Owner is delightful and helpful. House is rustic and simple, but with all necessities, and an unequaled setting. Heavenly.

Great cottage in a beautiful location by the beach

  • 4 of 5

We had an excellent week at this cottage w our teenagers and a friend. The LR is not huge, but it was fine for us even with the bigger kids. The house was very clean and charmingly rustic with a well stocked kitchen. And it was perfectly situated just steps from one of MV's awesome beaches, and had a gorgeous view over the treetops to the dunes and water. There was a small hiccup with the cleaners at the start, but Don dealt with it immediately and thoroughly. I highly recommend this place if you like (as I do) the far reaches of the Vineyard where it is quiet and wild and beautiful.

Perfect Aquinnah vacation

  • 5 of 5

This was our 4th year at this wonderfully equipped house in an ideal location. Brings back the simpler times. House has everything you would need for cooking, beach going, views, access to beach. Excellent customer service. We will return.

Perfect! All the amenties of home.

  • 5 of 5

My first vacation in 5 years. This home was extremely comfortable. Very clean and comfortable. All the comforts of home. The beach is extremely private and a one minute walk from the house. Less than a mile from the lighthouse, which was amazing for sunsets. The owner sent a very detailed outline of all there was to do and it was very helpful. I look forward to returning next summer.

Perfect rustic getaway

  • 5 of 5

This is a positively adorable and comfortable rustic beach house in a fabulous location with devastatingly beautiful water views and access to some of the Island's best beaches. I have rented all over the Island for a decade now, and stayed in some lovely places, but none have felt as purely restful as this quiet getaway at the farthest, most beautiful end of the Vineyard. The place was very well equipped, from linens and towels to cleaning materials (nothing irritates me more than paying up for a house and showing up to find one half roll of toilet paper in 2 bathrooms). High speed wifi, a Bluetooth speaker, a nice flatscreen and comfortable furnishings made us all feel happy to be there. The neighborhood is quiet for biking, and in fact the delightful Menemsha bike ferry is an easy ride away. Lobster for lunch? Don't mind if I do. Every day we got up thrilled at the view. If you are the type who needs or prefers granite counters and a separate office for your vacation property, this might not be for you. Or if you need the stimulation and shopping of the towns like Edgartown and Vineyard Haven, you may find the comparatively long ride daunting (Chilmark, which I previously considered the end of where I could be, is a 10-12 minute car ride away). But if, like us, you just are happy to walk the less than 1 mile to the Gay Head Cliffs, bike, eat and read on a beautiful beach a short walk from the door, then this is your place. I can't wait to come back.

My family (2 teen-aged sons, one grandmother, two parents) had a relaxing, fulfilling and memorable week stay. The house, simple and clean, has everything we needed and no excess. Woke daily to outdoor shower beside the black raspberry bushes, took two mile walks along the private beach that leads to Aquinnah Cliffs (arguably the most stunning beach on the East Coast). Rode bikes to Menemsha and the lighthouse as well as beaches. Up island is much quieter and sleepier than rest of island, and we loved it that way. Our sons got bus passes and went to noisier parts of the island (and to jump bridge at State Beach) for the day. Enjoyed grilling fresh catches from Menemsha and spectacular nightly sunsets. Views of beaches from upstairs rooms gorgeous. Owner was warm, friendly and accommodating with our request for odd dates. Hope very much to return. Cannot recommend it more highly!

This cozy 4 bdrm. family beach home was built in 1963 and is a classic up-island Cape beach house. Walking distance to the Gay Head cliffs and Dogfish Bar make it a dream come true for the serious angler. Sleeps up to 9. The house is 150 yards from the beach on the Vineyard Sound, with a private beach shared by only a few other families. Often you'll have the beach to yourself.
