Overlooking Truro dunes, sunlit, airy contemporary with panoramic views of Cape Cod Bay. Sheltered and kept private by giant white oaks. On the waterside, indigenous shadbush & beach plum patch together a landscape of ever-changing color against big skies and sea, Provincetown and the Pilgrim Monument. Well-equipped granite kitchen, dining and living areas with fireplace & deck (outdoor dining for ten) on upper level. Play the black-ebony piano at the center of this great room or pull something to read from one of the bookshelves—there's also an HDTV, iMac computer & Nespresso machine. Four bedrooms—two queen with water views, one king (or two twin) with deck access, one bunk room—& two baths are on main level as you enter from wrap-around deck. Large enclosed outdoor shower on bedroom level receives the morning sun. Well-behaved children welcome. NON SMOKING. NO PETS. Pick wild blueberries for your breakfast. Stay in touch via high-speed wireless Internet. It's a short walk down our quiet road to private Tru-Haven beach.
Our Private Association Beach, Tru-Haven, is a short walk to the end of the road and down a flight of beach stairs—it's north of Great Hollow and south of Cold Storage Beach. Only residents and their guests use Tru-Haven Beach so it tends to be uncrowded, even at peak times. The sand is clean with few rocks and at low tide, the sandbars seem infinite. Cape Cod Bay waters are calm and ideal for young children, serious swimmers, as well as kayakers. Corn Hill is a 25-30 minute walk along the beach south of the house. Truro Harbor, where folks fish off the rocks, from small boats, or simply wade in, is just south of Corn Hill.
In peak season, public ocean and bay beaches in Truro require a beach sticker between the hours of 9 am - 4 pm. You may park outside these hours without a sticker. When renting the beach house, you are entitled to purchase a weekly beach sticker.
Wild blueberries are plentiful on the land around the house. Beach plums come later in the season, towards the end of September, early October. The driveway has space for several cars and there's room indoors to store bikes. It's an easy cycle to Coast Guard Beach or Truro's Cape Cod Lighthouse on the oceanside. To explore the area, use the iMac computer, Google maps and printer to produce local maps for your day trips. Great hiking and biking in the area.
DON'T OVERLOOK SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER... one of the best kept secrets on Cape Cod.
GOLFERS: 9-hole Highland Links Golf Course, first opened in 1892, is 2 miles from the house on the ocean-side, and 9-hole Chequessett Country Club in the next town of Wellfleet is 8.8 miles from the house.
