About Sylvie Hooghuys
My husband and I are from Belgium, we used to travel to the US for 10 years. We fell in love with Florida and decided to buy a vacation home in Cape Coral in 2007. We bought a home that we transformed into our dream home. We love and enjoy our stays very much. We want to share our piece of paradise with others and that's why we decided to rent it out.
Sylvie Hooghuys purchased this Villa in 2007

The Vacation We Needed!
We had the BEST vacation at this home! We were looking for a relaxing, low key getaway, and found just what we needed—comfortable, guest friendly home, wonderful neighborhood, and great places to eat/things to do very close by. The pool and spa were our favorites by far!! Such a great stay!!
Everything that you could imagine for a very quite relaxing vacation.
The home, and I say home because it was very cozy, like home .the property was clean and neat inside and out.
Nice place to stay. Our main complaint was when we arrived, someone had left the hot tub on (which feeds into the pool) , as a result , the pool was quite warm for our entire stay. The property manager showed up and turned the temp down , but the pool was not refreshing.
AWESOME. Really enjoyed our stay
Great home. Great accommodations ... would definitely return .. only factor was the pool. Maybe put in your book that the “white” remote is for the pool. When Sylvi came she told us ... we didn’t touch anything and the pool was 92 degrees. Even sylvi had difficulty. The pool then got very HOT again the last day ... not sure what going on ... the remote confusing and didn’t want to break something ... it did not ruin our time thou. Just heads up for you ... word to note. The deck around pool is VERY slippery when wet. Shoes required should be noted somewhere
I’m not being nasty or rude. Just informative
Your home is a great great place and we all ENJOYED our stay ..... thanks so much
Thank you for the tips Best regards
"Perfect pool and deck with beautiful wide canal view
Sasha, from the management company, and owner answered questions in a reasonable amount of time. We had 5 adults and 1 child for our stay for our mothers celebration of life service. We had another 4 additional people come to visit during the day. Plenty of room for group visits or alone time.
Not that this took away from our stay... carpet very worn, bedding and towels in the guest bedroom(s) have seen their better days. There is a tub of pool items in garage but most were broke so we would recommend mgmt company go through and throw out and replace or not between renters. Badmitton (tennis?) rackets had strings all broke so couldn't use. We wish the jets would have stayed on longer in the hot tub. When they shut off... 10 minutes?... couldn't start back up for quite awhile. When area around pool gets wet, very slippery so be careful.
Make sure wasp nests are removed from under tiki hut. Mgmt company did come spray, which helped.
Great to offer bikes and kayaks! We would have like it if kayaks were out by ladder to canal... very heavy.
Toilet room door in master bath is a pocket door and didn't close ... due to being off track. Mgmt said it couldn't be fixed during our stay. Mattresses, especially in guest rooms, weren't comfy but we know everyone has varied preference for that. Very small issue... kitchen didn't have measuring spoons. Great access to shopping, Eco Preserve was a short walk and fun to see, as well as other area attractions.
With all that was mentioned, we would go back! Like I mentioned earlier, just want owner to be aware of what we noticed needed some attention. Many thanks!!
Thank you for the review, the new carpet is ordered and pocket doors are fixed Best regards
Villa ”The Riviera” is located in SE Cape Coral, in an area of luxury homes, overlooking a canal with quick Gulf access, within 15 min of the river.
Only a few minutes to the open waters, this is the perfect location for boaters.
Convenient SE location very close to shops and restaurants yet tucked away in low traffic neighborhood adjacent to ecological park great for walking, biking, kayaking and observing wildlife (manatees, alligators)
It’s quiet and peaceful.
Other Activities: rent a boat and watch dolphins playing, observe manatees and alligators
