We are a family of three, with a 12 year old daughter. My husband was born in Europe, raised in Canada and settled here in the Tampa Bay area over 25 years ago. He is a real estate developer. I am a Floridian, grew up here, attended college in Tennessee, but came back 'home' to Florida. I own a marketing and financial lending company & enjoy my vacation rentals. We have family in Canada, Switzerland, Tennessee and Michigan. We love the water, fishing, running & traveling. We are very familiar with this area & supply you with a 'welcome package' with ample area information/maps/recommended restaurants upon your arrival- we can aslo be a great resource for any special requests for your vacation.
Lana Lum purchased this house in 2005
We bought this property as our second home and sold it a few years ago to a lovely family, whom asked me to continue to 'vacation rent' it for them-so I'm very familiar with the property since I fell in love with it years ago. Read the reviews... that says it all :)
In 2005, I walked around this home to the beach backyard, turned to my husband and said 'we are buying this' without even going inside. This backyard speaks for itself, with a cabana, 2 hammocks and a tiki bar we had custom built on the property.
We celebrated our family Christmas at this property, and my sister and her kids stayed at a condo about one mile North of here. We were able to cook multiple family meals and had plenty of space for outdoor dining. Lots of toys for kids and adults.
The inside of the residence was comfortable, with a few idiosyncracies. Plenty of towels, including beach towels. Well stocked kitchen.
Great beach and sandbar. Dolphins every day.
Our family stayed here for several days. It's amazing and I defiantly recommend it. You are right on the beach and close to everything you could possibly want to do.
The outside is amazing. The paver patio and pathways, the table and grill area, the hammocks, the tiki bar, the amazing view of the surf , and just a few steps to the beach. We had our traditional thanksgiving dinner outside. It was great!! We spent so much time around the tiki bar. As I walked up and down the beach, I realized that this is the prettiest backyard in the area. The lights add another bit of beauty . The weather was perfect for us., so we spent most of our time outside . The garage has lots of beach toys, from sand castle supplies and umbrellas to paddle board and bocci ball. They even have volleyball and fishing supplies.
Inside, it's a little small, if you were going to be spending a lot of time in there. The space wasn't really a problem for us. We bumped bottoms in the kitchen a few times. Lol.
There is not a half bath on the first floor, but there is a full bath off the bedroom. It wasn't an issue for us. There are; however, steps. To get to the main floor bedroom, you step up onto a landing at the bottom of the stairs and then step down into the bedroom. Speaking of the bedroom, it is very, very cramped. The bed IS extremely comfortable, but is too big for the room. You literally have to squeeze around to get to the other side. There is a clothes closet at the end of the bed and another one in the bathroom.
The two upstairs bedrooms share a hall bathroom. It is nice. The front bedroom as a partial ocean view, looking over the neighbors house. The back bedroom has private balcony over looking the stunning backyard and the beach. Both bedrooms have lots of space and a closet. Each bedroom has their own TV.
Our grandsons slept on the trundle day bed in one of the living areas. It worked out very nicely.
Our daughter and her fiancé stayed in the apartment garage. It is right next to the busy street, but they swore they couldn't here the traffic with the windows closed. They said the bathroom was tiny and the mattress was hard.
There is a busy street out front, but the owners have done a great job of planting things to mute it out. There is a fence around the entire property. It's nice. The laundry was in the garage, but that was no biggie. If it were raining or really hot, it might be bad, but for us it was nice.
The inside of the house is definitely dated, but it's the outside that we came here for. It really is as pretty as it looks.
Lana is wonderful to work with!
We had a wonderful long weekend . Great place on the beach . No highrises nearby!
We had a fantastic stay at this property. House is great and the outside space is simply stunning! The tiki hut was a fun place to sit and visit or serve drinks or lunch, and the view of the ocean was spectacular. Lana was so accommodating and immediately responsive to any questions we had before or during our stay. There were plenty of beach chairs, floats, etc. for us to fully enjoy the beach. I highly recommend this property!
I spent labor day weekend at the property and couldn't have asked for a more fun trip. We arrived just after hurricane Hermine decided to make landfall. We were pleasantly surprised to see the owner and other people working diligently to clean up the property and ensure we had the best possible experience and the property was in tip top shape for us.
The outdoor space of the house was excellent. We felt like we were at our own private beach bar while sitting at the tiki hut with the waves and sand just steps away. Inside the house was equipped with everything we needed and the extra guest room by the garage allowed everyone to have their own space.
It was only a short drive to lots of bars and activities which provided plenty of entertainment when not hanging out outside or in the water. What a great trip!
