Charlevoix House Rental Photos and Description

House, 4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Spacious, private, casual elegance can be found in this 2007 remodeled historic downtown home. You will be close to downtown, beaches, new marina, new East Park and Band Shell.

Huge kitchen with bar for entertaining and cooking. Cozy, but spacious front porch perfect for people watching and sharing a cool drink in the evening. Large deck in the back yard with wonderful firepit

Listen to the waves on Lake Michigan Beach or the rustle of the birch leaves. Even rainy days are great when you're just a block away from the new library with internet access, children's sculpture garden or 1 1/2 blocks to the cinema.

Why Kristin chose Northern Michigan

There's no better confluence of clear water, waves, sandy beaches, rivers, woods and meadow anywhere in the country. This is Hemingway country and it only takes a day to see what America's most famous writer saw in the area. The town is small and compact but full of fun and activities. Its secluded and out of the way but easy to access and get around. Charlevoix is a great base to explore--wether on Lake Michigan Beaches, sailing or boating on Round Lake or Lake Charlevoix or just strolling through town.

What makes this house unique

Being in-town in Charlevoix brings us close to the action and the necessities without having to worry about putting in and taking out a dock every year. We are close to everything so you never have to get in your car. We don't even bring groceries with us when we come up because Oleson's is a fun walk down the block. But we can still hear the waves come in and feel the cool breeze and take a short walk to the beach 2 or 3 times a day then stroll downtown for a burger at the Villager Pub or the fireworks display over Round Lake or band performance at the newly remodeled band shell. The kids and the adults love the library which I tell people is one of the most beautiful public libraries in the country.

Great getaway, convenient to town, nice amenities, quiet neighborhood, free wi-fi

  • 5 of 5

We 3 gals, ages 55+ and stayed here for a three night getaway. The kitchen has everything we needed. We used the two bedrooms/two baths on the main level. We didn't need the two vintage upstairs bedrooms but they would be perfect for children/young adults (there is no bathroom upstairs, FYI). We didn't use the outside back deck or grill but did sit on the front porch each day, with coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. The living room had comfy furnishings, tv & dvd. We didn't use the washer/dryer but certainly would have if we were staying longer. We walked the beach, downtown, shops, restaurants and marina areas. Bath/beach towels/bedding were abundant. Keep in mind that you need to bring your own toilet paper, paper towels, etc. The "owner's manual" and brochures about the area were very helpful. Kristin was prompt with emails and also refunded our damage deposit very quickly. We would definitely contact her again for future Charlevoix travel plans, as she has more than one vacation rental available.

Would Return Again

  • 5 of 5

Our visit to Charlevoix (my first) exceeded our expectations. The town and surrounding locations suggest a return is needed in the near future. Our vacation rental more then fit our group of 7, and all the amenities were in working order. Noteworthy, a mishap beyond the owner's control required her attention upon our arrival. I was more then pleased how quickly she responded to remedy the situation, so as not to adversly affect our visit. I would recommend this lodging to anyone considering Charlevoix.

Great Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We love the blue college! It was in an excellent location 2 blocks from the beach 2 blocks from downtown beautiful home with a big fully equipped kitchen. We had an excellent time. The only thing that I would recomend for an improvement is is to have the towels be replaced in the main bathroom and need to have toilet paper stocked. We would definitely recomend this to our friends. We are looking forward to staying there again!
