classes. WE were so comfortable on the temperpedic king bed and all the beds and all other beds queen or twin have toppers. We invited two extra kids and they were able to bunk in the den and the owner takes extra people on request, so we asked and the kids had their friends sleep over time. The area was convenient to get up the mountain and the park a 1/2 hour drive but through the lake so we stopped of to swim when we weren't walking to the swim hole by the house on day one and two and we are coming back in august for longer as we can please the kids with this area, and not be only in the remote park. Our kids used to cry inside the park becuase it was so rugged and they got hot and no swimming. We decided to get a house outside the park for all the perks yet in the moutains and close to the lake, walk to the swimming hold and minutes from shopping. The owners and staff were very accommodating. We found a nice get away from it all and easy drive up.

Nice home. Location was not what I expected when reading posting.

House in off the main road on a dry dusty drive way. The house is on a well water so you have to monitor your water usage. On the posting of this house it listed washer and dryer and we did not have one. It was so hot outside and dry it was over 104' and posting of this house mention a swimming creak near by the house and we could not find one maybe it's dry for the summer. Bass lake was about 30- 35 min away from the house and hour to Yousemite was a drive away. To the main gate it was about 45-1 hour drive.

I think this location would be good for the winter months when you would not have to monitor your water usage, with a 2 year old it was really challenging with the heat, limited water and AC usage.

Also you have to take care of your own trash now that's really hard and smelly when you have dippers that you have to transport to a trash can as your driving home. Not very fun.

Owner was nice and the rental lady who greated us at the house was amazing.

I wanted to be honest and give a true accounting of my experience.

Owner's Response: Traveler did not use our AC ? ODD. She TOOK "WRONG EXIT" road 222 which winds all the way around, not 274 which is direct straight line to lake and park . Bass lake is 5 miles from us if you take 274 exit. Tenant ignored Map on booking site and coffee table with all our flyers and website before booking and after arrival on our coffee table : how to get to local sites quickly on local roads including the ranger station maps one mile from our house. All previous Traveler reviews post south gates are 26 miles and 26 minutes to south entrance . She took the wrong road 222 which winds all the way around, not 274 which is direct straight line to lake and park. Bass lake is 5 miles from us if you take 274 exit. The creek is a water reserve swim area 3/10 mile from our house, our neighbor owns and shares with the community the renter did not ask. We have central AC and ceiling fans and when my worker arrived to check them out they had the AC off did not know how to use it. Our dirt road is less than 1/10 mile with private views. Summer is dusty, but the best visited destination in the US but we are in a drought, YET same high temps in yosemite for summer since 1940s, nothing new to the area, in fact we are 10 degrees less than the valley of the park so dont come in JULY for 90-100 On booking each renter receives location info: Walking distance 3/10 m to largest river swim hole & bass lake beach swimming is 5-7 miles away. Yosemite is 90 square miles and is a drive for everyone to the VALLEY from any house as there are no houses inside the valley only 3 hotels over $300-500 nt. The drought is well known nation wide, we have lost 6 million trees in yosemite and everyone is on well water and its a state mandatory issue to conserve unless you are ignorant and blame it on the house. I think more people need to wake up to the state water conservation by our governor and start preserving resources. The moutains with wild animals and bears, we ask same as a campsite not to put your trash outside to not attract bears, and if you cannot take it to the dump and its smelling we do it but there is a drop of fee of $15. This woman simply is not reading or communicating and we have many grateful guests , but city people are not respecting the country like you can do what you want here but not at home. Like leave feces diapers in a trash in summer heat means contamination and maggots but she calls it having to take out her own trash, Very non green greedy thinky on resources

November Getaway

We had a nice time relaxing with family during our weekend in November. The kitchen worked very well to prepare a nice big family dinner one evening. Also, the living room worked great to keep the place warm. We actually had to put the fire out a few times because it was too warm. It was easy to get to Yosemite from the house too. Also, we didn't see any neighbors and had a lot of privacy.

My husband and I had a great stay in the house. It was clean, quiet and peaceful. The house sleeps 10+ people, We only booked for two people and thought we would share the house with others but we were very lucky and had the whole house for the entire time.

North Fork Vacation Rental

This home was very spacious and quiet with a lovely view. We chose this rental because of its proximity to Yosemite which is about 40 minutes away to the entrance. We did not realize how large Yosemite is, however, so we spent many hours driving to and from and in the park to experience as much as we could in the week we were there. If we had to do it again we would have stayed closer to the park. We drove to Mariposa one day and we ate in several local restaurants in Oakhurst (which is also where the large grocery stores are) and Fish Camp which had been recommended by the owner and were very good. Several things the owner might consider: providing a blowdryer, replacing the sheets on the king bed with ones that don't slip off, updating/replacing the outdoor furniture on the porch and back yard (several chairs are broken), and cleaning up/beautifying the outside a bit. Some things to consider as well if you choose this home: You will be charged for propane and for using certain lights. You also are responsible to dispose of your trash. There is a nearby transfer station which we used but if your flights are early in the morning as ours were, we had to bring our last nights trash with us to the airport to dispose of. For the amount of money we paid for this home, we felt a bit nickeled and dimed. The owner was responsive to all questions.

Great vacation rental, close to Bass Lake & Yosemite.

Everyone loved the house/cabin. Large kitchen, large dining/living room. Plenty of sleeping room for up to 10-11 people. We cooked breakfast and dinner everyday. The grills in the backyard came in very handy. Spent two days at Yosemite, though it is a good 11/2 hours to Yosemite Valley. Spent two days at Bass Lake which is only 15 minutes away. Rented a boat on the lake one of the days and had a great time. I highly recommend this rental. It is a great home away from home.
