Overview

Keeseville Cabin Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedroom, 1 Full Bath, Sleeps Six

Nestled in a private community, hidden in the forest with views of

the Mountains and the Lake, Pocomoonshine, once discovered

becomes a cherished sanctuary, many times for many generations.

Hark back to a former time, a simpler time, far away yet close to everything.

Our year round camp entices everyone with it’s rustic charm, multilingual library, large country kitchen, screened porch and garden with Adirondack chairs. Carefully restored and refurbished, keeping the antiquarian charm yet

offering modern comforts. There is a wood stove to take the chill out of the cool nights and a Hot Tub to warm up your spirit. Plentiful windows frame a landscape wherein you feel in concert with and cradled by Mother Nature.

Our camp is located about 80' from the shore, accessible by foot path. Enjoy your morning coffee, fish or watch the sunset from our private dock.

You never want to leave and always await your return.

Great Room - Library: The Queen Size Futon is located in the Living Room / Library. Here one (or two or three) sleep in this great, open room with high ceilings, twin paddle fans overhead, wood stove with a blazing fire, and a dream catcher to protect your sleep. The atmosphere is of so many adventures in hundreds of books waiting on the shelves, antique lamps providing the light, animal masks adorning the wall. Share scary stories or listen to gentle lullabies of Chopin played on the LP record player. Where will you choose to go in your dreams tonight?

Kitchen: The heart of the house is the good ole’ country kitchen. It is warm and inviting for gathering together or sitting in solitude on the window seat and taking in the beauty of nature while indulging in the aroma of the herb garden just beyond.

The butcher block with pots hanging above calls to the chef to create that memorable meal. He(She) will find no tools lacking for that task. The antique cherry dinner table is a perfect place for the romantic dinner for two or for a whole family to have an evening of talks and games.

Porch: Fresh breezes blow in from the adjacent enclosed, screened porch - A perfect place to greet the morning, or soak in the rays of the setting sun. The colorful radiance of the room hugs you with joy and happiness. The Mexican tile table, wrought iron cushioned couch and chairs, and swinging chair create the atmosphere to inspire the artist within you.

Songs about children have been written on this porch.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Renata,

Our third time at Pocomoonshine, what a special place. Our hectic ‘life’ goes away as we are secluded and cozy here. We spent most of Sunday on snowshoes enjoying the winter wonderland. We found Cub Mnt. Trail on the other wise of the lake. The views are spectacular in this area.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful camp.

Pocomoonshine was inviting from the moment we entered...clean, charming and organized. Friendly little touches were everywhere and made us feel both at home and also far, far away. We'll be back! Kathy

Beautiful and rejuvenating!

  • 5 of 5

The property and house are absolutely lovely, with cozy interior decorating and everything you could need. I especially liked the library -- even thought I brought my own books it's nice to be nestled by the wood stove, reading and surrounded by hundreds more!

I also very much enjoyed the privacy. The several days my husband and I were there we saw maybe three people, and yet there are delicious restaurants and diners close by! Speaking of close by: Ausable Chasm is a must!

Affordable, comfortable, and beautiful, I loved this cabin!

My Sweet Haven

  • 5 of 5

Camp Pocomoonshine is nestled amongst the trees in a mountain fold. We arrived in time to watch the last dance of light on the lake. Louis Armstrong on the record player and tea in hand, this is when all the stress of everyday life ebbed away. The perfect prelude to a delightful weekend. The AuSable Chasm is awe inspiring; the camp's namesake, Poke-O-Mountain, is a fabulous afternoon hike; the cabin, however, was our haven. Watched by two deer, my dog and I traisped through the morning wood savoring the start of the day. At the end of day my partner and I enjoyed wine in front of the fire. This place, this beautiful and welcoming cabin, was our solace. It was a melancholic departure and we long to return.

Most amazing getway ever!

  • 5 of 5

I cannot say enough about this cabin. I stayed there with my husband and our two friends. As soon as we arrived I knew we were in for a treat. The cabin was so welcoming and warm, which was nice since it was freezing that weekend! The house is spotless and I loved the decorations. There was so much charm and the record player was the cherry on top. Relaxing in the hot tub and watching the snow fall down was so magical. We recommend this place to anyone who wants a nice quiet and relaxing getaway. We will definitely be back! Thanks Renata- It was such a pleasure working with you!

Clean, cozy and quiet getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We fell in love with this place in the spring that we went back in the fall for our anniversary. Kayaking, biking, hiking (we did Pokomoonshine, Baxter and the Ausable Chasm but there's many more mountains around); or simply relaxing in the hot tub or by the fireplace (in or out). Renata was very easy to deal with and answered emails or phonecalls promptly. Beth and Jim were also readily available for questions. We love this place - the four-season porch looking out on the lake was my favourite. Would recommend this to anyone!

Restorative & Relaxing !!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I were delighted by the cozy and comfortable Pocomoonshine Camp! Such thoughtful touches everywhere, we especially loved the record player and LPs. The woodstove created a warm and magical feeling the past few chilly nights, the lake was just gorgeous, and the hottub a real treat in the evenings! Very clean and well stocked, too. Pocomoonshine was a much need respite from the busy world- Thank you, Renata! We look forward to coming back!

Augur Lake is sequestered betwixt two miracles of nature,

Poke-O-Moonshine Mountain, with 1100 Million year-old walls, resembling a Gothic Cathedral and Ausable Chasm, with its intense energy from the whitewater coursing rapidly through the deep gorge.

We are in the heart of the Bread Basket of the Adirondacks, where valley farms offer organic eggs, dairy and produce biodynamically grown. There are apple orchards too!

High Peaks form the backdrop for these vistas, inviting hikes and explorations of Swimming Holes, Many Falls, High Falls Gorge, Natural Springs, Caves, Lakes and Rivers.

On Lake Champlain, only a few miles away, there is a private beach and boat launch for our community, as well as a ferry to Burlington, Vermont.

Thirty minutes to Whiteface Mountain.

Forty minutes to the Olympic Village of Lake Placid.

Ninety Minutes to Montreal, the second largest French City (after Paris) in the World-with all its sophistication, arts and culinary delights.
