Space 2,690 sq. ft.

About the property

Living in a recovered ruin with breathtaking view

The first feeling you have arriving at Villa Torno is the strong energy emanating from a wild and uncontaminated place. Landscape and Nature do the rest: the rock cavity in the basement and the breathtaking views towards the lake.

The Approach Has Been to combine historic and modern elements in a way That enhances the innate beauty of each by virtue of its contrast with the other. The house is very private and surrounded by conservation land, wood and rocks. The priority is the relationship between the inside and outside living space. All the traditional materials were used in a contemporary way.

A large living room with sliding glass doors lead out onto an adjoining That terrace and a breathless lake view.

The kitchen in the old stone part with fireplace

Their 4 bedrooms with en suite bathrooms for 8 persons: the master bedroom 'romantic' with double bed, bedroom 'hollow' with double bed, remaining two bedrooms 'sunset' and 'rocks' can be prepared either with twin beds or double bed, According to guest's requirement.

3. 000 square meters of lush green and terraced gardens.

As the house is in a dominant position above the charming village of Torno to reach the property you have to pass I'll be back and take a narrow uphill road of about two minutes drive.

A 4x4 car is strongly suggested or at least a car with automatic transmission. A van is not suggested as it could cause problems in reaching the property.

Then you park inside the property and you have a ramp of about 80 steps up to the Villa ..... the ramp to paradise!

No problems for your luggages, there is always someone who will bring them up to the house on your Behalf.

The building Has Been recently fully restored, preserving the identity of the original stone building.

The interiors are furnished with original designer and art pieces.

The house is equipped with free Wi-Fi, satellite TV, cable box, DVD and Hi-Fi System with Bluetooth connection.

Your favorite music playlists on your furniture can be listened in the house simply by connecting the Mobile Bluetooth to the Hi-Fi System.

In the basement there is at guest's disposal a relaxation area with a unique bio sauna, located among the local rocks found During the restoration works. The bio sauna permits to adjust the percentage of humidity, choosing to have a typical hard dry finnish sauna or a turkish bath.

Enjoy the outdoor Jacuzzi with SPA TERRACE Softub for 5/6 persons, hot / cold water shower and relaxation area.

An alternative to an appetizer with a romantic glass of wine.

The Jacuzzi is not available during winter season.

Check-in time is at 4 PM.

Sometimes, provided That Villa Torno is available, we can agree a different check-in time.

KINDLY NOTE IT IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY TO RESPECT THE AGREED CHECK-IN TIME Because nobody lives at Villa I'll be back and the person in charge for check-in follows several properties.

Any change or delay Shall be Communicated as soon as possible for a good welcome.

Please note that the reservation is personal, Therefore the owner has to be informed IN ADVANCE by email or text in case of change in the name of the guests staying at Villa I'll be back as well as in case of new guests / friends for joining even one or blackberries nights. A copy of the personal document Shall be provided.

Please inform the owner if you have kids under 12 years.

Please inform the owner in advance if you have pets, an extra fee could be applied.

Torno is a really charming village Which stretches into the lake with its rocky promontory. It has maintained the forms of the ancient village in the narrow streets, the simple houses, the small and big churches, the fountains and the characteristic small square on the lake, it's called the little Portofino of the Lake Como.

It is about 5 km from Como and 15 km from Bellagio. It is very pleasurable to move around by public boats or simple walking in order not to miss the suggestive panoramic points That offer views of the villages, of the lake and of the mountains.

Erika - Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us and for making our trip to Torno so perfect. From all of your pre-trip communications to the initial meeting with Mrs. Cristina to the local assistance with restaurants, parking, etc. to the surprise cake (!) to the breathtaking vistas and all of the creature comforts - we enjoyed every minute of our delightful stay. This was the favorite stop for all in our family. Wishing we were still there now.

All the best.

Grazie mille!

Idyllic Lake Como Destination

  • 5 of 5

Villa Torno is everything one would expect from a fabulous Lake Como destination and more! A spectacular location, with unforgettable views and an amazingly well designed home. The harm between old and new, the 1st class amenities and kitchen, the fabulous garden with multiple sewing and viewing areas, all make for a truly remarkable location. I have had the privilege to travel the world and Villa Torno is simply one of the most wonderful places I have ever stayed. The service, greeting and hospitality are also top notch and extremely helpful.

Lake Como - Unbelievable House!!

  • 5 of 5

HI Erika

Just wanted to send you a quick email to thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful house! Everyone was so impressed with the house and the way you decorated it. While the hike from the road was a little tough after a late nite, it was well worth the walk.

We also wanted to comment on the photo book which showed the history of the property and the construction it took to build it. We couldn’t figure out how the stones in the basement were there until we saw the book and after going through it we all commented on what a great job they did with this house!! Your place is very well set up and all the information you have at the house for visitors is very good and much appreciated!

Pass on our thanks to Christina for meeting us and showing us around the house as well as passing on travel tips for the area. Everything was taken care of and all we had to do was enjoy our stay!

If we ever get back to Como we will definitely see if your place is available and will tell all our friends about your place!

Thank you again and hope the rest of 2016 treats you well!

Best Regards,

Overwhelmingly positive experience

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't be happier with our experience at Villa Torno. The home is stunning, the views breathtaking, and the rental experience painless. The owner was so accommodating and helpful. Her unique artwork compliments the house and grounds beautifully. From the minute we were met by the owner's assistant and escorted to the house to the sad moment we said goodbye at the gate on our last day, the experience was stellar. This was the best rental experience we've had. Can't wait to return. Thank you Erika!

Perfect trip

  • 5 of 5

Arriving at the house is quite an adventure, as we were personally escorted after meeting at the village center. There was help to get our bags to (and from) the villa. The entire time we were amazed by the views, the changing color of the water, the clouds floating by on a rainy day, and watching the lights come on around the lake as the sun went down.

The villa is a masterpiece, and it is evident that Erika has taken time to address every detail. The architecture, history, landscape, furnishings, lighting, artwork and accessories - all work together to make you feel like you are living out of an Architectural Digest spread. We kept the large sliding doors open and the outside blended seamlessly with the inside. There are so many places on the property to explore, and so many outdoor places to relax and enjoy. We had several memorable outdoor meals on the large stone table under the moonlight.

You must be in decent physical shape to climb from the parking area up the hill; however there are handrails. In fact, to get around many of the Lake Como towns, you should be in good shape. Torno was very quaint and has a nice market. The ferries can be challenging, but take the slow one in the evening from up the lake and enjoy the ride and views with a bottle of wine.

Thank you for sharing this special place with us, and I hope we are able to return one day.

Car: necessary

The village of Torno, Which stretches into the lake with its promontory, is about 5 km from Como and about 15 km from Bellagio. It is very pleasurable to move around by public boats. To reach the peer where the boats leave, Placed in the square by the lake in the middle of the village and next to the church of Santa Tecla, I suggest you go down on foot (no more than 10 minutes) walking through the picturesque pedestrian That little streets cross the ancient medieval town of Torno.

It is nice to "get lost" wandering in the tangle of the alleys of the historic center, That leads you back to an ancient past and vivid, with its characteristic fountains, the small and big churches (we mention in Particular That of Saint John ), and the not to be missed points That offer panoramic views of the villages, of the lake and of the mountains.
