A magnificent, fully refurbished 18th century château of approximately 450 m2 set in 5 hectares (12.35 acres) of land, this south-facing property offers stunning views of the sea (depending on the weather) and surrounding countryside.
Although the property is very private, the village with its local shops, restaurants and post office are only a 10 minute walk away. A local market takes place every Monday in neighbouring Châteauneuf de Grasse, where you can buy local produce and specialities and there are a choice of supermarkets within a 5 km range of the village.
The heart of the property is the large provencale kitchen, with glass doors opening out onto a terrace from where you can take in the magnificent view. With its La Cornue range cooker, walk-in fridge, fireplace and seating for 12, this kitchen is not only ideal for family cooking, but also for professional chefs, should you require one.
Also on the ground floor, you will find a study with TV/DVD (Netflix and Apple tv ); music room; large sitting room with TV/DVD(Netflix and Apple tv ) and original working stone fireplace, visitors' cloakroom; and laundry room.
On the remaining 2 floors, 5 suites and an additional double bedroom with adjoining WC, can give accommodation for 12 people. There is also an additional study/library area.Four of the six bedrooms have aircon ,fans are provided in all bedrooms.
Landscaped gardens, designed by James Basson, gold medal winner at Chelsea Flower Show, surround the house, offering an abundance of fruit and olive trees, indigenous plants and herbs and a splendid rose arboretum.
The heated, salt-water swimming pool is surrounded by a stone terrace with 12 sunbeds. Nearby, a covered outdoor seating area gives an additional area for repose and refreshments, whilst the more active can benefit from the equipped gymnasium, or a game of football, table tennis or boules.
The property is fenced and is accessed through electric gates. There is also an alarm system.
As a lot of streets in the area the access road is narrow and steep .
Le Bar sur Loup is a quaint hilltop village with a long history. Its micro-climate made it the ideal environment to grow flowers, such as jasmin and orange, which were used by the 'noses' of Grasse to create their perfumes. So much so , that the village is known as the 'City of Oranges' and celebrates its 'Fête de l'Oranger' annually on Easter Monday, with stands, workshops, competitions and spectacles open to all the public.
Birthplace of the Admiral of Grasse, who secured victory at the Battle of Yorktown and was instrumental in the American victory against the British in the American Civil War, senior generals and officials visit the village of Bar sur Loup in September each year to celebrate the Fête de la Marine. In fact Le Bar sur Loup is twin-towned with Yorktown.
Positioned only 20-25 minutes from Nice Airport, and with easy access to the beach-towns of Cannes and Antibes, which are only 30 minutes away, whilst remaining amongst the historic and natural beauty of the 'arrière-pays', any visitor can enjoy both the peace and tranquility of the countryside and nearby ski-resorts (most of which offer tiroliens during the summer), whilst remaining close enough to enjoy the buzz of the Riviera.

Château de la Bouscarle is available for weekly, or bi-weekly rental. It is not available for long term rental.
For normal changeover cleaning, the cleaning fee is included. Any extraordinary cleaning required will be charged as extra.
30% of Rental Price due as a deposit at time of booking.
