Putnam Station Cottage Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms, 2 Full Baths

The Cabin sits high on a corner lot with wonderful views of Lake George and surrounding mountains. Newly renovated, including the addition of a second story, while maintaining the character and charm of the historic property. Pictures hardly due the quality of the renovation justice. Enjoy sandy swimming area just a few steps away. Launch your kayak or canoe from beach access For larger boats, you can use the launch at Gull Bay, about 10 minutes away. Ticonderoga is 10 miles north for shopping, historic attractions, and ferry to Vermont. Our cottage sleeps six adults comfortably with a full, queen, and two twin beds. Kitchen is fully equipped.

Our cottage is a place to unwind. It was originally part of the historic Glenburnie Inn, nicknamed the Honeymoon Cottage. We have maintained the character of the original property, including the original wood-burning fireplace (circa 1910), while meticulously upgrading the cabin for modern times.

The grassy beach area is flat and has a nice, shallow swim area for little ones. This end of Lake George has a shallow, sandy bottom that allows you to walk out nearly 200 yards before reaching a depth of 6 feet.

Enjoy a 45 minute hike up the road to reach the top of Anthony's Nose for spectacular views of Lake George.

A comfortable getaway with all the amenities!

  • 5 of 5

We were extremely impressed by this rental. It was clean, spacious and comfortable. The owners really share their home with the renters.

We hope to return soon because it was perfect for our family! We loved the proximity to the beach, the canoe and kayak and the bbq. We also had plenty of room to relax and sleep.

This rental is also near Ticonderoga which has everything you need while you are on vacation: restaurants, a Wal-mart and a laundromat. We were comforted to have these essentials only 10 miles away.

Finally, this rental is in a great spot if you want to explore the lake, Vermont and other beautiful sites. It is well equipped with maps, a guest book and tour guide brochures.

Our family would love the chance to come back!

Great Honeymoon!

  • 5 of 5

We travel to Lake George every year and this year we spent a week at this house for our honeymoon. It was a perfect place to stay during the changing of the leaves. We were able to see great mountain views along with beautiful water views from the house. We could watch the sunset from the front porch, and curl up with the woodstove when the temperatures dropped. Bob and Nancy were very friendly with the reservation process and even during our stay there, Bob called to check up and gave us some information on nearby hiking trails. Our dog even loved this place! We are looking forward to staying here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great time in a nice and quiet house.

Glenburnie Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We had another great week this year at the Cabin! Water was 78* and the Adirondack Camp was finished for the summer so boat traffic in Blair's Bay was very minimal. We took several day trips into VT including Shelburne Farm and Middlebury which were delightful. The improvements to the cabin as well as the path along the creek made our stay even more enjoyable than the years prior. Keep up the outstanding work! We look forward to returning next year.

Lovely Adirondack Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a peaceful place to unwind, and this was it! Except for day trips to the Saratoga ballet and Fort Ticonderoga, we hung out at the camp or by the beach. The camp has everything we needed ... from binoculars to check out the wildlife ... to wood for the campfire (there's nothing like roasting marshmallows after dinner).... to a canoe for peaceful early morning rides ... to a well-stocked kitchen with cleaning supplies ... the owners have thought of everything to make a vacation easy and comfortable. There are two full bathrooms which makes it convenient for everyone. In addition to a kitchen table, there is a table to play games in the evening or in case it rains .... although we lucked out with 7 beautiful, sunny days! There is no Internet or cell phone access at the camp (nice!) so we took a daily trip into Ticonderoga for food supplies, etc. and checked for messages. The beach area is small and private, and the water is clean and clear.

The owner checked with us before arrival to see if we had questions and then called us once we were there to be sure we had everything we needed. The pictures on the web site are accurate, and there is even a bonus room off the living room to store extras so the other rooms stayed neater.

If you're looking for a peaceful getaway in the Adirondacks, you won't be disappointed.

Getting away from it all

  • 4 of 5

The Honeymoon Cottage was everything it was described to be-so charming!!! Bob and Nancy have done an amazing job creating a modern addition without losing the charm of the cottage. The rooms are quaint and well decorated. The downstairs has a great open floor plan between the living area and the kitchen. The house was clean and efficient for all our needs. It is remote and you are "off the grid" (no cell phone or cable) but if you are looking to get away from the rush of every day life, it's a great place to do it. The community of Glenburnie is reminiscent of "Dirty Dancing", homes on the lake with the brown shingles and yellow trim. The neighbors were welcoming and kind to us. The lake is great for swimming, canoeing and enjoying the sun. Not a huge fan of the Town of Lake George but Middlebury, Vt and Bolton Landing, NY had the charm and character the Town of Lake George did not have. Ft Ticonderoga is 10 minutes away and a great site for History buffs!

Nancy and Bob have a wonderful home and very easy to communicate with throughout this process. I would rent from them again. We will come back when our toddlers are older and they can appreciate the lake lifestyle.

Honeymoon Cottage

  • 4 of 5

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. We found time on the lake in the provided canoe to be quite relaxing! The cottage is situated so that visitors do not need to worry about finding the usual tourist commotions! We enjoyed a few hikes which were an awesome adventure and there were many trails close to choose from. At night we unwound with a fire and s'mores at the outdoor fire pit. Overall, we would highly recommend this vacation option.
