This place is pure Heaven! Come and visit soon!
We love to travel and rent VRBO or Homeaway homes or condos on almost every trip we take. It's so much better than staying in a hotel room, while enjoying a city or it's surrounding countryside. We make our mountain house feel like home away from home while visiting the beautiful North Carolina mountains.
We designed and built this house on 4 private acres, with views from every window. It's the perfect place to get away from every day life enjoying the beauty of the mountains and trout stream. It has all the conveniences, with lots of extras, to make it feel just like home and more. We love being a part of nature's beauty while hiking, boating on Lake Chatuge, white water rafting, fishing, the wild life, sitting around the fire pit and more. Many visits to the mountain house are with friends and family and sometimes it's just the two of us for a relaxing getaway. Everyone loves their time here whether it's just reading a good book, sitting by the fire, rocking on the deck, cooking, watching movies, lots of laughing, sharing and making good memories.
Overlook Mountain Home is truly a piece of heaven that we love sharing with our renters.
When we arrived we were not disappointed. We walked in and immediately felt at home; warm, cozy and inviting atmospere. I felt like I was at home and the views breathtaking. This is truly a beautiful area and so close to a lot. We were busy hiking and exploring. Lake Chatuge was beautiful and we walked across the dam. We would consider moving here when we retire. JUST LOVELY! Thanks for opening your home.
Great View! Well maintained and furnished; perfect outdoor fire pit; three outdoor covered areas to relax; no plastic outdoor furniture on the porch areas, just the real stuff; close to lakes, horse back riding, the town square of Hayesville, with restaurants and shops, and most importantly professional owners to work with for your vacation.
This is our 3rd stay at this house and we felt like we never left from the moment we walked in! Highly recommend staying in this mountain retreat. Coffee in the morning on the deck and evening sunsets definitely our favorite!
My husband and I and our 2 young children (4 & 7 yrs old) stayed here for a week at the end of June. We absolutely loved staying here! The kids loved the bunkroom downstairs and loved that they had their own TV to watch. The house was warm and welcoming! We spent a lot of time on the porch in the rocking chairs. The view was amazing! The owners take excellent care of this property. It had everything we needed and was very clean! We had trouble when we first got there getting the water pump on, and the owners were so helpful and stayed on the phone with us until everything was up and running.
The owners have done so much to improve the property! The trails they have been putting in to get down to the stream are wonderful, and I just can't imagine how much work that took! The paths are steep, but they made it very manageable, even for a 4 yr old with some assitance. We spent 3 afternoons down by the stream. It was so great especially since we were the only ones there. You can't get that at public areas. We really enjoyed that we didn't have to venture out if we didn't want to and could still enjoy an afternoon playing in the stream. The kids loved it!
I really can't say enough about this property. If you are looking for a nice, serene setting with a beautiful view to just unwind and relax, this is the place!
We stayed at Overlook Mountain the first weekend in February, and believe me when I say– this is a home away from home. We enjoyed the breath taking views from every window in the house and enjoyed strolling next to the beautiful frozen streams. The house is well maintained and very comfortable. The Reeves out did they selves with the landscape and décor. We enjoyed hiking by day and home cooked dinners, wine and a fire by night; who could ask for more. We will definitely return for another long weekend later this summer.
The listing description on this clean, well-maintained, peaceful property was spot on. The views were amazing, the fire pit was cozy and the beds/furnishings were comfortable. Directions were impeccable. Very enjoyable stay,
We fell in love with the cabin and surrounding area from the moment we stepped in. Clean, organized and well kept, decorated with alot of taste. The view from the balcony is awesome and changed constantly. The kitchen has everything that anyone would ever need and more. The TV/fireplace area is inviting, comfortable and all appliances had detailed explanation on how to use them. The bathrooms were clean/organized and well maintained. The owners provided great customer service, Celeste was always a call/text away and she answered all questions quickly. We spent most of our time in the cabin cooking and resting. The day that we went out, we drove to a small town in GA called Helen. It's about a 45 minute drive from the cabin and we spent the afternoon there. Helen's architecture is like going into a German small town. Lots of restaurants, bars, shopping. It was still decorated with Christmas so it was beautiful, we took a bunch of pictures... Overall the whole stay was fantastic, we would love to come back and we recommend this property to anyone who is interested in a quiet getaway. Frank & Nilka Colon, Miramar FL.
