Very nice property. Vintage charm and very clean. Sunrises to die for.

We had a very nice stay at the Bluff House. We arrived at almost midnight and the owner had left a light on for us, which was much appreciated. The steep driveway was a bit of a challenge for my 73-year-old mother, but once we navigated it a few times, we did just fine. The house was very clean and a charming swing back to the 50s and 60s with it's original décor and fixtures. We all loved the cool breakfast nook and giant picture window. The sunrise was absolutely stunning and I took an amazing picture of the boats across the street as the sun was making it's first appearance on Saturday. We enjoyed an easy walk to the beach and lunch at the Deck restaurant. We did not use the bikes or kayaks in the garage but they were available to use had we wanted to. Sid, the owner, was attentive and friendly and checked in via text to see with we needed anything.

I would not hesitate to stay there again with my husband and son, but might thing twice about the steep driveway if I were traveling with someone who struggled with walking or respiratory issues.

Great property, wonderful, extremely helpful owners

  • 5 of 5

Thank you so much for allowing us to enjoy your home! Great view of the water and a cozy, comfortable home. Fully stocked, well equipped, we wanted for nothing. Fantastic location! Intimidating driveway, but ample street parking and we got our exercise in to boot! Would definitely consider another stay.

Wonderful home with a great view of Muskegon Lake

  • 5 of 5

5 days of fun at this nice home overlooking Muskegon Lake. The 3 bedrooms gave us plenty of room for the 5 of us. Looked forward to each morning having breakfast watching sunrise over the lake. The property owners were very friendly and willing to help if we needed anything during our stay. The driveway is steep but good on building those leg muscles. The kitchen had everything we needed and there is a washer/dryer in the basement. Location is great only a few minutes from the beach and a party store nearby.

Fun for a family vacation

  • 4 of 5

We rented the Bluff House for a family vacation with our four young children, ages 10, 8, 5, and 3. The location was perfect. There is access to Muskegon Lake right across the street and Lake Michigan is less than a mile away. We walked to Pere Marquette beach almost every day. We also enjoyed paddling the kayaks around Muskegon Lake. Being high on the bluff provides a great view from the huge picture window. It also means a steep driveway and many steps to the house. It was not a problem for us, but it would be unsuitable for anyone who has difficulty walking or climbing steps. The house has a vintage style with wood paneling, older carpeting, and newer appliances (in most cases nicer than our appliances at home). The bedrooms aren't big, but they are adequate and the beds and linens are comfortable. There are a lot of spaces for relaxing or playing, including the living room with a coffee table big enough for playing games, a room downstairs that was a good place for the kids to play with toys, the front deck with a lovely lake view, the back screened porch for bug-free relaxation, and the deck in the private backyard. There was plenty of room to be together or to have a little privacy. Sid was friendly and quick to answer any questions about the house and the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Bluff House.

Perfect vacation home, perfect location.

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful setting in Muskegon, which doesn't have as much quaint shopping as areas a bit south, but much less crowded, and a gorgeous, large, and free! beach right around the corner. Party store is a 3 minute walk. The house and decor is definitely dated, which to people who are used to mom and pop rentals rather than fancy hotels, this only adds to the cozy laid back feel of a lake vacation only Michigan can provide. The owners live right next door and you can literally probably yell over to them with any problems, but were extremely respectful of our privacy and more than willing to provide for any requests we had. Honestly using the driveway is a suicide mission as its so steep, but it actually turned out to be a great ice breaker for my guests arriving. Plenty of parking on the street below so it was never a problem. The view and privacy the bluff provided far outweighed the haul up the hill. Gave the house info to all of my guests, who agreed it would be a fantastic place for a family weekend. Sincerely hoping to stay here again!

The Bluff House is located across the street from Muskegon Lake and the Muskegon Yacht Club. Lake Michigan is a short 1/4 mile walk or bike ride away. There are numerous bike paths, state park hiking, sailing, charter fishing, sandy beaches for swimming and sunning. Two water parks are a 15 minute drive away. There are the usual museums, parks, Party in the Park Fridays, and several festivals to experience. Best of all - four ice cream parlors with gourmet products are 1/2 mile away. Personally, sitting on the deck with a beverage and a book, enjoying the view every now and then, is the best way to utilize The Bluff House. Fishing charter boats are 2 minutes away from the house

Other Activities: Free WIFI and Direct TV.
