Overview

About the property

WiFi, seaviews, walking distance to both beaches and town - this one has it all!

The beautiful Gyllyngdune Manor has been converted into an equally beautiful set of holiday apartments. You’ll find The Manacles on the second floor, which can be accessed via a lift, overlooking Falmouth Bay, the Lizard Peninsula, and the Manacles Rocks.

Upon entering, you’ll find an open-plan living room, calmly decorated with a quaint nautical theme, with kitchen and dining area. French doors lead out onto a balcony with a table and chairs so you can breakfast in style, overlooking the bay. Inside a TV, CD player, DVD player, iPod dock and WiFi will provide all the entertainment you need when you aren’t out exploring the stunning local area, such as the newly restored Victorian Bandstand in the Princess Pavilions gardens.

You’ll find the kitchen superbly equipped with Gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. There’s also a handy utility-cupboard with washing machine and dryer. The property benefits from gas fired central heating, so the evenings will always be warm and cosy, no matter what the weather is doing.

Bedroom one has a double bed and en-suite with shower, basin, and WC, while bedroom two features twin singles. Both rooms are light and wonderfully decorated with splashes of colour; with such a vibrant view through the window, you need something equally pleasing inside!

The town of Falmouth, complete with its wide range of shops, pubs, restaurants and seaside sights, is just a few minutes’ walk away. The property does have an allocated parking space, although with Gyllyngvase beach just a short coastal path away, and ferries leaving Falmouth for St Mawes, Truro, and the Helford River, you could find the car feels a little left out!

The Manacles is a fantastic apartment in a stunning location, providing four lucky guests the opportunity to take in the true beauty of the Cornish coast whilst being conveniently located to provide everything a holiday needs to be perfect.

Falmouth is home to Cornwall's National Maritime museum and its 'surfs up', 'Titanic' and other special exhibitions. There are network of passenger ferries that will transport you past wooded creeks, quaint villages and pretty hamlets to St Mawes or Truro along the Fal and Helford Rivers. There are diving and sailing schools, yacht charter, skippered cruises, water sports centres with equipment for hire and local fishing trips.

Falmouth's beaches, Gyllyngvase, Swanpool, Castle, Tunnel and Maenporth all have lovely white sands and there is also a rural beach at Kiln Quay. Opposite Swan pool beach there is a tranquil nature reserve teaming with the local wildlife.

The Fal estuary has played a major role in our nations defense dating back to Tudor times and Henry V111's castles at Pendennis and are open all the year round. Renting a holiday cottage in Falmouth allows you to visit the subtropical valley garden at Glendurgan and also Kimberly Park, Queen Mary Gardens and Fox Rosehill Gardens. It is also convenient for the other popular gardens of Cornwall, such as Trebah, Trelissick, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project.

The Princess Theater has a year round music, drama, festival and variety program, as does the theater at the Poly. Falmouth art gallery is family friendly, free and has one of the most important collections in Cornwall. Truro has a theater and nightlife venue at the Hall for Cornwall.

Falmouth has an abundance of hotels, restaurants and cafes offering a variety of Cornish and international cuisine made from local produce and seafood, not forgetting the Cornish pasty.
