Very high quality holiday accommodation

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed at Kirkgate Cottage for 3 nights over the new year holiday. We found the place to be very clean and comfortable with every requirement (and more) catered for. The house had a very homely atmosphere with the many nicknacks, ornaments and pictures which was typically Pittenweem. If there is one drawback it is parking close to the house but having been to Pittenweem many times we know this to be a problem throughout the village.

Cosy, home-from-home, cottage

  • 5 of 5

This was truly a lovely little cottage, everything you could possibly want....the bath in the bedroom was a great addition and the huge shower, wonderful. Pittenweem itself is small but a visit to the Cocoa shop/cafe and the little pub in the harbour.. .a must. We loved Anstruther....the fish shop....incredible, best fish n chips I've eaten. Lovely little town.... loved it here and had a wonderful 3/4 days away. 😁

Lovely, homely and comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic time at Kirkgate Cottage. It had everything we needed and it was a wonderful place to relax after miles of coastal walks. We felt very at home as did our two little beagles. Thank you.

Cosy and quiet cottage

  • 4 of 5

The cottage is just perfect with lovely furnishings and good quality items but there are a lot of things in the kitchen which take up space. I would like to have seen a chair and chest of drawers in the bedroom. The bed was very comfortable but the duvet cover was quite heavy and a lot of cushions on it as well. Overall very quiet with a nice outside seating area for fine days. The wood burner in the living room was nice. The location is just off the town centre with free parking on the street outside. Everything was very clean on our arrival and well stocked too. Walking distance to the bus for going further around the area and a nice pub at the harbour. Our dog enjoyed the walks around the area and most places she was able to get into. A good base for travelling around the area either by foot, bus or car. We would stay again.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to write a review it is appreciated. I'm sorry some things were not to your liking, but as they can't please all of the people all of the time. I must be honest and say that most people are delighted with the equipment kitchen for a short holiday break and love the fact that it's like home, however I appreciate that it's not minimalist. The cushions in the bedroom are again to make things pretty and are very much a part of modern living these days. I don't understand your comment about having a chest of drawers as there are two sets of drawers - one each side of the bed with 3 reasonabe sized drawers in each, which I thought would be plenty for a short stay. Thanks again for taking the time.

A great base for golfing, walking, cycling, exploring the historic sites or just relaxing with a good book.

Several large and unspoilt sandy beaches are within easy reach and the Fife coastal path is virtually on the doorstep.

There's a great selection of restaurants and bars in the area and Anstruther, with its famous fish and chip shop, is only a mile away.

The lovely villages of Elie, Anstruther and Crail that make up the fabulous East Neuk are all on the doorstep and St Andrews which is great for culture, shopping, restaurants and bars is a 15-minute journey away.

The Magical Kingdom has many heritage sites for exploring.
