We have been fortunate enough to enjoy a week at Puu Poa 412 and it was a most amazing experience. This was our 20th Anniversary trip and we wanted something EXTRA SPECIAL.... The Goodes have done a great job providing their guests with every luxury and convenience. The North Shore was where we spent the majority of our time and we fell in love with the little town of Hanalei. We lunched at the Dolphin one afternoon and watched the kayakers/paddle boarders go down the river. Had cocktails at the Kalypso one day and also the Hanalei Café. Both very nice & friendly. We especially enjoyed the Limahuli Botanical Gardens since we love to garden in Salt Lake City. Enjoyed the catamaran tour of the Napali Coast and guided waterfall hike with Princeville Ranch Adventures. The beaches were spectacular --- our favorite snorkeling was actually right here at Hideaways Beach ! We tried Tunnels Beach one afternoon, but we both agreed our Hideaways had the best fish ! The binoculars provided in 412 allowed us to watch two seals eating breakfast below the kitchen windows. The appliances/sound system worked great. A vacation we will NEVER forget. It was simply "the best" !

The view is definitely the best for the perfect sunsets. The unit is beautiful and spacious and safe. I felt very safe which is really important. One week is not long enough either. I would definitely stay here again.

Luxury accommodations in an ideal setting for watching whales, surfers, sunsets and stars

This was our first trip to Hawaii, and my wife and I spent considerable time researching and planning what we hoped would be the perfect vacation. Once we decided on the north shore of Kauai as our destination, we were faced with a variety of lodging options. Here's what we wanted: Ocean view, open lanai, convenient beach access, dining options within walking distance, ability to cook/grill our own meals, air conditioning and privacy.

If these items are also on your checklist, let me save you some time... You'll not find any accommodations on the north shore that come close to approaching the excellence and value you'll find with Puu Poa 412. And you'll likely never find - in any vacation locale - hosts as welcoming and committed to your comfort as Dick and Eleanor Goode.

Amazing Ocean Front Condo in Princeville

This condo exceeded our expectations and the owners attention to detail and hospitality is second to none. We are a family of 4 with 2 teens who stayed here for a week in December. The views are amazing, the amenities in this unit are excellent, and the location is the best place to stay on Kauai. We hiked the Napali Coast, visited the many beautiful beaches on the north shore, swam and snorkeled at our own nearly private beach (Hidden Beach at Puu Poa), and made day trips to the south side of the island. We will definitely rent this unit again. If you are thinking of staying down south or at one of the bigger resorts, think again. You won't be disappointed.

Be a king or queen in princeville

From the moment you book till your last minute you will be impressed with the penthouse condo and its owners. Dick Goode goes above and beyond to make your stay the very best. You receive a pack of maps,guidebooks,20 page condo info and a feeling of confidence with your choice of unit 412. Unlike other units at Puu Poa, Dick leaves snacks,wine,k-cups and a pantry full of spices and other helpful cooking supplies. Ccean views from the terrace and also side dining windows are second to none. Having A/C is also a luxury when coming back from the beach in late afternoon. Most units at complex don't have A/C and the owners take on a huge electric bill to provide it to their guests. Beach chairs and snorkeling gear are of high quality and were used every day at hideaways beach below condo. Electric grill on terrace worked perfectly and was as clean as our grill back home. We grilled fresh fish 3 nights and you can too,just go to the Dolphin fish market in Hanalei. Want the worlds best Danish stop at Hanalei bread company,made fresh in house every day!!! No matter what you do all day about an hour before sundown pour yourself a drink and relax on the terrace for the amazing sunset. 412 is the best of the best and worth the extra $$$ when comparing it to all units at Puu Poa and even the St Regis next door. If you still are unsure about choosing this penthouse reach out to Eleanor and Dick with any questions, trust me they will impress even the worlds most seasoned traveler. We are in the process of booking our trip back next year.

Beautiful stay at Pua Poa 412.

Incredible views from the Lanais- so many rainbows!!! We enjoyed the bbq and well-equipped kitchen. I know we are spoiled, but having air conditioning was amazing! Although it rained quite a bit each day, we had such fun-- Walking distance to the St Regis. The Hideaways Beach was beautiful but extra scary descent with all the rain. But there were plenty of other great beaches to enjoy. RIchard is an amazing host who gave us lots of ideas for places to eat and play. Thanks for a memorable trip- we will be back!
