About the property

Condominium - 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s) - 2 Baths - (Sleeps 6-8)

Come enjoy our centrally located family condo at Northstar resort. You and the kids can walk to the pool and recreation center without crossing any streets in 10 minutes on a trail in the forest. Ski back to the condo from the slopes. Relax on two decks with open space views of aspens and pines. Come in and warm up by the fireplace.

This condo is convenient in so many ways. Drive from the San Francisco Bay Area or Sacramento. Fly in and it's only 45 minutes from Reno airport. Once you get here, you're only 15 minutes from Lake Tahoe or historic Truckee. If you can stand giving up your ski back location, it's only 30 minutes to Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows or Diamond Peak at Incline Village.

But you probably won't want to leave. You'll be only 600 yards from the gondola, the village (including Starbucks!), or the heated outdoor pool and recreation center (access card included with your rental). You can walk or take the free shuttle bus. Soak in one of 3 spas, use the gym or one of 10 tennis courts. The kids will love the new play water features. Hike or mountain bike the local trails. A few minutes drive and you're at the equestrian center or the golf course.

After a full day of outdoors fun, you'll need some rest. The bottom floor of the condo has two bedrooms and a full bathroom. One has two twin beds; the other has a queen. The middle floor has the kitchen, dining area and living room with sleeper couch. The private top floor has the master bedroom with queen bed and it's own bathroom.

This is the perfect getaway for your family and friends. Check out our availability calendar and our web site. Contact us to make your reservation now.

About Alex

My wife and I are veterinarians in Escondido, California near San Diego. We are both graduates of UC Davis Veterinary School. I got my undergraduate degree at Cornell University in New York state. We have two kids, one in grad school at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in Physics and one recently graduated from UCLA in Neuroscience and pursuing an acting career. I love skiing and tennis. We have two dogs, two horses and a cat. My wife loves to ride and show Quarter horses.

Alex purchased this condo in 2007

Why Alex chose Lake Tahoe North Shore

I grew up in Santa Clara County in the Bay Area and learned to ski at Tahoe when I was 4 or 5 years old. I have skied there almost every year of my life since. I have a timeshare in Park City, but when it came time to go full ownership, there was no question of where to go. Tahoe is more beautiful and of course has great nostalgic value for me.

What makes this condo unique

At first I bought this place as a ski property, but I returned to playing tennis a year later and then discovered the great tennis camps right at the rec center that goes with my property. I am a year around fan now.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Escrow closed on my dream Tahoe condo Friday, 5/11. Working feverishly to interview and find great housekeepers, get bids on new furnace, new hot water heater and fireplace gas log. Getting materials ready for internet listings and web site. Doing my best to get it in good shape for renters who want to share the dream.

We were here August 1-8. Beautiful weather, ranging

from warm to cool. Great hikes: rested at Sawmill Lake

and saw an eagle there! The condo was was a

wonderful refuge. Great to have a computer we could

do searches on. Very clean and comfortable all

around. A memorable visit we would like to repeat.

Nice and Convenient...

  • 5 of 5

A very nice and convenient place for our family ski trip in Lake Tahoe. A few points I would like to mention

- Alex is very responsive. Whenever I called or texted him, I would get his reponse shortly and all issues were resolved promptly.

- We like the kitchen and entertainment area very much. Very convenience for us, we cooked breakfast and dinner everyday, enjoyed the fireplace and nice view of snow outside.

- A short distance to the village.

- If I have to mention something needs improvement, here is one: I cannot find chopsticks... Anyway, lots of utensiles, we just used folks/spoons...

I stronly recommend and will certainly visit again in the future.

Great location in Northstar

  • 5 of 5

Cozy and comfortable condo in great location. We were able to get to the slopes in a few minutes by shuttle and not worry about driving all weekend. Worked out great for two families.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your nice review. The on call shuttle is very convenient. And not schlepping equipment and not parking is one of the main reasons I bought the place. It cuts 30-45 minutes off either end of your day compared with driving to a resort.

Fantastic Experience at Northstar

  • 5 of 5

The house was exactly what we wanted for our small family reunion in North Lake Tahoe. Easy access to the lifts, plenty of room and a warm fireplace to unwind after a day on the slopes.

We just returned from 3 nights at this house and we could not have asked for a better experience. We got a ton of snow and Alex, our host was amazing. He wrote me multiple times before our stay to keep us updated on the conditions. He laid out all the details for check-in and check-out and made it so easy to be a guest at the house. What is more, besides his delightful and helpful tone in his emails he even offered to allow us to stay an extra night for free because of the harsh weather than caused I-80 (the one road out North Lake to San Francisco) to be closed. I highly recommend this house for any group from 4-8 who want a warm, clean, convenient house near the resort with an awesome host.

Cheers Alex, I look forward to renting your home again!

Owner's Response: Thanks for your kind review. I am glad you were able to get home safely by an alternate route in spite of the weather and that the 80 finally opened. All the snow this year is great for skiing but can be a challenge for traveling at times. Alex
