Something about the within home cooking class:
Here are some informations about how a cooking class usually works: I arrive at 8:30 am to go shopping together at the fresh food market in S. Ambrogio (the market is open only in the morning), then we go immediately back to the apartment to cook for lunch. The cooking class last untill 12:30 - 1:00 pm. The cost of the cooking class is 250 euros (in total and not for each person) and at the market you buy the ingredients we need.
Usually the menu consists in three different dishes: an appetizer; a main course and a dessert.
I can suggest a typical Tuscan menu such as: Crostini di fegatini (crostini with chicken liver paté); Crespelle alla fiorentina (Spinach and Ricotta filled crepes); Tiramisù

My name is Claudia Morace. I am 70 years old, I have a daughter, she is a pianist and two sons lawyers as my husband was.I have also eight grandchildren.
I love taking personally care of my house and of my apartments in Florence.
I love flowers, nature, people and life
claudia Morace purchased this apartment in 2002
I had to sell a wonderful family property of 1880 in Austria.
I decided to make an investment in Florence and in Chianti area.
I think than better than me some comments from the guest book will describe the apartments, and the reasons why my location is very special.
We finally arrived home late last Wednesday evening (actually at 2:00 am Thursday morning Canadian time) following a long day of travel. Our day was even longer when we discovered at Florence airport that we were one hour ahead since, we had no idea that the daylight saving time change had already occurred in Italy on Sunday! Consequently we were one hour ahead of the rest of Florence for our last three days! Daylight savings did not come into effect in Canada until this past weekend.
Once again we want to thank you for all of your help in making our Italian vacation most memorable. Your apartment was very comfortable and so well equipped it almost felt like home! We thoroughly enjoyed meeting you, Arnaldo and your son Marco and also your American friends. Thank you also for the olive oil and the wine. We enjoyed the wine in Florence and will put the olive oil to good use here in Canada.

We rented this wonderful apartment because we wanted to be within walking distance of the major attractions. The apartment worked very well for two couples and would be great for a family. It was very clean and comfortable. Claudia is wonderful - she had great recommendations for where to eat, the fridge was stocked with some welcoming snacks and goodies when we arrived. We also very much appreciated having the washing machine. One of the best added benefits of this apartment was that there was a local cell phone - taxis don't get hailed in Florence, you have to call for them or walk to a taxi stand - this saved time and feet both. Claudia was very friendly and the only thing will do different when we stay again is take her up on the opportunity to tour her family's farm - we had already packed our time with tours and such but we should have made time for that. One caveat for those traveling from the US - elevators or lifts are extremely rare in all the place we went in Tuscany and this is up several flights of stairs - but every place is and you quickly get used to it.
I can't say enough great things about this apartment and working with Claudia. She was wonderful to communicate with prior to our arrival and when we arrived, she met us at the apartment. The apartment was very clean and well cared for, and the beds were very comfortable. We loved the personal touch of the fresh fruit and olive oil, and she gave us helpful information to get around Florence.
The apartment was perfect for our family of 5, we could spread out and have some alone time if needed. The balcony was great and the air conditioning was appreciated. The location was perfect for us and made walking to all of the beautiful sites very easy.
I would highly recommend this apartment if you are traveling to Florence! It made a beautiful city even better!!
My mother, sister and friend stayed in this lovely apartment located in the center of Florence, only 5 minutes walk from the Duomo, with excellent restaurants and a grocery store located only minutes away. The apartment is beautifully appointed, spacious and comfortable, and includes a dishwasher and washing machine. We felt completely at home and walked everywhere. Claudia, the owner, is a very gracious hostess and she more than achieved her goal of making the apartment as nice as she would want it if she lived there! She is very available if any concerns or questions arise, and personally likes to meet her clients if at all possible. She is an absolute delight in every way! In addtion, she makes excellent olive oil and wine!! My mom, who is elderly, loved the apartment and didn't want to leave. I think we all felt that way. If I were to return to Florence, I would make every effort to stay in this apartment again.
Claudia, Your apartment was beautiful and we all felt right at home.
Your Representative was very helpful when we first arrived with the very useful information she gave us.
The apartment was very comfortable and we found that the kitchen was wonderful and we prepared all of our evening meals in the apartment. Thank you
I cannot overstate how much we enjoyed our stay at Claudia's charming, spotless apartment. The apartment has everything one would need to feel at home, but more importantly I must comment on the help and welcome we received from Claudia and her representative Ketty. Our flight was diverted to Venice due to bad weather, but I was able to leave a message for Claudia that we would be delayed. Knowing we would be exhausted after flying from the states plus a delay in Venice and a 3 hour bus ride to Florence, Claudia and Ketty went to the trouble of providing us with a much appreciated meal when we arrived. There were other goodies provided not the least of which was the best olive oil in Tuscany.
The apartment has everything and is very centrally located with a trattoria, farmacia, and wine shop within 50 feet on the narrow and picturesque Borgo Pinti. The Duomo is a brief stroll away and there are excellent restaurants within minutes. Claudia has provided a list of several of the best. She also provides a cell phone for local calls. We took the cooking class with Barbara and it was a highlight of the trip. It was so much fun shopping at the nearby central market with her and then coming home to cook an amazing meal. We loved staying at Borgo Pinti and I recommend it wholeheartedly. I fully intend to return to Borgo Pinti and I very much want to see Claudia again and thank her for such a lovely experience.
Claudia and Ketty are the best hosts ever! From the moment I began looking at this property until we left Florence I felt completely at ease. Claudia was always quick to respond to questions about the property even before I reserved the apartment. Ketty is her assistant and she is lovely, even helping my friend lug her heavy luggage up 56 steps! The apartment is clean, well stocked, comfortable as your home and spacious enough for 5 women or a family of 6. You do have to pay to have the heater or air conditioner turned on, but I believe some places charge a daily electricity charge. No need for an air conditioner or heater in the spring. The street is in such a perfect location. It is extremely quiet in the evening and close to everything without being in the chaos of a busy street. Claudia has a list of restaurant recommendations and they are all delicious. You can wake up in the morning, walk across the cobblestone street to a little Tabachi and have a cappuccino to-go or choose to walk a little further to buy your fresh morning pastries. Claudia took care of all of my worries or needs before I ever step foot in Florence. I would come back to this apartment if I ever make it back to Florence! Thank you Claudia and Ketty!
