Handcrafted timberframe guest cabin on beautiful Westcott Bay. Watch eagles, seals, and otters from your deck, or walk down to the beach to collect clams and oysters for dinner. All the amenities of Roche Harbor (shops, restaurants, swimming, tennis, and more) are only a 5 minute walk away.

At the end of a long and active day, take a sunset kayak journey out into the bay, and listen as the silence of the islands falls. Truly a place to appreciate the beauty of nature.

Best vacation in this quaint cottage

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a wonderful weekend in this quaint cottage! The architecture of this lodge-style cottage is outstanding, and the property and view of the Westcott Bay positively breathtaking. We captured the full moon shining on the bay at night, had wonderful conversations over fresh seafood and wine on the covered patio, enjoyed a walk to Roche Harbor, and on Sunday we found ourselves not wanting to leave! This is a special slice of heaven and we can't wait to return.

Semiahmoo weekend

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed the condo very much. Being on the ground floor and so easily accessible to the beach was very enjoyable. The golf there is fantastic and we saw lots of boat traffic as it was opening day for dungeness crab. We missed watching the first preseason game of the Seahawks because the TV didn't have a DVR. But getting away from the TV was a better option anyway. I do think that you need to clear the bird nests on the outside fixtures because they make a real mess below. There is a ferry boat for passengers that goes from the Semiahmoo resort next door over to the Blaine spit. Thats pretty convenient instead of driving around. the sunken livingroom is attractive, but presents a challenge for older folks who may not see it, or don't easily negotiate it. It should have a railing in the center to "announce" that there is a drop there.

Wonderful getaway!

  • 4 of 5

This cabin was perfect for our needs! Quiet and on the water, neighbors are close but we did not hear or see them. Porch is perfect for morning coffee, reading and evening relaxing. The ladder to the loft was not a problem for us, but would be for those with physical limitations. The cabin was clean, great cooking space, and the woodwork inside is beautiful. My husband used the kayak twice, added bonus! Would definitely use again!

Semi private. Saw next door neighbors a few times. No life jackets to wear for kayaking so bring your own. Quiet & peaceful. We slept soundly. Fully equipped kitchen. Tons of wildlife to watch & admire. Wood stove warmed cabin quickly. Steep ladder to master bed in loft. Would be uncomfortable having young children up there. Clean!! Enjoyed ourselves. Memorable stay. Beautiful cabin.

Exactly as Advertised

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here for a destination wedding in Roche Harbor. This cottage was a great deal for the cost relative to what you get, and Kathy did a great job making this easy for us. The cabin is exactly as advertised... great view, good amount of room, and all of the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. Thanks Kathy!

The only down sides that I can think to mention (and of course, perspective is important here) is that entertainment was a little lacking... Kathy had a bose sound dock but it's the old style iPhone 4 connection so that didn't work for us, and there is neither wifi nor tv. So, it's a bit of a time capsule in that regard, but we were busy on the island and had a great time regardless. I also thought that the water wasn't quite as accessible as I would have liked, especially at low tide... so that would have made kayaking a little tough had the weather been warmer and we wanted to do that. Otherwise, I really really loved San Juan Island, Friday Harbor, Roche Harbor, and this little cabin.

Lovely stay on Wescott Bay

  • 5 of 5

The house on Westcott Bay was delightful. So close to the water and beautiful views. The house is very nicely appointed and offers everything you need for a very romantic weekend getaway.

Some people write about a house that is close, but it is nothing to concern yourself about. You will have a great time at this beautiful home on Westcott Bay in Roche a Harbor anytime of the year. The weather is always sunny, the sights are beautiful and the house is warm and welcoming. All you need to bring are your good friends and your love for nature and the beautiful San Juans.

Thank you for a very nice time. We hope to return in the near future.
