Built in 2006, the house sits at the highest point of eight acres of macadamia nut and citrus trees and tropical flowers. Everything you need for your vacation home is here: linens, paper products, quiet. No one lives on the property but our guests. If you love to cook, come prepared to enjoy the fully equipped kitchen. Washer, dryer, cable TV with DVD player, phone service to the mainland, and WiFi access for your laptop are available. As is true of most private homes in Hana, there is no air conditioning, but ceiling fans are in every room and on the outdoor lanai.

A total of four guests can be accommodated with both bedrooms. There is a three night minimum stay. Two night stays will be considered within 30 days of rental with the addition of a $60 cleaning fee. One night reservations will NOT be accepted. HHH is a legally permitted property.

2. Amplified sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries of the home is prohibited.

3. Vehicles must park in the designated area next to the front entrance. No parking on the Hana Highway is permitted.

About Helene Orsulak

We are retired boomers who live in Denver when not enjoying our home in Hana.

Helene Orsulak purchased this house in 2000

Why Helene Orsulak chose Hāna

Though we were not in the market for property, the previous owner offered it for sale to his tenants of the previous year. We enjoyed our stay so much, we bought the place!

Trip of a Lifetime

  • 5 of 5

The Hana Highway leads to a little piece of heaven...the property is lush and gorgeous!

The house is clean and well-stocked with paper goods, beach towels, beach chairs, etc.

The kitchen is user friendly with great pots & pans, etc. and the view while cooking is

wonderful. Good beds and a great shower room...can you tell we just loved the place?

We could not have possibly enjoyed the house and property more than we did during our stay in Hana. The home was exceptionally well equipped, clean, and location was perfect. Thank you Helene for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home, we hope to return soon!

Beautiful Home

  • 5 of 5

Very beautiful home with many fruits to enjoy during our stay. It was enchanting waking up to the beautiful landscaping. Everything about the home is beautiful, from the drive way to the layout of the home. If I ever visit again, I would not pick any other place.

Exceeded expectations!!!

  • 5 of 5

Believe all the other positive reviews - this place is absolute heaven on earth. Rather than repeat what everyone else has already said, I 'd like to give some hints and suggestions to make your time in this beautiful home and area even better.

The owner's suggestion to shop before you get to Hana is spot on. Though you can certainly fill out your grocery needs in town, you will be much happier if you do your big shop by the airport. We went to Whole Foods, which was an absolute zoo. We were unable to find cheap foam coolers at the drugstore by Whole Foods, but WF sold nice quality insulated bags and gave away free small bags of ice to keep everything cold. These worked well. The house is very well stocked with spices, oil and vinegar, so don't worry about buying those (we added to that stockpile since I wasn't sure). We purchased aluminum foil and I wish we had purchased some Saran wrap because the house had neither. There is plenty of laundry and dish detergent. The shampoo and conditioner are of very good quality, so no need to buy those either.

We got up early every morning and were almost the only people on the hikes we did. The road to Haleakala National Park was even more harrowing than the Road to Hana, so brace yourself. There are also two fantastic hikes at the black sand state park less than a mile from the home. We were overwhelmed with the beauty all around us and on these hikes. At the house, we spent hours just sitting on the porch listening to the birds sing and gawking at the gorgeous plantings and flowers. It's just beyond anything we've seen on the mainland.

I had a massage at the Taravaasa Hotel. My therapist, Amy, was terrific - highly recommend this spa. There's a botanical garden that's well worth checking out, but be sure you get the right one. There is a crappy looking sign saying something like Hana Maui Gardens. Keep going down the road until you get to the sign that advertises the Kahanu Garden. This is the legit site you want. Entrance fee is $10/person and well worth it.

There are several different food truck options. We really enjoyed Da Fish Shack and I thought Huli Huli Chicken was yummy. On your way back to West Maui or the airport, Mama's Fish House is HIGHLY recommended. Reservations are necessary and prepare to open your wallet wide, but it's absolutely superb!

We feel incredibly fortunate that we were able to spend a week here. Enjoy and relax!

Wonderful Stay!

  • 5 of 5

This is one of my favorite places I've stayed. The home is beautiful, modern and clean. The beautiful flower arrangement and fresh fruit were very welcoming. The property is beautifully landscaped and we really enjoyed going out and picking fruit. The home had anything we needed to cook meals, and an amazing stove! I spent most of my time out in the screened in porch. The soaker tub is my dream tub and I think the outdoor shower was my favorite. We would definitely stay again.
