Now is the time to plan either a wonderful weeks vacation at our beautiful home on Buzzards Bay, Cape Cod, during the summer or just a great weekend (now through end of April) experiencing Cooking at Kate's.

MORE ABOUT OUR HOME

The home is nestled next to 150 acres of wildlife sanctuary and has beautifully landscaped grounds. At the foot of the driveway is an 18 hole golf course and a sports court for basketball, volleyball, horseshoes and badminton. Some of the best windsurfing in the world is outside your front deck. Perfect also for kayaking, paddle -boarding, or just swimming in the warm waters. Clamming & fishing are also favorites right outside your deck. Adirondack chairs are positioned around the grounds and on the beach for your comfort. The home has over 200' of private beach and the water is both safe and warm. Even during the winter months, there have been many times that all of us have been enjoying the sun on the oceanside deck.

There are two kitchens with three refrigerators, 2 dishwashers and two ovens in total. The home offers an 80 foot outdoor deck overlooking the ocean to enjoy all of the incredible views and sunrises and sunsets. To experience Southwest at Little Harbor is to experience the most fabulous, serene vacation on the entire Cape. Baseball enthusiasts can take in Wareham Gatemen games of the Cape Cod League during the summer, seeing young talent as they progress to the major leagues. Last but not least, for history buffs, the famous whaling city of New Bedford and Plimouth Plantation are each approximately twenty minutes away. How wonderful for Thanksgiving, Christmas or any other holiday.

Where can you find a home like this all year round. And you don't have to ever sit in traffic.

Our home is also perfect for small, intimate weddings of 70 people or less. Over the years, our couples have absolutely loved getting married at our home. You would need a tent and port au potties, and we have a recommended list of vendors listed on our site. We have a four night minimum for weddings which are held off season only. The rate is $1800 per night, $600 cleaning, $100 debris and $1800 refundable security if there is no damage to our home.

Guestbook comments from the owner

“ We celebrated my wife’s 70th birthday and our 1st family reunion in mid June and it couldn’t have been a more perfect weekend!! My wife and I , our 6 children and their spouses, and our 11 grandchildren, all felt it was the most memorable weekend ever. The house set up was perfectly and incredibly appointed. Even with all our family, there was always plenty of room for all – young and old – to play, eat, sleep and be together. The views are majestic and the beach and the clear calm water were but steps away. We only needed to supply food as everything else needed came with the house. The area was private and made you feel special. I’m sure we’ll return – hopefully with the whole gang for another great time!!”

Beautiful house with tons of character

  • 5 of 5

We had a delightful stay at this property. The owner was understanding and helpful throughout the process, and the property delivered on all its promises. We had a beautiful view, and the neighborhood felt like quintessential New England.

Even with spotty weather, the great room felt so cozy that we weren't even disappointed that we couldn't spend the entire time outside. When the sun was out, though, we were basking on the back porch, watching the interesting beach wildlife through binoculars.

Since we're all pretty avid cooks, we were excited to see that the kitchen was so well stocked with cookware, though the only small disappointment was that there weren't as many "pantry staples" as I had hoped. Apparently in the off season, the kitchen isn't as well stocked. Required a couple extra trips to the grocery store.

Otherwise, though, it was a wonderful time, and we hope to gather a large crowd together again soon to take advantage of the spacious property.

Annual Cousins Weekend!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the house and all the amenities offered by a great time-weathered beach-front family home. So many great rooms, some nook-sized and others very much able to accommodate a large family. Since we were not a large group, we had plenty of room to gather or to sneak off alone. We were able to enjoy the deck at about 2 pm on Saturday when the clouds in the skies cleared and the sun peaked out. Many ventured out in the wind and rain in the morning to shell-search and explore the beach. This group of 8 is my three cousins and our spouses, the fourth time we have planned a weekend together and it was the perfect place and event for us to gather, chill and share our family stories and history. The large living rooms enhanced by the fireplaces especially on this weekend were warm, cozy and inviting.

The food offered by the house team, Lauren & Dave was comforting for a rainy Friday night, just enough for Sat morning and perfectly complimented our Blood Mary’s on Sunday morning. They were there when we needed them and then left us alone.

We enjoyed Audra and Val and they both were amenable to our request to pause during the Kentucky Derby. We are foodies and wine enthusiasts and were a very inquisitive group and we were delighted at the discussions especially on the wines, regions and varietals even discussing the box-o-wine!

Overall, we had a great, short time wishing we had more…

Our Gourmet Dinner Group weekend!!

  • 5 of 5

It was a late spring nor'easter when we arrived and we couldn't have been more pleased with the warm, comfy cozy house, fire in the fireplace. We felt 'cocooned' in a magical place where all cares were left behind in our real worlds! The entire staff was delightful and fun, the food delicious and more than enough for everyone. We were greeted by Lauren & Dave, who provided Friday dinner & Sunday brunch. Totally yummy & we just loved them. Chef Kevin was informative and very funny & personable, a treat to work with. We all loved the cooking experience. And, we all learned a lot from Sommelier Val. This huge 1929 house has it's own personality & charm with a view to die for. We left happy, relaxed and very full :-) I highly recommend 'Cooking at Kate's'! And for the summer months, it would be a perfect place for a family reunion.

Our very first Mother/Daugher weekend!!!

  • 5 of 5

Watching on TV about this beautiful home and exciting weekend with a personal chef/wine educator, my daughter and I became convinced we had to do this. Once we decided on who would be the perfect friends to join us; we booked the date. As the date came closer and closer all 8 of us anticipated the fun we would have. But none of us could imagine how perfect a weekend this would be. AMAZING!!! The food, fireplaces, wine, candles and 8 bedrooms.. The Chef was fantastic and we all enjoyed participating in our meal and then sitting down to a 5 star dinner. We want to plan a return visit and certainly recommend this home to anyone.. THANKS for our memories of a weekend away with our grown daughters; laughing the entire weekend.
