Perfect location and gorgeous views

  • 5 of 5

We rented this home for a family reunion. The pictures don't do justice for this beautiful log home. It has an open floor plan and the floor to ceiling windows open to the most gorgeous views. Large kitchen with island that opens to the living area. Large dining table, large bedrooms upstairs that have bathrooms attached. Large open room downstairs that has two bedrooms and one bathroom. Huge wrap around deck. The location is ideal and close to all activities Sawtooth area has to offer. A short walk to Smiley Creek Lodge that has delicious food and great home made milk shakes. Red Fish Lake is a must with all kinds of activities for families. We were thrilled with the quality of the home and the owner is great to work with. This part of Idaho is jaw dropping beautiful and so many outdoor activities. You won't make a mistake with renting this home.

Sawtooth Mts. - Best View

  • 5 of 5

For 2 weeks we hiked a different trail every day, then came home to our cabin and relaxed. We sometimes cooked a meal there and sometimes ate at Redfish Lodge (great!) or Smiley's directly below the cabin (also terrific). Everything was wonderful and very relaxing. One day we went to Ketchum (40 minutes away) and took in the arts festival, got groceries in a very nice market, and got some growlers at the Sawtooth Brewery (good beer; nice people.) It is a beautiful town.

Best of all were the beautiful sunsets, each one a little different each evening, and an occasional dramatic thunderstorm. Starry starry nights were amazing, and wildlife (antelope, cranes etc.) were plentiful. We have had many wonderful vacations, but none were as peaceful or relaxing as this.

Great Cabin in a Beautiful Setting

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this lovely cabin with friends and family in early September. Being Idaho natives, we knew it was a beautiful time to be in the Stanley area, but the views from the cabin still left us breathless. The cabin itself has large common living areas suitable for entertaining (we hosted a brunch while we were there) and comfortable furnishings. The owner was very responsive to my emails and helpful in planning our stay. The property is well maintained and has everything one would need for a longer stay.

I would recommend this property if you're planning a family reunion, a family vacation or a get-away with friends. Be sure to stay awake long enough to check out the stars off the deck. There's no "light pollution" here!

Fun in The Sawtooth Mountains

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I and our three grown daughters spent five great days here. We had to take three planes to get here ,but it was well worth it.The cabin truley has wonderful mountain views from every window. The cabin is well stocked and is kept in great shape. John the owner was very helpful and accommodating. This is a good base camp for playing in the Sawtooth's or just hanging out. The Salmon river has white water rafting and excellent fly fishing. Redfish is not to be missed, it is a lake like no other, situated in the heart of the Sawtooth mountains. There is hiking and mountain biking everywhere. Once you go through the Galena pass you enter another world and leave your real world behind. So stock up on food and supplies because ....the best part of all is you are 30 miles from the nearest store. If you are into outdoor recreation this is the place to stay ...and have some fun.

Sawtooth cabin was perfect for our group of six female hikers. The view from the deck is awesome, the kitchen is well equipped and the four bedrooms were great. The cabin is centrally located for reaching trailheads and lakes very easily. This house is a winner! Warm and welcoming and very clean. You won't go wrong with a vacation at Sawtooth Cabin.

Fabulous Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My family had a wonderful time at Sawtooth Log Cabin. The living space in the home is HUGE and the great room has the most spectacular views of the mountains. The kitchen is very open and well equipt. The cabin is on top of a small hill and is very private and peaceful. The location can't be beat - so close to the nearby lakes - our favorite was Redfish Lake - excellent activities and facilities.

I would certainly recommend a visit!!!
