About Ken Bloch

For the last 20 years I have been a full-time Realtor, currently with Keller Williams Realty in Charlotte, NC. Specializing in the Lake Norman area about 20 miles north of Charlotte. Over the years I have learn location, location location are the 3 most important words in real estate. I strongly feel that I have a great central location to all the activities you will want to do on your visit to the High Country. Come spend sometime at my cabin and find out for yourself!

Ken Bloch purchased this cabin in 2004

Why Ken Bloch chose Blowing Rock

Being a Realtor I know that LOCATION is key when buying Real Estate. I spent several years looking for the perfect cabin in the perfect location and I finally found it. The community is well hidden but easy to get to yet it's conveniently located 6-7 miles from Blowing Rock, Boone, Valle Crucis (home of the Original Mast General Store) and many other nearby amenities including Boone Golf Course, which is open to the public, numerous great places to hike, Grandfather Mountain, Tweetsie Railroad, and Banner Elk.

What makes this cabin unique

Peace and quite, beautiful views, nature (a good chance you will see deer or turkeys) all of the great amenities I have added to the cabin including pool table, hot tub, 60 inch Plasma TV to watch your favorite sports team or Blue Ray for movies, TV's in every bedroom, some with DVD's and a 46" Flat Panel LCD TV & DVD player in family room. You won't be roughing it here.

Relaxing Stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a very restful time as a family of 8. The cabin looked just like the pictures. We really enjoyed the wood fireplace, wrap around porch, hot tub, downstairs movie room, large dining table, and having multiple floors for family activities. We stayed 7 nights and cooked every meal at the cabin. There is some excellent hiking within an hour. Our recommendations are Little Lost Cove Cliffs Trail, Gragg Prong, and Huntfish Falls (especially when the weather is warm enough to swim). Thanks to Ken for doing a great job maintaining the cabin. We'd return for sure.

Very nice place!!

  • 5 of 5

We booked this property as one of two locations for a large family reunion. The house is really nice! We really enjoyed the large porches and nice views. It's in a good location - relatively close to Boone, but still nice and quiet. We were there in the peak of summer, so at times AC would have been nice, but it's pretty uncommon for the area. Overall, really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back!

The house is a wonderful house. It is very big and has alot of space.

  • 3 of 5

Overall we enjoyed out stay. There were some problems but only one that really bothered us. The hot tub was not working. I contacted Ken and he contacted the spa company. That day a service man came out. He was very nice and knowledgeable. He replaced a fuse but he also commented the pump needed replacing due the noise it was making. Not 30 minutes after he left it stopped working again. We did not get to use the hot tub at all. Ken did allow us to stay late on the day we checked out.

The area is nice, driveway is very steep and very limited parking area.

All in all the house was nice and our trip was very enjoyable.

Owner's Response: I am happy to hear you and your family were able to enjoy your stay. From time to time things do break and I address them as soon as possible, but I am at the mercy of the repair companies scheduling and them having the needed parts in stock. In this case a new pump had to be ordered but it's back up and working now. Inclined driveways are pretty common in the mountains and I do have parking for 4-5 vecihles. Ken

Beautiful cabin.

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was just like the pictures. Beautiful cabin. I would recommend the cabin.

However I did have a problem, which was the hot tub was not working and that was one of the reasons we choose the cabin. I did call Ken and he answered right away, but there wasn't anything he could do about the hot tub. My complain is we should have been credited something for the hot tub not working. Ken did offer us a late check-out but that didn't work when you have somewhere to be.

Our family still had a wonderful time.

Owner's Response: I am happy to hear you and your family were still able to enjoy your stay. I understand it's disappointing when things break and service is needed. I did call for service immediately on Saturday afternoon but unfortunately they were not able to come out until Monday. They came out and they had the hot tub up and working that afternoon. Hope you and your family will come back again someday. - Ken

Perfect cabin in the woods, very relaxing stay!

The cabin was neat, well-appointed, with a wonderful hot tub and fireplace. The owner even provided wood for the cozy fires we enjoyed. The view was lovely. Highly recommend!

Great cabin and perfect location!!!

  • 5 of 5

Nestled in Crystal Mountain this beautiful cabin getaway is 10 minutes from downtown Boone, 15 minutes from downtown Blowing Rock, and minutes away from excellent fishing, hiking, or other outdoor entertainment! We spent a week here June 27th through July 4th 2015. Well furnished, well decorated, and clean this cabin has all the amenities for a large family. Though we did not rest a whole lot as we have four teenage children, this cabin was nothing less than an extension of our home. Ken does a meticulous job with attention to detail from explaining the rules of the house, to items you may require during your visit, to places of interest and great nearby restaurants and stores. Our favorite things were early morning coffee on the deck and challenging evening walks around the neighborhood (the residents of Crystal Mountain are super friendly). We will definitely be back to visit Ken’s beautiful Mountain Getaway in the years to come.
