Casita de las Palomas...
* Away from the noise and pollution of El Centro, yet walking distance to the Jardin.
* This one bedroom casita has its own private sculpture garden with the soft sounds of the fountain in the koi pond, the rustling of bamboo and the cooing of doves. A beautiful patio with lounges, table for six for outdoor dinning and barbecue. There is low voltage garden lighting for evening ambiance.

The separate bedroom has a queen-size feather bed and duvet, with TV, DVD, Netflix, telephone, and a large DVD library. The bath has a custom new, beautiful marble, walk in shower with seat and safety bar. Bathroom is well lit from above skylights, and plenty of closet space.

I have lived in San Miguel de Allend since Jan. 16th 1986. I am a sculptor working in clay and bronze. When not sculpting I enjoy cooking and gardening and my two dogs Chila and Charlie. After all these years I am more in love with San Miguel than ever. My family lives in California and I visit them often.
Shortly after coming to San Miguel I purchased a small piece of land covered with Mague plants. The following year I began construction, building in the Mexican tradition, little by little. The house and casita evolved into what it is today. San Miguel is know for it's fair weather, clear light, birds, bells, and flowers. The house is on a hill side, not too close, or too far from the center of town. If I were to do it again, I would do nothing differently.
The casita is an easy walk to town. If you choose to take a taxi or bus home at the end of the day it is under $3. The casita has a private patio and garden. It changes with the seasons. Summer is our cool and green rainy season. My favorite. Most months the patio can be enjoyed in the evenings. You will awaken to the early morning light and song of the birds. There is a Rinnai heater and an electric blanket for the winter months.
how to describe "sharon's casita" without sounding trite or redundant? let's start with 2 people who both have substantial left and right brain sensibilities. we appreciate attention to detail at all levels. my beau (engineer) was in awe of the construction/materials/craftsmanship of exterior and interior.
while i was having my own love affair with art work/furnishings/kitchen + amenities/ spacious bath/outdoor garden. we explored the town exclusively on foot to get a sense of the people/architecture etc. we ate as many meals in as we did at restaurants because the ambience of the casita lends itself to home entertaining. our stay of two weeks was over before it began. so next time we will most assuredly extend our visit with sharon/francisca/carlos/charlie/chila. thanks ever so much for a memorable holiday.
This property is as beautiful as the pictures reflect. The gardens are absolutely lovely. Sharon is a gracious hostess who helps with every detail. Francisca and Carlos, the staff, are kind and friendly. There is a climb up to the casita which can be either invigorating or a challenge, depending on the day. However cabs are plentiful and inexpensive.
I would recommend this as an excellent place to stay during spring, summer and fall. I would suggest, however, during the winter season that only the most hardy rent this casita as it is very cold, even with the heater. There is no direct sunlight into the house or garden during December, January and much of February and it can be bone chilling.
We were so excited to finally stay in San Miguel. Well, it was even more special staying in a beautiful Casita, that was warm, cozy and the decor was so well done! Sharon, was so nice and someone you felt you have known forever! Very helpful and made our first night, very welcoming after a long drive! Sharon's home is beautiful and the garden outside the Casita is wonderful to wake up to. My favorite, were the all the windows and great decor! A place that after a day out, was so special to look forward to coming back to and relax. We ate in a few times, which was very romantic. The bedroom and bed was very comfortable, the TV worked great.
Bathroom nice size for two and the shower was great. Lots of closet space.
I cannot say enough about this amazing Casita. I would go back in a second. Yes, the Casita was magical. Francisca and Carlos were part of Sharon's staff, they were very nice.
San Miguel de Allende is such a special place. The restaurants are the best, very reasonable, we went to a great piano bar and enjoyed walking the city, viewing the old Colonial buildings. Lots of little nooks and crannies to explore! Much more reasonable then Europe!
Shari and I had the time of our lives staying in San Miguel de Allende and in partitular staying in Sharon's guest home. We spent 3 weeks in June and returned home the 1st week in July.
I don't think you could find a more beautiful and convenient place to enjoy San Miguel. The accomodations far excel any photograghs on the web page. The living area, bedroom, and the private garden are simply beyond compare. Many evenings we simply spent in the garden having cocktails and then had dinner in. It would be hard to duplicated these accomodations anywhere!!
If you are looking for a comfortable and tasteful experience in San Miguel de Allende you will find it here. We hope to return often and will always check to see if this is available first. It was magical!!

I spent last February happily ensconced in Casita Las Palomas, where I felt very much at home. It has all of the amenities of a luxury hotel, with the privacy and charm of a private guest house intended for family and friends. It is spacious, artistically appointed, well-equipped for long term stays, with a gracious owner and unintrusive, accommodating staff. The lovely garden was the perfect place to read, write and retreat from the high energy of El Centro. I personally enjoyed the exercise of the walk to and from town, but on the few evenings I decided to cab it back, a taxi was easy to flag and inexpensive. I look forward to spending another month there next year!
We spent a wonderful month at this cozy and comfortable casita overlooking the most beautiful and tranquil sculpture garden. We would often relax in the casita till mid- afternoon, before thinking of venturing out for the day. As a travel agent, I am always looking for great places to send my clients and Sharon's warm hospitality combined with her extensive knowledge of San Miguel gave us one of our best vacations ever. We truly miss it. In fact, we will be relocating to San Miguel soon and look forward to seeing our friend Sharon.
