|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Beautiful four bedroom lakefront house located on Waverly Beach. Private white sand groomed beach. Waverly Beach is the first beach from the Peace Bridge in historic Fort Erie. Breathtaking view of the Buffalo Skyline, especially at night. The property is located on Edgemere Drive. This street is a one way street, which makes the property quiet and secluded. A paved scenic bike path runs through the end of the driveway along the lake and river, going all the way to Niagara on the Lake and the Niagara Falls. The property has many old trees giving it that shaded relaxed feel with great views of Lake Erie right from the porch and bedrooms. If you are looking for the perfect beach getaway that is super convenient, this is it!

We stayed their the summer of 2015 in July.
-only the kitchen appliances are updated, the rest of the kitchen is older. And the kitchen was not stocked and the pots and pan and plates were all pretty cheap.
-The photos makes the place look newer, but it's a bit rustic, I felt like it could use a bit more cleaning
-The beach right in front had a large pool of warm standing water, that look to be full of bugs ( and thier was a lot of bugs around in general)
- there was no hammock and the patio furniture on the beach was pretty dirty
- both bathrooms are very small
-the bedrooms didn't have any curtains, so difficult if you have little ones that take naps during the day
-there were no garbadge bags and the garbage cans outside were already full and very tiny and the raccons kept on knocking them over every night.
-The porch and porch furniture was great, we spent much of our time there
-great that they have two refirgerators
- when you walk on the beach several houses down is a nicer more groomed beach
-great location, it's feels very secluded but you are close to a lot (vineyards). Just right across the border.
-right on the freindship trail if you want to go fo a bike ride
-paddle boat was awesome and so easy to use
-erie lake was nice and warm and the water was shallow
This is the second time we have rented the Waverly Beach house for the last week in June. We have thoroughly enjoyed our getaways to this wonderful property. The house has plenty of space for a family of 6 to enjoy together - and plenty of space to have some time apart as well. The bedrooms are comfortable with portable air conditioning units in each one. We used both porches extensively - both are furnished with comfortable patio furniture. Some key points not to be overlooked regarding the amenities: TWO FULL baths, a washer and dryer, TWO fridges, Wi-Fi, well-equipped kitchen, all linens, and plenty space for parking. One thing that may not be apparent when looking at the property online is that this is a VERY private and quiet location. The property has a natural boundary of trees and greenery all the way to the beach. This provided a wind screen on breezy days, additional shade for those who aren't looking to bake on the beach all day, and quite a bit of kindling for bonfires. This natural screen also marks the end of the real sandy beach area in this section of the lake, so there is hardly any beach walking "through traffic". There is not much "traffic" at all really - the lake is shallow here so very few boats pass by and there seems to be very few people using the beach in general. I doubt you will find this level of privacy elsewhere along the lake. Be sure to take some side trips to Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake while you stay here. Both are only about a 30 minute drive away. Things not to forget to bring: bug spray, laundry detergent, blow dryer, playing cards and board games, and bikes. (The Friendship Trail is easily accessed at the foot of the driveway and is a well paved scenic ride in either direction.) If you do forget anything, Walmart, Sobey's, LCBO, and The Beer Store are all close by on Garrison Road. All in all, we highly recommend this property to any renters!
Just got home from the rental and missing it already. The house is very spacious with lots of seating (inside and outside) and having Wi-Fi was key! Having 2 fridges was fantastic, but having the one fridge with water and ice dispenser was just over the top! The kitchen was pretty much fully stocked, but not very many serving bowls...but we made it work. Having a washer/dryer was also key, but don't put anything in the dryer that has a string on it, because it ate one of my daughters bathing suits and cover-up, but really not a big deal.
The second floow deck was wonderful, I did my yoga practice out there every morning and it was quiet, beautiful and serene.
The owner came out and raked the beach to get it ready for us. The water level is shallow, but perfect for our small kids. It is a little rocky and would recommend water shoes for sure.
You have the beach completely to yourself for the most part, and especially at night for your bon-fire. We saw 3 different sets of fireworks accross the lake in WNY, which was fantastic. Don't forget the bug spray when you're outside at night!
Already considering booking again for next years vacation!
My family & I rented this home over the 4th of July. We had a wonderful week at the beach. We have two little ones and the beach access was awesome. We also had family come up and stay with us and there was plenty of room for everyone. The house has everything you could possibly need: 2 fridges, washer & dryer, beautiful porch, wifi, flat screen tv and air units in the bedrooms. We enjoyed the use of the owner's paddle boat, swimming in the lake, walks on the beach and on the bike path, fires at night and grilling & eating at the picnic tables. The owner raked the beach before we arrived and even came up to do it again while we were still there. I highly recommend this property!!
We just arrived back home from our stay at the lake
house and we wanted to write to let others know of
the fabulous stay and experience that we had. We
rented the lake house for a family gathering and it
was the perfect place. There were 10 people (5
adult couples) and two babies. The house was
definitely spacious enough for all of us. Two of the
rooms have queen size beds, a third room has two
double beds, and a fourth has a newer set of bunk
beds. We brought two pack-n-plays with us for
the babies and each fit nicely in the rooms with the
queen beds. The living room is very cozy and we
were all able to sit and chat comfortably. There is
also a very nice porch where we spent many an
evening talking and laughing. The beach is perfect
and we had many great days and evenings there
(the bonfire on the beach with smores is a MUST).
The kitchen is very well stocked and we cooked
dinner all but one night (the grill and picnic tables
outside are great as well). The private beach and
the walking trails near the house are excellent.
The owner was very accommodating and personally
greeted us and checked us out, which we thought
was a very nice personal touch. We can't stress
enough how much we enjoyed our stay. We would
definitely recommend this place to any who are
interested. We are missing the beautiful views
We stayed in the Waverly Beach Lake house for one week in Oct 2008.
My husband and I have stayed in many rental properties, and we have a good idea of what guests should anticipate upon arrival. A well-reviewed property is always helpful for any prospective renter.
Positive comments: As the ad states, the house is close to the beach. There is a fire pit for bonfires (we used this one night -- very fun!). There is a hammock (very comfortable!), and lots of opportunities for R&R! There is a running/biking trail next to the property. The property is VERY quiet during the day, and at night. There are lots of older trees surronding the house, providing lots of shade, and a cozy, relaxed-feeling. There is a nice area outside to have a BBQ, and dinner party. Plenty of space for a gathering.
The house is an older beach-front property with recent upgrades (freshly painted walls, new fireplace, refinished hardwood floors, fully-renovated upstairs bathroom, recent landscaping). The kitchen has a newer fridge, dishwasher and countertops. The gas stove/oven is an older version, but works fine. But, as with most older homes, the kitchen and bathrooms are small. The bathroom on the first floor is very small with original tile work/fixtures (has not been upgraded).
There are four bedrooms: Two larger bedrooms had queen-sized beds, The other bedroom had two twin beds, and a small fourth small bedroom had two full-sized air mattresses stacked. There were plenty of pillows/linens to go around.
The living area is large, with an L-shaped dining/living area. There is a gas fireplace that is a very efficient heater, and kept the house warm at night. There is a love seat and large couch that are VERY comfortable! The dining area is good for entertaining guests.
The pantry was well stocked with essentials. This house had most staple ingredients, and then some! We left a few things behind for others to enjoy, too.
The owners of the property responded to all our email inquires quickly, and met us at the rental property upon our arrival to give us additional information.
Two negative comments:
1. A thorough house cleaning before our arrival would have made my stay much more pleasurable from the beginning. We spent some time sweeping floors, wiping counters, and cleaning dishes (dirty dishes left in the dishwasher) when we arrived.
2. If you have a cat allergy, you should inform the owner before renting; there was a strong cat presence (cat hair) in the
Short drive to Niagara Falls and Niagara on the Lake wine country, 3 minute drive to the peace bridge (Closest beach to the states in Canada). Half hour drive to Buffalo Int. airport.
