Overview

About the property

Rural gite of traditional stone lovingly restored.

Gill & Steve welcomes you to our haven in the hills in the little hamlet of Ladrech above the historic medieval town of Conques. Ladrech is a beautiful tranquil hamlet, situated 7km above Conques in a picturesque wooded forest. Just 1km from the GR65 'The Chemin de Saint-Jaques de Compostelle'. A walkers route undertaken by pilgrims starting in Paris and ending in Saint-Jacques de Compostelle , Spain

Le Coteau and its outbuildings were originally built in the early 18th century inhabited by the local priest. All buildings are of traditional local stone, and we have been lovingly restoring these since 2003, to their original splendor externally and internally whilst adding some home comforts.

Private heated Jet & Bubble hydrotherapy Spa open from 1st July 2018 to 1 September 2018 located in the back terraced garden.

The gite sleeps 4 people in two bedrooms 1 twin and 1 double, both have air conditioning and heating. Bathroom with WC, shower and sink. Independant WC,sink on ground floor. The stone wall features have been preserved along with some more interesting artifacts found in the original building.

Open plan ground floor lounge area with wood burning fire, dining area and fully fitted kitchen with large rotisory oven/5 hob/grill gas cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer. The gite also has free Wifi internet access, French & English satellite, flat screen 40inch plasma HD television , DVD /video player , Playstation games console for the children and a selection of games and movies. Both bedrooms have an old world rustic charm whilst being luxuriously furnished with a north african and nautical theme respectively.

You can enjoy the benifits from two terraces and a small garden

The Eastern terrace enjoys the morning sunshine and evening shade with a seating area.

The Western terrace enjoys the afternoon and evening sunshine and with a stone built barbecue, outdoor dining table, chairs, sun loungers and parasol for those long relaxing days and evenings

The garden can also be accessed from the Western terrace.

About Gill Willis

We moved to France from the UK in March 2003, we started renovating both our house and the gite. All the renovations have been done by us with loving care to keep as much as possible of the original stone building and features. Steve is a qualified Electrician & Plumber and started his business in October 2003.Gill works for the Abbaye at Conques , since March 2005, as a femme de chambre, which involves cleaning rooms and doing laundry. Our house is directly opposite the gite so if you have problems whilst you are staying, we are always on hand.We have learnt to speak french.

Gill Willis purchased this house in 2002

Why Gill Willis chose Conques

We chose this property because we like the quiet, peaceful area surrounded by woodland, and the traditional stone and not many neighbours.

What makes this house unique

This property is in a quiet peaceful location with fantastic surrounding views where you can get away from it all. A well being experience Hydrotherapy Spa open 30th June to 1st September 2018.

A delightful spot

  • 5 of 5

We had a very enjoyable stay in the Gite de Ladrech. The gite has been beautifully restored and is immaculate. It is very well equipped for both inside and outside use; we particularly enjoyed using the two patios, given the quiet location and lovely views.

Gill was very welcoming and available if we needed anything.

Une mise au vert reposant et dépaysante

  • 4 of 5
