Space 645 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Sleeps 4. 2 Bedrooms. 1 Bathroom.

Situated at the end of a cul-de-sac just off the provincial road between Passo Zambla and Ponte Nossa, the house overlooks the upper Valle del Riso. The wide views from the large balcony across to Monte Grem, with its alpine meadows and dense woodland on the lower slopes, can be enjoyed as you eat or savour a glass of wine. A small barbecue is set up by the covered patio allowing al freso dining even if the weather is not perfect! The garden is securely fenced and walled, making it ideal for your dog, and is sheltered on one side by a small pine wood. The ground floor also houses the boiler room with a laundry drying rack, and the single car garage. There is an additional parking space outside the front of the house.

The cosy living/dining room has an open fireplace, ideal for cooler out-of-season evenings, together with a wood-fueled room heater. This, combined with the central heating radiators in every room ensures you will always have a warm space to come home to. In addition to the soft seating for fireside relaxing, there is an extendable circular dining table with six chairs.

The kitchen, which overlooks the garden, has a fridge freezer, four burner gas oven and a double sink, and plenty of storage cupboards. The work surface can be folded down when not in use.

The bright, modern bathroom has a new shower cubicle and also houses the washing machine.

The main bedroom has one double (or two twin beds), and full length glazed french doors on to the balcony...with a pleasant hillside view to wake up to!

The second bedroom contains full sized bunk beds: an ideal children's room but suitable for two adults.

Please note: This is a non-smoking house. Internet is not provided, and there is no TV. You can really take a break from 24/7 connectivity!!

About Robin Brewster

I am a university lecturer, living in Italy but working in the Middle East. As a family we have always enjoyed being in the mountains and fell in love with Scullera. As I am often away from the Bel Paese (Italy), we decided to give other people a chance to share a little of our corner of this amazingly beautiful country.

Robin Brewster purchased this house in 2014

Why Robin Brewster chose Scullera

Although quite high up (about 800m above sea level) the house is easy to reach by car or even by bus (bus stop 100m). It is small enough to be cosy in the cooler months, with a log fire, log room heater and gas central heating, but airy and fresh in the summer, far above the humid 'afa' of the Padana plain. You can sit on the balcony, eating a full meal, or sipping a glass of your favourite wine while gazing out across the Val del Riso. And after heavy rain, you can hear the water tumbling down the valley.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We really enjoyed our stay in this two bedroom fully furnished villetta in Scullera just passed Oneta! Everything you would need available and excellent directions and communication from Robin. Breathtaking views of the area right on the balcony step. Lovely well priced pizza place just down the street. Note - heating does take a while to crank right up in winter so be prepared for that - there is also a wood fire stove through so you can sit around that to keep warm and electric blankets to preheat the main bed. Thanks again for the wonderful stay!

Excellent viletta in a beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

We would definitely recommend this apartment and this part of Italy, the Bergamasque Alps north of Bergamo. The mountains are magnificent, day trips to Bergamo and lago Iseo are also fairly easy.

The apartment itself is lovely. One with good facilities - a nice kitchen, washing machine, etc. The best thing about the property is its location and the view from the balcony !

Robin the owner is very helpful and friendly. and provides useful information.

We will visit this place again soon.

Owner's Response: Thank you! Happy renters make happy owners! We are always particularly pleased when our guests say they would like to come again. There is so much to see and do in the area that a couple of weeks may not be enough!

Relax assicurato

Ferienwohnung wie ein Sternehotel

  • 4 of 5

Also nochmal vielen Dank

Plenty of well marked walking routes in surrounding hills and forests. Nordic skiing circuits at Passo Zambla (5km). Suspended adventure climbing trails in the pine woods at Passo Zambla.

Fattoria Ariete is an educational farm, together with a mining museum at Gorno (4km).

Clusone has a weekly all-day street market every Monday in its medieval town centre (12km).

Five times a year, the waters are released in a spectacular burst of white water and vapour down Italy's highest waterfall at Cascate del Serio (Valbondione), about 30km.

In Scullera there is a safe play area for very young children, together with a 'bocce' court (similar to the French 'boules').

The excellent La Rustica pizzeria/restaurant serves the most delicious pizza prepared in a wood-fired oven. Their seasonal fresh pasta menu at lunch times is also worth more than one tasting!
