Why Kristin Treadway chose Wrightsville
This quaint boating community is one of the few navigable areas along the Susquehanna River. We purchased this secluded cabin because of its central location; only 35 minutes from Hershey, 20 minutes from Lancaster & York and less then an hour from Baltimore, with all the conveniences of shopping, dining and entertainment.

Nice weekend at the cabin
Enjoyed our short getaway at this wooded cabin. Nicely appointed bedroom and bathroom. Enjoyed the fresh water creek out front and room for the dog to roam in the back, as well as the hiking trail which starts just across the gravel road and connects with some interesting national heritage trail areas nearby. Visited a local winery on a nice late summer day. Good place for any couple or small family to get away for a while.
I could get lost for day's reading on the porch by the creek or exploring this quaint riverside village. So glad you enjoyed your stay.
Dangerous bedroom door steps
My reservation was for 3 adults and 1 child. The cabin had only 3 bath towels. They need to leave more large trash bags. Only were 2 and we had to put rest of trash in small bags. The door out the bedroom is very dangerous because of the steps. Also in living room with the dining table being so close to the steps our chair toppled over twice when we got up. Would not rent again because of the steps.
We are sorry to hear you were disappointed with your stay. We do have extra storage in hidden places that we would be able to direct you to if something got missed. Please just give us a call when you notice something not there and we will get it taken care of. There are few steps in the cabin besides the ones up to the loft. There are only 3 steps into the bedroom and I would not say they are dangerous, one just needs to be aware of them because they jut up to the loft steps, making it an unusual layout. I checked our photos and we do not have one showing the steps but will get one posted shortly. We realize cabins are not for everyone but we love the charm of this one. Agreed the one chair does sit close to the steps. We went ahead and switched the chairs around so no chair is placed close to the steps. This does put 2 guest with their backs to the stone fireplace, but everyone is welcome to arrange the chairs to their preference when dining. There is also enough space to move it over away from the steps when dining.
Everything was good, location, property itself, communication. We only had one issue, which was that there were no blinds/shades on any of the windows, so at zero dark thirty when the sun comes up, light is coming in all the rooms.
It also should be noted (this has nothing to do with the property itself or its management, just as an FYI for those that might be interested) that we were expecting to be able to walk into the river to swim, but you cannot. You will need to take a boat down river or to an island in order to swim.
This cabin was exactly as expected. It was very clean and private. The use of the screened in porch to eat outside was wonderful as was sitting in the rocking chair drinking coffee in the morning while listening to the water run by. We as a family enjoyed the trail located across the street. Very convenient. The fire pit and hammock was also a nice way to end the day. It was also nice that most attractions weren’t too far of a drive. We would definitely like to return. You really can’t ask for much more from a cabin in the woods!
Immaculate and relaxing!!
The house was immaculate and very relaxing! We were unable to unwind and just enjoy some peace and quiet. While enjoying morning coffee and s’mores by the fire we could hear the horses go by from the Amish buggies, swam and laid out, went shopping at the Outlets, and read in the pretty sunroom. Would highly recommend!! Wanda was very responsive and thoughtful and such a pleasure to deal with!!
My Legs Got a Workout
My husband and I had a little weekend getaway from our home in Lancaster. This was a tough weekend after getting some tragic news. The constant sound of the stream was so soothing. The little screened porch was just what I needed. Our booking and check-in was simple and the prop mngr was very responsive.
The furniture was beautiful, comfy and plentiful. Lots of extra blankets and linens. Gorgeous bathroom. The loft is quite comfortable as well. The only complaint was the lighting. I tend to love a lot of lamps for reading and this cabin has primarily ceiling lights. The two floor lamps didn't give much reading light. The grilling area is fantastic!!!! The owners thought of everything.
The cabin is so unique with great detail. Be aware there is not one room you can enter without traversing some steps. I was aware of this but just underestimated it for us. The steps tend to be different heights and tilt in different directions. Your legs will get a good workout. The newer stairs leading to the cabin from the bridge are a bit of a challenge to navigaite. My husband uses a cane and I am a clutz. These steps are quite uneven where the wood meets the brick. The door jam is slanted outward... and coming out of the screened porch had us almost falling several times. So... keep this in mind if you have any mobility issues at all. We would not be able to stay here again because of it. If you have good balance and strong knees and legs....then you will be just fine here!!!!!!
