Truro Vacation Home - 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sleeps 8
Overlooking Truro dunes, sunlit, airy contemporary with panoramic views of Cape Cod Bay. Sheltered and kept private by giant white oaks. On the waterside, indigenous shadbush & beach plum patch together a landscape of ever-changing color against big skies and sea, Provincetown and the Pilgrim Monument. Well-equipped granite kitchen, dining and living areas with fireplace & deck (outdoor dining for ten) on upper level. Play the black-ebony piano at the center of this great room or pull something to read from one of the bookshelves—there's also an HDTV, iMac computer & Nespresso machine. Four bedrooms—two queen with water views, one king (or two twin) with deck access, one bunk room—& two baths are on main level as you enter from wrap-around deck. Large enclosed outdoor shower on bedroom level receives the morning sun. Well-behaved children welcome. NON SMOKING. NO PETS. Pick wild blueberries for your breakfast. Stay in touch via high-speed wireless Internet. It's a short walk down our quiet road to private Tru-Haven beach.
Our Private Association Beach, Tru-Haven, is a short walk to the end of the road and down a flight of beach stairs—it's north of Great Hollow and south of Cold Storage Beach. Only residents and their guests use Tru-Haven Beach so it tends to be uncrowded, even at peak times. The sand is clean with few rocks and at low tide, the sandbars seem infinite. Cape Cod Bay waters are calm and ideal for young children, serious swimmers, as well as kayakers. Corn Hill is a 25-30 minute walk along the beach south of the house. Truro Harbor, where folks fish off the rocks, from small boats, or simply wade in, is just south of Corn Hill.
In peak season, public ocean and bay beaches in Truro require a beach sticker between the hours of 9 am - 4 pm. You may park outside these hours without a sticker. When renting the beach house, you are entitled to purchase a weekly beach sticker.
Wild blueberries are plentiful on the land around the house. Beach plums come later in the season, towards the end of September, early October. The driveway has space for several cars and there's room indoors to store bikes. It's an easy cycle to Coast Guard Beach or Truro's Cape Cod Lighthouse on the oceanside. To explore the area, use the iMac computer, Google maps and printer to produce local maps for your day trips. Great hiking and biking in the area.
DON'T OVERLOOK SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER... one of the best kept secrets on Cape Cod.
GOLFERS: 9-hole Highland Links Golf Course, first opened in 1892, is 2 miles from the house on the ocean-side, and 9-hole Chequessett Country Club in the next town of Wellfleet is 8.8 miles from the house.

Great House, Great Location, Great Owner
This was by far the best beach house we've ever rented, and we are so happy to have found it. We were there with four adults and a four year old, and we had a great week! Firstly, everything you could ever want is provided for - even the auxiliary input that allows you to plug your iPhone into the stereo so you can play your own music! Plus everything in the house is top quality stuff - professional cookware, sharp knives, nice sheets and towels, and really comfortable foam mattresses. And Claudia is a perfect owner - available and responsive. The house is well designed, with great light and beautiful views from the upper level. Great art books, and stacks of New Yorkers everywhere. The beach is an easy 6 min walk. Thank you, Claudia for taking such care, and for sharing your wonderful house! We can't wait to come back!
Claudia has great taste, so rare in the rental world. It was a pleasure to lounge with family in the living room. There was a book on Cape Cod architecture on the coffee table that I have now ordered for work and can't believe I haven't seen before. The kitchen was amazingly well-appointed (even a rice cooker!) and it was wonderful to not have to bring sheets and towels from home, beds were comfortable, the outdoor shower was huge. Provincetown was refreshingly close and we enjoyed the fruits of a very successful fishing expedition (striped bass). The bay is a short walk away and we all enjoyed walks and swims there at all times of day. A great house, you will love it!
Owner takes great pride in her home
Last summer I had the joy of spending a week at your home in Truro with my son, his wife, and three of my grandchildren. Thank you for sharing this wonderful beach house with us. It is very clear you take tremendous pride in this home – concerning yourself over every detail.
Your house is wonderfully outfitted and equipped, with a kitchen including every gadget we could hope for and even a Nespresso machine with an assortment of capsules. There were extremely comfortable beds for all of us, and even a miniature Adirondack chair, perfectly sized for my two-year-old grandson, on your expansive deck.
We all enjoyed the stunning sunsets, leisurely late afternoons on the back deck, and the tranquil morning views of Provincetown and the bay as we ate our breakfast.
Most of all, it was rewarding to watch three generations of our family share a week of quirky and serendipitous moments with each other. We look forward to a future visit.
What a lovely home!
My husband and I enjoyed 2 delightful weeks at this well-appointed and immaculately cared for bay view home. The owner, Claudia, is not only a pleasure to deal with but thinks of EVERYTHING for the pleasure and ease of her guests. She supplied us with a perfect supply of coffee pods for use in her Nespresso machine and that was only one of the many details she provides for the comfort of her guests. The great room with its wonderful bay views, high ceilings and comfortable array of furnishings became our best spot for reading, eating and just relaxing every day! Thanks Claudia, You're the best!!!
What a terrific property to rent! Beautiful views, comfortable sleeping quarters, spotless, well equipped kitchen and overall sophisticated buzz. One can't go wrong with this rental! Thank so much Claudia
EATING, READING, TALKING AND SWIMMING
We had a truly idyllic three weeks here in North Truro. The house certainly facilitated the magic. Surrounded by woods, the ocean a breath away in a house filled with books, the combination was exhilarating.
We listened to the ocean and smelled the pine woods. Days on the beach, evenings eating with friends and reading day and night, this house was conducive to all. Welcoming to our friends and to our family. Three children two spouses and three grandkids made for a very special magic!
This was a special time in a very wonderful place. Besides family we were visited by weekly newspaper publishers, musicians, filmmakers and writers. Everyone in swim suits, everyone having so much fun! It was a combination family gathering, party for friends and intellectual, if sandy, salon. This is a summer that will not be soon forgotten.
Terrific beaches and ponds. Cape Cod's oldest and most scenic Highland Links golf course close by (less than 1 mile). Cape Cod's oldest lighthouse, Highland Light, close by. Truro Historical Museum near Highland Light. Whale watching from Provincetown Harbor and often from the deck of the beach house. Live theater (W.H.A.T., Payomet Theater), art galleries, shopping, nightlife, restaurants in Truro, Wellfleet, & Provincetown. Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill. Boating, kayaking, sailing, and fishing from beach, ocean or Truro harbor. Mass Audubon wildlife sanctuaries. National Seashore hiking and biking trails.
