Cottage, 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 5), On water, Olympic Mountain view
The Salmon Run Beach Getaway is situated on the beach on 60 feet of no-bank waterfront near Coupeville, on the sunny west side of beautiful Whidbey Island. What an awesome panorama! Sip an evening glass of wine or a morning coffee and gaze at the snow-capped Olympic Mountains, see the big ships go by, watch the eagles fish - or maybe spot porpoise, seal or the occasional whale playing in the water.
Watch hawks hunting in the prairie from the deck on the other side of the cottage. Feel yourself unwind! Some of the best salmon fishing is to be had right in front of the cottage! The Coupeville area offers many quaint shops and restaurants within a short drive, or walk/drive onto the nearby ferry and take a day trip to Port Townsend. Many activities are at hand – hiking, biking, golf, fishing, bird watching, beach walks, and diving. The cottage is approximately 1100 square feet and is decorated in a beach theme, with an interesting mix of new and antique. Wi-fi. IPOD sound system. Your lodging sleeps a maximum of 5 persons: the master bedroom has a Queen bed with a down/feather comforter, loft has twin beds, and the small bedroom has a twin bed. There is one full bathroom.
This waterfront getaway has been open since 2003 and many guests have returned for the beautiful location and clean, well-equipped accommodation. Owner-managed!

About Sandy and Bill
Here we are - Bill and Sandy - fishing for salmon right on our beach in front of the Salmon Run Beach Getaway just as the sun is setting over the Olympic Mountains. We have spent fun times with our 3 children and friends at our cottage and have made many lifetime memories. We love sharing our vacation home with our guests and want you to enjoy it just as much as we do!
Sandy and Bill purchased this Cottage in 2003
Why Sandy and Bill chose Coupeville
We fell in love with Whidbey Island and then with the cottage and its amazing water views and beach-front location. On the other side of the cottage is a wide open prairie where we watch birds of prey hover. We like to ride our tandem bicycle, fish, and take walks. Coupeville is right in the middle of Whidbey Island so it is an ideal location. We ride our tandem to the ferry and take it over to Port Townsend for the day or ride into Coupeville to pick up a huge cinnamon roll at the Knead and Feed bakery or have a red ale at Toby's.
What makes this Cottage unique
We enjoy the wonderful location, sitting on our deck with a cup of tea or glass of wine watching what is coming through the shipping lanes - a cruise ship, submarine, or tug boat pulling a barge. We have seen seals, dahl porpoise, many sea birds, eagles, and sea otters. We keep wanting to explore more of the island but when we reach the cottage, we never seem to want to leave it!

Good excuse to do nothing.
I'm a caregiver to a paralyzed spouse so my sister-in-law whisked me away to Salmon Run for 5 days. It poured but it was perfect for us as we wanted nothing more than an excuse to sit in the livingroom looking out at the gorgeous view, drinking cups of tea, and stitching, stitching, stitching. Bliss!
We love this home. My wife and I escape to the island as often as possible. We’ve stayed at Salmon Run a few times and it’s a great place. Great views of the water and quiet surroundings help to melt the ill effects of the city away. We will return as soon and as often as we can.
We couldn't have asked for a better home to stay in for the new year. Views were amazing at sunset and sunrise and the home was so quaint and relaxing. We will definitely be back for another stay in the future.
Such an amazing time! This is my 3rd year staying here and I look forward to next year! Beautiful, peaceful and restful!
Bill and Sandy are just wonderful and I'm grateful to have this place to get away too!
cozy little spot!
We loved it here-- beautiful vistas, interesting neighborhood, lots of driftwood and even a quiet street for biking.
Relaxing, fun-filled family weekend
The ideal cabin for families-kids had a blast in the loft, we had a blast downstairs. The cabin has everything you need for a perfect weekend: games, movies, wine opener...
The abundant rocks, shells and driftwood kept us busy for hours The proximity to Coupeville, parks and beaches provided endless possibilities. A great mix of activities and relaxation!
Step out of the cottage and go fishing or relax on your own private slice of beach. Watch the big shipping traffic pass by as you sit on the deck - you may see a submarine. Hike, fly a kite, or visit the lighthouse at nearby Fort Casey State Park. Ebey's Landing is the best place for a sunset and the most beautiful hike you can imagine - walk along the cliff - from the top you can see both the Olympic and Cascade Mountain ranges - then look for agates along the beach on the return trip. Drive a few minutes to the Coupeville ferry terminal and take a day trip to Port Townsend - watch out for orcas or porpoise as you cross - there, visit the Northwest Maritime Center, buy delicious bread at Pane Amore or visit the farmers market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. A 10-minute drive from the cottage takes you to historic Coupeville - sample an ice cream at Kapaws, visit the Coupeville Museum, or try eating fresh mussels at one of our local restaurants - Saturday 10-2 is the Farmers Market behind the Coupeville library. Drive a short distance and have a loganberry pie at the Greenbank Farm, visit Meerkerk Rhododendron Gardens, or try wine tasting at several Whidbey Island wineries. Don't forget to check dates for the many festivals going on around the Island. You won't run out of things to see and do!
