Ample self-contained studio in quiet hamlet, with porch overlooking a local beauty spot.
Large open plan kitchen-cum-living room with all facilities, wood stove and double futon. Spiral staircase leads to double bedroom on mezzanine with ensuite shower room. Exteriour includes a large sun terrace, shady pergola & cosy porch.
Available until the end of May 2015.
This open plan studio is a true love birds nest. Or a cosy base for a group of four.
The space is easily heated with the inset wood stove (and there is electric radiator upstairs if needed). We charge €20 for a weeks worth of firewood. The kitchen should have everything you would need and we will actually have extra sofas than what is shown in the photos, so it will be very comfortable. There is TV, DVD player, CD player.
The views up the lake from the little cosy porch are really lovely. If you're looking for a quiet get away this should be perfect..
The guests will have fully private use of the gîte.
There are shared laundry facilities in the ground floor of a nearby barn (washing machine, drier, ironing board). There is also a games room with table tennis table and four bikes for guest use (as well as things like croquet, darts, badminton, board games).
The studio is semi-detached to a larger gîte, but this will be empty all spring, so guests will have full use of the sun terrace and pergola as well as the porch at the entrance way. They will have shared access to the lawns and the pond. They will be welcome to fish in the pond (there is carp and pike). There is ample off road parking on the drive for the guests.
This is an idyllic quiet natural setting. It overlooks the Lac d'Astarac beauty spot and also looks down towards the Pyrenées. We like to walk along the dam at the far end of the lake, and there are further walking paths around the woods beside the lake.
The picturesque village of Saint-Blancard with its pretty chateau is located about 7 minutes drive away, it's the nearest spot to buy bread, but the hotel there also notably provides live music on a Sunday. Both Masseube and Boulogne-sur-Gesse are within 15 min drive and provide a more substantial selection of shops and restaurants and so on. There is a range o factivities available in the region, such as kayaking, horse-riding, tree-top adventure, wine-tasting, cycling, walking etc etc.
