Our family spent Thanksgiving weekend here. Everything was just as described plus more. The house is cozy, clean, nicely decorated and was larger than we expected. The windows on the upper level open to a beautiful view that we were all drawn to just to gaze at the lake, sky, geese and the island. The kitchen was outfitted completely for preparing a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Even though it rained most of the time there were games, pool table and cards to keep us busy as well as television and dvd's (didn't use the dvd's though). It is convenient to shopping, parks and downtown Burlington. Some of us are runners and it was easy to take a jaunt around the lake. Tammy is great to work with and responded quickly. We will definitely return if plans take us that way again.
This was my first time up at the lake and it was very enjoyable. There were about nine of us for the weekend and we fit very comfortably. We enjoyed playing games and looking out onto the water. The beds were super comfortable and the pool table + Blockbuster VHS of The Ring were nice bonuses. Tammy was very accommodating and answered my call when we had questions. I would definitely recommend this house during any season as there are plenty of things to do outside and inside. We also had a chance to run over to the local super club and that was nice being on the water. I would only take a star off because of the lake itself. There is a large amount of seaweed growth that made it difficult to swim/walk through but we made it work by going out on the canoe and laying on inflatables. Overall, a very relaxing weekend and I would consider going up there again.
had a great stay on our favorite lake. the view is worth every penny. the house was super clean and comfortable, especially the great room. kitchen was well stocked, laundry facility was nice, especially for a two week stay. kudos to the interior designer, each room had its own characteristics and a good feel to them. tammy was great to work with. just wish we had a motor boat.
House was well equipped for everything we needed. We had 6 adults and 4 children (4, 3, 2, and 5 months years of age). The kids loved the beach. The water was wonderful and just right for small children. The Waterfront restaurant is down the road from the house. Easy to get to Milwaukee where we enjoyed the zoo and Brewers game. Tammy was great to work with. We highly recommend this house.
This is a great lake front property! The pictures don’t do it justice; it’s bigger than it appears. My group had 10 people & this property was able to accommodate all 10 of us. The beds were comfortable, there are plenty of towels & the sauna is a pleasant addition to this house. Not to mention the gas grill & electric fire place.
Tammy, the home owner, returned all my emails & calls within 24 hours prior to arrival.
The house is 5 minutes to the grocery store & town area. A Super Club-esk restaurant is just a stone throw away in the same bay. Although we didn’t eat there a few of us did go have a cocktail & the service was great. There were fireworks in the local park & a Chocolate Festival that could entertain all ages. Not having to worry about the little things made for a great Memorial Day weekend with friends.
I would recommend this property to family & friends.
We had a wonderful stay here this past summer. The owner was very easy to work with, and everything was perfect. The house was very clean and well stocked, with plenty of everything. It is even bigger and roomier than it appears in the pictures. We were amazed when we arrived at the spaciousness of the home. The views were beautiful.
Our group had 2 adults, a teenager, and a 5 year old, and there was plenty to keep everyone entertained and happy throughout the week. We have quite a bit of family in the area, so it was nice to also have plenty of room for family members to come by for swimming, barbecue, or just a relaxing morning visit over coffee.
We spent a lot of time outside - our little one loved the sandy beach area and our teenager enjoyed swimming out to sun on the swim platform. We did some fishing off the pier as well - most of the catches were small, but my little one did come up with a couple good sized fish (one catfish and one bass). We also enjoyed the canoe as well.
The pool table and supply of movies were great for indoor fun, and the gas grill worked great as well.
As an added note, we would definitely recommend checking out the free Aquaducks ski show (just on the other side of the lake).
We hope to be able to visit again and would most definitely recommend it to anyone considering a vacation here.
Browns Lake is located in historic Burlington, Wisconsin. Our cottage is minutes from town where you can shop in quaint stores or dine in first class restaurants. Nearby Bong Recreational Nature Preserve has much to offer the adventurer. Grocery and pharmacy nearby as well. Browns Lake is home to the famous Aquaducks ski team with free shows every Saturday night at 6 p.m. In the winter, enjoy some of the greatest skiing and snowboarding that Southern Wisconsin has to offer. Twenty minutes northwest is Alpine Valley Resort, the larges ski area in the kettle moraine region (20 trails/11 lifts); 20 minutes to the south is Wilmot Mountain set on one of the great glacial terminal moraines (25 trails/11 lifts). Lake Geneva, ten minutes away, offers more great shopping and dining experiences, but we are sure you won't want to leave Browns Lake. Summer or winter--it's a great place to be!
