Oceanfront! This lovely three bedroom two bath home sits just 30 feet from the Atlantic Ocean with sweeping views! As many guests have remarked, 'It's all about the deck.' Like being on the bow of a ship, you'll sit, relax and enjoy the many sailboats and ships as they glide by.
Take a one mile bike ride to Scarborough Beach or quiet Roger Wheeler State Beach (perfect for small children), or drive a short distance to the fishing village of Galilee, home of the Block Island Ferry. Stop off at one of the local fine restaurants, or barbecue on the deck while enjoying perfect views of Point Judith Lighthouse!
This home sits in a very quiet neighborhood with only a handful of neighbors. Historic Narragansett is right up the road. And, of course, the ocean is always right outside your door!
So, you're invited to come and enjoy a relaxing week or two on the ocean...on Point Judith...where your summer memories begin!
**Please note** The owners firmly believe that you as guests deserve to be treated well. That said, please know that we (the owners) personally and thoroughly clean this house prior to your arrival. ***ALL LINENS, TOWELS AND BEACH CHAIRS ARE PROVIDED TO MAKE YOUR TRAVELING A LITTLE BIT EASIER***
PROPERTY ADDRESS IS 35 MAJOR ARNOLD RD, AND THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING OUR OCEANFRONT HOME.
The week was wonderful. Being on the water was so relaxing. Even found some pickleball players in the town. Very quiet neighborhood also. I really recommend this wonderful home for a relaxing vacation.
Lovely house, excellent location. Has everything you need no matter what the weather. The sound of the waves and the view from the deck are remarkable. Plenty of great places to eat close by. Beaches are just a very short distance away and for gamblers Foxwoods & Mohegan Sun are about an hour. Love this place, hope to return next year in the summer.
What a week at the beach!! The house was perfectly stocked with everything we needed. The kids loved the HUGE TV to unwind and play video games. The adults enjoyed sitting on the deck listening to the sounds of the surf and some beverages. Iggy's is a great place to eat and you can walk there. Another great spot is Aunt Carrie's for ice cream! We never made it to Spain but also heard great things. Pretty much all that you need is within walking distance. You don't need much other than the surf and the view ! Thank you for opening your house up to renters.
We spent a week at this lovely cottage and were treated to not only gorgeous sunrises but starry nights and stunning moon-rises. At "cocktail time" the ospreys could be counted on to fish in front of us and fly overhead with fish in their talons. There are many pretty beaches in the area but if you don't feel like venturing out of the cottage you still enjoy the sights and sounds of the water. We look forward to returning again next summer. Thanks!
The house is a casual, beachy-chic kind of place but the location and views are amazing. The house is as close to the water as you can get without being a houseboat. There are beautiful views of the Point Judith lighthouse to the right and Newport / Jamestown to the left. It is the perfect place to see the sunrise which we actually did a couple of times. The constant sounds of the surf are so relaxing, you feel all the stress just melt away.
The house was very neat & clean and as other reviewers have said is equipped with everything. There are even sand toys for the kids, really nice beach towels, sand chairs etc. so you don't have to worry about bringing your own. The rooms were all nice and comfortable. Our daughter loved sleeping on the lower half of the trundle bed in one of the bedrooms - it was her first time sleeping "in a big girl bed" and she loved the fire engine sheets! We were so glad to be able to bring our Yorkie Emma, she spent a lot of time snoozin on the deck, enjoying the ocean breezes.
We all spent a lot of time out on the deck, quite a few meals there - breakfasts, lunches and dinners. The times that we did pull ourselves away we went to the iconic Aunt Carrie's and George's of Galilee, which are so close by but also tried Crazy Burger on Boon St which is a tiny place but the burgers were fantastic. It is BYOB. T's in Narragansett was great for breakfast, prettiest breakfast / lunch place, food & service excellent. Our trip was early in the season - on the plus side no lines or waiting but some places/activities are limited to weekends.
For beach trips we went to Roger Wheeler, 5 mins by car, which is perfect for little kids but Scarborough Beach is also just down the street. The location of the house is perfect for beach going or to restaurants - everything is so close yet when you are at the house the rest of the world seems so far away.
Thanks to Maddy & Will a wonderful stay and for a perfect start to our summer.
The owners really maintain this lovely cottage. It was adorable and clean. About a mile from the beach. I spent the week with 3 teens. While they slept in each morning, I watched sunrises and lobster fishermen on the deck while enjoying my coffee. Peaceful, quiet, tranquil mornings, it was a heavenly place to be. I feel asleep each night to the waves crashing on the rocks. It was a wonderful week. Having a washer and dryer was also a huge plus.
Fishing right in your own backyard !
