3 bedroom, 3 bathroom, open plan in private courtyard setting
About Property Manager
I bought this property with my business partner in 2008. We had the penthouse almost totally rebuilt in 2014 using one of London's leading architects Phil Coffey (the apartment also features on his website). I grew up on a farm in Herefordshire, studied music and spent most of my early life as a music teacher/director of music in private schools in London. Mark was born in London and spent most of his career as a lawyer, most recently as a partner of a large international law firm. We both now live in the Cotswolds where we jointly run a holiday accommodation business.

Why Property Manager chose London Borough of Camden
We bought this property due to its secluded location right in the heart of Central London. We wanted to have some outdoor space and also our own entrance from the street.

Wonderful location. Great communication with owners who are very helpful and very accommodating. We really enjoyed the patio access as well as the weather was cooperative. I hope to return in the future and appreciate the obvious effort the owners have put into this rental!
Excellent, Would Stay Again
This is a lovely flat in the heart of Covent Garden. The location is excellent for walking, dining, and sightseeing, as well as having easy access to two tube stops. Because of this, I was concerned that the neighborhood would be noisy, but it never was; we could even sit and listen to the birds sing, which was pleasantly surprising.
The "retractable walls" between the flat and the terraces were one of our favorite features of the property. We stayed during the first half of September,so the weather was still lovely, and we had the walls open whenever we were home.
The bedrooms and bathrooms were well-appointed and clean. Toiletries were provided.
The third bedroom does not have a functional closet. It has a utility closet filled with a water heater and the only hanging clothes space is three hooks on the wall of the closet and a couple more on the wall of the bedroom. This room would be fine for kids or a single adult without much clothing, but a couple could not function comfortably in there unless they hung their clothing in the master bedroom closet. There also is no drawer space, but there is a large window seat where things can be easily placed.
The kitchen is functional and sufficiently stocked for simple dining. The refrigerator is of the typical UK size, which may seem small to the uninitiated, but there is an additional wine refrigerator that helps to add cold storage space.
Renters should be careful of their toes in this flat! Whoever designed the cabinets didn't think to put in a kickspace, so the doors extend all the way to the floor and scrape painfully across your toes if you are not paying attention. Every single one of us drew blood at least once. It's a painful lesson, and you learn quickly to stand back!
The clothes washer and dryer work fine, although the washer does need to be cleaned and a note should be left instructing users to leave the washer cracked open between uses, as people who do not have front-loading washers don't realize that closing them between uses causes mildew to grow inside the machine. No big deal, cleaning supplies are provided and a simple wipe-down with the bleach-based kitchen cleaner had the mildew and odor gone in a jiffy.
The owners request no shoes in the house due to the type of flooring, but no slippers are provided. I would suggest they begin doing so, otherwise I believe most guests will ignore that request, which is a shame.
Overall, we loved this flat and will definitely stay again!
Great Choice for Families!!
For those looking for a flat that strikes a healthy balance between family-friendliness and proximity to 'grown-up' things, look no further! Honestly, my initial concern with the Covent Garden area was that there are many pockets of that neighborhood that can get pretty noisy at night. This flat, however, is very quiet since its main floor-to-ceiling windows (which conveniently fold away) face toward the private courtyard. Bedrooms are also very quiet since windows do not face the main street. Great bonus for those who prefer the quiet for themselves or young children (who can become little 'monsters' without a good night of sleep!).
Clean, modern, quiet apartment in a great location
We were very happy with our stay at this property - there were three comfortable bedrooms with their own bathroom, plus all the kitchen necessities. A private patio and balcony added to the charm and the homeowner was very quick to reply to questions. Plus, it was really clean (and I am very particular about that). There's a quick mart across the street and several restaurants, shops and theaters just steps away in any direction. The only downside we experienced was a lack of air conditioning but who could have predicted temperatures in the 90's at the end of August. Thanks Mark and Andrew!
wonderful centrally located apartment with nice views and outdoor seating. perfect for our week in London.
Our family of 4 (22yrs. & 14yrs.) had a wonderful stay in the apartment. It was everything we were looking for in a perfect location. There was plenty of room for us and the outdoor terrace & garden made everything memorable. Awesome restaurants and shopping all within easy walking distance. We hope to visit again in the future!
