Seapuit enclave is a unique upscale community, hidden just off the Village, with professionals, executives & others, enjoying their homes year-round, or for summer & weekend retreats. Our rental history includes 6 years where couples/families booked ENTIRE summer seasons for themselves, sometimes repeating. Tenants praised the quiet serenity, privacy, gorgeous surrounding nature, comfort, and amenities. Also, our thoughtfulness & care in furnishing and accessorizing the house, with its charming decor. They love the convenience to Osterville's robust year-round village, CC Academy, fitness center, easy access to the Mid-Cape highway, island ferries, Provincetown, commercial centers, & other regional attractions in Boston and Newport, RI. .
We purchased the property hoping to oneday. However, retirement still eludes us, but we love opportunities to visit off and on in all seasons, every year.
AJ purchased this house in 2004
Primarily because of its location in Osterville's woodsy Seapuit enclave, with its unique privacy and exclusivity, where most properties are owner-occupied. Also, because of its close walking proximity to the Cape's most charming Village (terrific restaurants), and scenic walks to bayfronts. Easy access by bike or car to our own Dowses Beach. A bonus: Osterville is truly a "destination" village, positioned OFF and AWAY from the main tourist roadways at all other Cape communities, which are plagued by bumper to bumper traffic, all the way through their village centers.
Gracious living, all on one floor in the Main House, with each bedroom having it's own private bath. Also, the added benefit of an Optional studio "Guest Cottage", with it's own deck, pretty view, and separate entrances, nicely separated from the Main House with strategic landscaping.
We are winding down our approximately 10 month stay in this lovely privately located home in the Sepuit area of Osterville. It has been the perfect retreat while we are building our new home. The owners have paid attention to detail! They could not be more accommodating, making certain we have every
amenity possible. If you are seeking comfort in a relaxing setting, close to a beautiful seaside village, this is the place for you!
We has a glorious July and August in this lovely home. The owner accommodated provided every tiny desire and things we hadn't even dreamed of. The kitchen was new and fully equipped. Everything was immaculate and in perfect working order. The beach was 10 minutes from the house and we were there most afternoons with great beach chairs and towels provided by the owner. The linens were pristine, the beds comfortable. Four tv's with cable easy to use.
Our guests enjoyed their stay. We accommodated 9 people at one time very easily. Our stay was flawless. Thank you so much. Ellen Kempler Rosen
This is a gem of a rental for a family that prizes exceptional comfort in a style that suggests a New England version of "Southern Living." Having spent many years in Osterville, my husband and I were delighted to see the pictures of this lovely home with its tasteful décor and sunlit rooms. The owner attended to our every need; he offered useful suggestions and local lore gained from his many years in the area. We were amazed at the spaciousness of every room. The master bedroom, with its walk-in closet, and the guest bedrooms are not only lovely, but also each has its own full bathroom. Although the weather in early June was rainy, with so many rooms, we found our family and ourselves entirely comfortable. Strolling the charming main street, as we often had many years ago, we found the new library a delightful and useful attraction. However, the best of the town hadn’t changed -nestled between salt-water bays, Osterville offers not only charm but a beach and a lovely golf course. For anyone who is hoping to rent an enchanting, spacious home in one of the Cape’s most charming towns, this is a wonderful choice.
Our family of five spent three wonderful weeks at this charming cape home in a beautiful part of Osterville. The home was spacious and comfortably appointed. We appreciated each bedroom having a private updated bath as well as having several living areas to relax either together or separately. The outdoor spaces were beautifully landscaped and meticulously maintained. Everything we needed was provided for us from hair dryers to wine glasses to the necessary pots and pans. The owner did everything he could to make our stay enjoyable.
The true test of how much we enjoyed the house was that after each day's outing, we were happy to come home to this wonderful home. If our next year's summer plans include a visit to the cape, we will definitely be back!
We have spent two summer vacations at this property, and believe the house and grounds are absolutely outstanding, clearly a Five Star rating for a rental property. Located on 21/2 acres of ground, the property is beautiful, well maintainted and very private. The house is great with three comfortable bedrooms, each with bath, a large living room, well appointed dining room, a first rate kitchen with a nice den and screened in porch.. There is also a wonderful terrace overlooking the back yard. We have entertained friends while leasing the property, and they have all been very impressed. We are looking forward to our third summer this July and August (2012) when we will be renting the property again.
We had almost given up on finding an exceptional and comfortable place to stay on the Cape this winter, then we found this beautiful house on 2+ acres in the private Seapuit neighborhood of Osterville. The grounds and house are immaculate and very comfortable. The owners have seen to our every need.
The house is very spacious and airy, tastefully decorated and well-appointed. Each bedroom has a private bath (and a spare half bath for guests). The house is set back nicely from the street, which has a small number of houses and little traffic. There is a two-car garage and plenty of space to park cars on and around the circular drive. There is even a screened porch and a backyard patio for warm weather entertaining.
Osterville village is very close (and even walkable, at approximately 1 mile away). This quaint village has some of the finest shopping and dining on the Cape.
We are approaching the end of our long and pleasant rental and will hate to leave. We know we will miss our frequent walks through this beautiful and scenic neighborhood on the bays.
Osterville is Cape Cod's most charming and vibrant community, located between HyannisPort (home of Kennedy family compound) & Cotuit, mid-Cape on Nantucket Sound. A destination village, off the beaten track, without the pass-thru tourist traffic found everywhere else. The Village & its marinas have wonderful restaurants, for both casual & fine dining. The shops and art galleries are full of beautiful & unique offerings. Our own Dowses Beach is pristine (surf on one side & calm waters on the other). Two private golf clubs, & a public course 3 miles away. Day trips to scenic & colorful Provincetown, Heritage Plantation & Plymouth Rock; ferries to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard Islands. Newport, with it's famous Mansions, Tennis Hall of Fame. Loads of kids activities all over the Cape.
Other Activities: Kayaking, Cape Cod National Seashore, sand dunes, antiquing, boating, and fishing. Two excellent private golf clubs in town, plus nearby public courses.
